Congratulations! I keep telling my friends and associates who can use a smile about your comic and website. I was describing the one about ankles to a cashier at a local small store and she was laughing so hard, she could barely stand up enough to finish ringing up my order. Even my friend who is allergic to cats and loves dogs thought it was funny. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks for sharing that, local news is always a hoot. Congratulations, now you’re a ‘web comet’ author who’s been on television! It’s awesome to get some recognition for such a warm, sweet, funny strip.
Congratulations on being featured on the human news channel!
Love the glimpse of the boys and hearing and seeing you.
And this strip – you’ve outdone yourself. …Lupin’s shamrock mug, Elvis’s ‘ don’t touch me, I’m Siamese. <- totally tshirt worthy; and I couldn't help hearing Puck in a Scottish burr.
Happy St Patrickโs Day 2015!
Thank you so much!!! Of all the boys, it was Pucky surprisingly (or maybe not so suprisingly) who was the shyest and the hardest to get on camera. Lupin was all over the cameras from the moment the news team entered the apartment (and all over the news team too). Elvis spent much of the interview safely in our bedroom to cut down on his stranger anxiety, but when he came out there was a definite, “There are cameras here? To film me? FINALLY,” cattitude that he slipped right into. The camera man was a warm, patient, kind cat person and he gave Puck a lot of space and a lot of time to get comfortable. And the woman who interviewed me was similarly so nice and friendly, and gave ME a lot of space and time to get comfortable, ha! They were so good at their job, it was a great experience for all of us.
I wish the Man could have been there for this one too! He was at work, sadly as it happened during the middle of the day. It would have been great to catch him on camera too. The Baby (the Toddler, really) was home, but he was being entertained by one of our aunts during the interview. ๐
This is so exciting, Georgia! Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the video but I read the article underneath. You ARE famous!!! See, I said you would be the next Charles Schultz! LOL I love the St. Patrick’s day comic. Very rarely do I laugh out loud at comics but you get me most every time! I see some of all 4 of my cats in your comics and they become personal! That’s the way to gain readers, make it personal. You do that better than any artist in recent years as far as I am concerned. Keep up the great work!!!!!
I can’t get the video to play now, and I’m certain I watched it earlier this year (I wanted to watch it again). It would be great if it could be uploaded either to your youtube channel, or to WJAR’s youtube channel, that way anyone could watch it.
I am so excited for you. It was a great video. I can’t believe they actually got a shot or two of Elvis. I figured he’d be hiding somewhere. Belated congrats on the BCN anniversary.
Congratulations on the interview, i’ll bet the boys were all ears and whiskers for that!! Also, Puck, looks down at his wee footie and sez…”am I Scottish?” awwwwwwww
@ Georgia : I saw your news report. I’m amazed of how your boys are inspired by the reporters on the local news and each of them does their jobs flawlessly. I also like to see and hear the creator of BCN gets her ideas from! All the best to you and your family and congrats on baby #2!
All three cat reactions are wonderful, but I especially like that Elvis is so sure of his Siamese-ness.
Loved the TV interview – thank you for sharing. Enjoy your new baby and your Australian fans look forward to the next “season” of BCN.
Well done Elvis for his geographical investigation. Manx cats are indeed not Scottish, but from the Isle of Man. But hurrah for Scotland featuring in this strip! *tootles bagpipes, flings out a few steps of an eightsome reel*
(And my cat Pooky would like to reassure Lupin that most Scottish cats retain all their extremities. But she thinks Puck’s handsome so he can be an honorary Scot anytime) ๐
Oh no!! Let me try and reload a different file–I know exactly what happened, and it would prevent it from coming up on phones!! I’m sorry! Give me about 5 min, and I’ll have it fixed for you!
I just replaced the file, it *should* work now–please let me know if it still gives you trouble! Basically, I save these at a smaller size, and I forgot to last night and phones and tablets have a heck of a time bringing up the giant files. Apologies!! Thank you for letting me know!
im still giggling about Scottish body parts Lmao
You are a joy in our lives Georgia and the boys are just the greatest.
As I watched (and bawled I was so happy) your interview and each of the gentlemen were introduced – you could feel their personalities come roaring thru the camera!!!! You have hit it outta the park – enjoy dear artist – you are making the world so much lighter with your presence:)
The interview was so great, Georgia! Is so cool to see not only the ‘genius’ (you) behind the scenes but the boys as well! Pucky is definitely a bit chubbier than portrayed here! LOL Perhaps too much food for the ‘Scottish’ boy? LOL Thank you for sharing them! They are so special!
Congrats on a wonderful interview, my mom actually caught it on the 6pm news! What’s next for a nod at local RI news? A Gary Ley weather cat? Puck wearing a Doug White hair helmet (that’ll never move LOL) or Tommy shouting out “No school Foster/Glocester!”
So, so tempted to make Tommy shouting “No school Foster/Glocester,” haha!! Was I the only kid in the 80s who was super jealous of all the kids living in Foster/Glocester every time it snowed?? Ha!!
That would be the best! I remember asking my mom if they went to school all summer because it seemed like they never had school! (I grew up in West Warwick). Although I loved hearing Salty do that on the tv every snowy morning!
You look so cute in the interview! Congratulations! It was amazing to see you painting in Puck’s beard on TV, and so nice to see the boys all participating. This is another great strip. I really loved “Don’t touch me, I’m Siamese.” Elvis is a lot like Bucky from Get Fuzzy (but smarter and not quite as evil). ๐
Another adorable strip, Georgia, thanks! And congrats on the interview – you were very poised and looked quite comfortable, and I’m so happy the camera person managed to get “action shots” of all your boys, they are as adorable in real life as in BCN stips!
Georgia,
My huge congrats on your interview and your 100th strip. It is as much fun to share your growing popularity and success as it is to read BCN. I don’t remember when my youngest brother first shared your work with one of my sisters and me but we all three became instant fans. Sadly, my brother died last month so each new BCN strip reminds me of him and how I’ll never receive another email in which he compares one of your charming reporters to one of my own cats. Sometimes it is too painful to bear, but I come back to BCN, knowing Mike would have wanted me to read on, laugh and maybe even think what he might have had to say about a particular strip. Mike especially would have liked today’s strip as we are of Irish descent.
Keep up the great work (please!) and I hope it continues to bring you both personal and professional fulfillment.
Cat
Thank you so, Cat! I’m so very sorry to hear about your brother’s passing. I hope that he would have enjoyed today’s strip too, and I’m glad that BCN can bring you some laughs, some happiness, and keep the happy memories going.
Just watched the interview, wonderful to hear the voice of BNC, and to watch the gorgeous boys, Elvis – how beautiful. And to watch this strip being created, goodness I could go on and on. One day a whole hour on how you create your art work, I for one will be mesmerised ๐
Don’t touch me. I’m Siamese. I laughed. ๐
Am I Scottish!? I laughed harder. ๐
Feed me I’m Scottish! I scared my family laughing. XD
You have a wonderful sense of humor.
One of the best yest! Congratulations on the growing recognition of your work – your deserve it! Your whole family as portrayed in this comic brings joy and laughter to so many.
Congratulations Georgia! It was a treat to see the boys. Elvis looks exactly like his comic strip persona, Puck looks like an absolutely sweetheart, just like in the strip, and Lupin seems much more “Adult” than his depiction in the lamp strip. Though Head Cat, as he seems to be, is often a role assumed for occasions such as this. I had a very old arthritic Head Cat and two young cats. One of the young ones tried to challenge the Big Kitty for head cat role but I prevented her. First visitor after the Big Kitty died, Young Kitty, who finally got the Head Kitty role, came down the hall, head down, hobbling as if severely arthritic. She was imitating exactly what the Big Kitty taught her. So Lupin’s demeanor may be part of his role. p.s. I am somehow reminded of a young woman who started a comic stri back in the late 70’s, I think. Her name was Cathy Guisewite
Thank you, Kathryn! It is so interesting how Young Kitty imitated Big Kitty! And what she thought was the “head cat behavior!”Cats are amazing. We had something similar occur after the passing of our cat Daisy when I was a teen. Every morning, literally like clockwork, Daisy would wake my mother around 6am. Daisy, sadly passed away, and even though her kitty-mate Ivannah was terribly moping from losing Daisy, the very next morning Ivannah dutifully took over waking my mother up at 6am!
I agree with Lupin that there always seems to be another People holiday coming up (with appropriate tiny hats).
but now I wonder: what are the sanctioned Cat holidays? we know about HamDay aka Puck’s favorite holiday, aka Christmas, but what are others? p’haps an investigative report is in order?
Congratulations! This exposure is priceless and should certainly build thereadership that your talent truly deserves. I don’t want to sound lame, but you go girl! I have received e-mails from around the country from people I urged to check out BCN about the interview. Also today’s strip was really cute! Thank you
Probably a bit off-topic, but Lupin in the video reminded me of the funniest interview (because of cats) on a serious topic that I’ve ever seen. PBS Newshour did an interview with economist and Nobel laureate Paul Krugman back in 2012. At 6:15 on the video (you can drag the bar over), Krugman and his wife sit down at their table. On the table, completely unintimidated by cameramen and interviewers clumping around, was one of his 19 year old cats, Doris Lessing (named after another Nobel Laureate). A few seconds later, the second 19-year-old, Albert Einstein, is shown on a chair, also completely unintimidated, but Elvis-like, he glares at the camera and huffily turns his back. I nearly fell off the couch laughing when I saw that. You can tell who ran that household. Here’s the link if you want to see it. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/business-jan-june12-krugman_06-18/
Just to go completely off topic, I used to live around the corner from Doris Lessing in West Hampstead, another crazy cat lady as well as Nobel Laureate
Laughed so hard at the “Am I Scottish?” panel. (Dunno if it’s because I’m Scottish – I have all my body parts though so it’s possibly just a cat thing.)
If you ever want to do an investigative piece on it, am sure my three cats would be happy to be the foreign correspondents.
My sister in Warwick sent me your web address yesterday. (We are devoted cat people, sadly, both households down to only 2 furballs each.) Today I have spent reading each strip from the very first to the most recent: St.Patrick’s Day. Promptly followed by watching your WJAR interview; reading the article about your strip; reading “Letters to the Editor”; reading posts and comments and your responses. In short ~ or rather, at length ~ getting to know all about you, the Man, the Baby and Lupin, Puck, Elvis and Tommy.
You surely know your furs! Like my sister, I expect you can purr and very likely speak fluent ‘Catanese’. (These abilities may be a deep secret, kept even from the Man, but not to worry, your secret is safe with me.)
So many reasons to extend congratulations to you: the universally happy receiving of your labours, syndication of the strip, and now a shiny new daughter on the near horizon. Blessings upon blessings!
I add my good wishes to the multitude, rejoicing with you like and old friend. I will refrain from whining that, having found you, you promptly take a sabbatical. I’ll be waiting right here. ^-^
Thank you so much, Marcia! I’m so happy that you enjoy the strip, and thank you for sticking around during my upcoming maternity break. ๐ (Sorry to be taking it so soon after you found the strip!!) I used to work in Warwick, coincidentally! I was a banker there for about 5 years, from 2005-2010
Love your strip. So many t-shirt slogans.
I believe James Doohan the Star Trek Scottie, was missing a finger or two. Happens a lot to people who work with power tools.
I have some exciting news! I was interviewed by our local news station, WJAR Channel 10! And they filmed the boys in action too! You can watch the video here: http://www.turnto10.com/story/28534152/web-comic-combines-local-artists-love-of-art-cats-and-journalism

Happy St Patrickโs Day 2015!
I’m only disappointed that we didn’t see puffy Elvis. He’s like a not confidently ignorant Bucky Katt from Get Fuzzy.
Congrats! Yay for more good publicity!!
That is so awesome (and the boys looked adorable on TV, of course)! Congratulations!
Thank you so much!!! Of all the boys, it was Pucky surprisingly (or maybe not so suprisingly) who was the shyest and the hardest to get on camera. “Why are Scottish cats dropping body parts left and right?!” That is laugh out loud funny! I laughed so hard, I cried! Thank you!
“Hold on… am I Scottish?” *dies* (Possibly literally, my laughing has turned into a coughing fit, but so worth it!)
Great interview! Congratulations on your growing popularity!
Love the question about Scottish cats dropping body parts! Cracked me up!
Congrats on an excellent interview–you & the boys did great. Thanks for sharing the link!
And Another fabulous comic–the boys’ looks of disdain at their costume was spot-on! But I agree with “Ma’am”: “They look so handsome.”
Wow! That was cool! You seemed really relaxed and comfortable in the interview. Fun seeing the boys ‘live’ too. ๐
Bwahahaha! I can’t even think of something to single out, this whole stripe was priceless from beginning to end!
The Woman looks extra “freckley” to me.
All three of your cats are adorable! They are naturals when they’re on camera!
Don’t touch me, I’m Siamese. Lol!
That’s another one for the t-shirt list!
Yep! That was the funniest in a very funny (and cute!) strip!
LOLOLOLOLLLLLLLLLLOL
Congratulations on the interview, and the new addition to the family!
I am so excited for you. It was a great video. I can’t believe they actually got a shot or two of Elvis. I figured he’d be hiding somewhere. Belated congrats on the BCN anniversary.
Also I laughed out loud (and startled my kitties) at Puck asking “Am I Scottish”. Too funny!
Congratulations on the interview, i’ll bet the boys were all ears and whiskers for that!! Also, Puck, looks down at his wee footie and sez…”am I Scottish?” awwwwwwww
Don’t touch me I’m Siamese <— The perfect rebuttal to Kiss me I'm Irish!
@ Georgia : I saw your news report. I’m amazed of how your boys are inspired by the reporters on the local news and each of them does their jobs flawlessly. I also like to see and hear the creator of BCN gets her ideas from! All the best to you and your family and congrats on baby #2!
I’m sitting at a bar in public and laughing out loud. Thank you for embarrassing meโฆ
First panel – the hat Lupin’s expression – yup that’s where I started laughing. :3 Didn’t stop for the entire comic. ๐
Thank you!
All three cat reactions are wonderful, but I especially like that Elvis is so sure of his Siamese-ness.
Loved the TV interview – thank you for sharing. Enjoy your new baby and your Australian fans look forward to the next “season” of BCN.
I feel like the Baby and the cats are so often on the same wavelength.

“I don’t understand their religion at all.”–that was my “lol” moment. Cats never understand why THEY’RE not their owners’ sole objects of worship!
that’s amazing, yay for featuring the Isle of Man, that made me so happy!! *waves Manx flag*
(also congrats on the interview!)
…Too cool!
Hi Georgia, I’ve got the comments but not the comic, this is agony. Am I Scottish? Don’t touch me I’m Siamese? what’s happening – help!!!
Oh no!! Let me try and reload a different file–I know exactly what happened, and it would prevent it from coming up on phones!! I’m sorry! Give me about 5 min, and I’ll have it fixed for you!

Thanks Georgia, the comic was very funny without the visuals, even better now ๐
Hooray!! I’m so glad it’s working now! ๐
It’s official!–TODAY”S STRIP IS MY FAVORITE BCN EVER! (But what will Thursday bring, and next Monday…?)
Love Puck’s logic and the look on his face in panel 11, “Am I Scottish?”?
im still giggling about Scottish body parts Lmao

Me too! It felt like such a nice part of winter. (And I used to say it with him sometimes, of course!)
The little one looks almost as confused as Elvis.
Just watched the story, Georgia. So proud of you! I wish we had gotten to see the Man. Here’s to more success!
You look so cute in the interview! Congratulations! It was amazing to see you painting in Puck’s beard on TV, and so nice to see the boys all participating. This is another great strip. Congrats on the interview, it was excellent!

Congratulations Georgia! It was a treat to see the boys. Elvis looks exactly like his comic strip persona, Puck looks like an absolutely sweetheart, just like in the strip, and Lupin seems much more “Adult” than his depiction in the lamp strip. We’ve actually got a Manx named Ted in our house. His accent is amazing. Have you met Ted?
I have not, but he sounds adorable!
I have been so tempted to try out a “Cat holiday” from the boys perspective–maybe one day!!!
!yay! something else to look forward to.
enjoy the new baby time and remember new mommies are not allowed to do any housework for…6 to 12 months.
I like that rule ๐
Congratulations! This exposure is priceless and should certainly build thereadership that your talent truly deserves. I don’t want to sound lame, but you go girl! A friend of mine introduced me to this comic last week because I’m always talking about cats. I love this comic so much! Instant favorite :3

Congratulations! ๐
I need a “Don’t touch me, I’m Siamese” shirt desperately.
I am adding that line and “Feed me, I’m Scottish!” to the list of prints and tees I plan to put together! ๐
Did you really dress them up for St. Patrick’s Day? (Pictures if you really did?)
I wish I could say yes! But sadly, no, not really…. If I could have found St. Patrick’s Day outfits, though… Haha!
“Feed me, I’m Scottish” sums up my 17 year old Scottish Fold very well. ๐
