Yes, then we can take selfies in the selfie shirt – like an after-the-fact photobomb! I foresee social media blowing up with selfie-ception, thanks to BCN. So please, please put it on a shirt π
I will set up my account to follow. Love the line that the birds have their own news. Would love to here their take on the boys. She does confuse Elvis and his expression I the photo and the photobomb is so cute.
Love It! But I am so Elvis in this strip! I try to text, but I always end up getting the phone taken away from me so that whatever I banged out can be translated into something resembling actual communication. My cats would do better, I fear.
You kids and your newfangled technology intruding on the adult world. Bea remains adorable as she does her job, and I love Puck in the background of the profile pic. I can just hear his “Huh? I was reading, what’s going on?”
Beatrix whistling is darling. I love how in panel 8 Beatrix is so enthusiastically on top of things that Uncle Elvis is having trouble keeping up with her π. I LOVE the selfie, and am glad to see Natasha. π»
So cute!!
I have to say, I am a lot like Elvis in this respect, and don’t do social media, nor would I know my way around it.
Love the “photobomb” that was a nice touch πΉπΈ
I love the signature on the BCN email alert! That Beatrix is an unstoppable force. Her interaction with the “Immovable Object”, aka Elvis, in Panel 8 is hilarious.
I meant to ask, is Lupin using a cassette recorder for his voice memos? It doesn’t look like a digital recorder. This seems like another one of the wonderful details you put in the comics. The juxtaposition of the old-school cassette technology next to a Swiss army smartphone (and Twitter theme) is great. π
I’m guessing that it’s not easily stated, whatever the reason, because I have not had any trouble viewing any of them, which means the trouble is not with the BCN server files.
The first step is always to clear your cache and your history, then try to load the page again. Sometimes there is a corrupt file in your cache, and that may clear it up. However, I have seen more than one person comment that they are having trouble, so there may be a bandwidth issue at play as well. Wish I could be more help.
Love it!I love Bea bringing the BCN into the 21st century! And she does it so fast! That Natasha, she knows how to phot bomb! Beat is able to text so fast because of her polydactyl toes—-just
It was with great sorrow but deep understanding that I noted the ‘Letters to the Editor’ feature has been removed.
It is not every cat that can be solely responsible for a baby, run a news station, co-ordinate with outside groups (like ‘mice’ and ‘barn cats’), research the bird/weather connection, recover from grievous mouse and plant inflicted wounds, train an intern and maintain alpha status over your coworkers.
Should you responsibilities allow, I hope at some point we can see the continuation of your advice column in twitter format.
Until then, we support you as you bravely continue on.
Yours,
Thulu ( Williams Household Alpha-in-waiting )
I’m following and I’m loving everyone’s cat photos! I don’t have my own kitty (I’m allergic) so I have to love ’em vicariously. Please keep ’em coming, y’all!
There’s always so many great comments, and so many nice people making them. We should have a special Facebook group to interact with each other. I don’t really have the time to be a moderator, but I’d love to be able to join such a group! =^..^+
Facebook and Instagram I can do but I am not on Twitter – can’t figure out how it works. Like you, however, I would totally do the Twitter thing for BCN!!
Beatrix is a breath of fresh air. I never thought of the BCN boys as fuddy-duddies, but Elvis is giving a pretty good example of one. So funny! ‘Birds have their own social media,’ indeed!
You may have finally given me a reason to join Twitter, Georgia – clearly it’s important to follow @breakingcatnews! (Oh dear, I have no idea how to go about it….)
My she is a busy little cat! I can just see her running around the house making sure everything is just right. I guess it takes a kitten to bring BCN into the modern world. Love the selfie and photo bomb.
No, Lee, you’re not the only one – I’m not on Twitter, or Facebook, or InstaGram, or whatever you can name (I *am* on LiveJournal and LibraryThing and GoodReads, so I’m not a total Luddite). But as I wrote above, I may have to join Twitter just to follow #breakingcatnews in the future {g}….
I guess I’m what you might call a Dinosaur/Technophile hybrid. I got into computer programming 30-some-odd years ago (our first computer was the original IBM PC), but my skills have not even come close to keeping up with the times. Nowadays I couldn’t create an app if my life depended on it. I actually do do Facebook, and technically I have Instagram and Tumblr accounts, but only to see what maybe half a dozen friends are up to there – I have no desire to share photos of my lunch with anyone. As for anything else resembling social media – like Twitter – I have no use for them. I come from a time and place where human thought and communication requires far more than 140 characters, and I prefer to do my communicating live and in person.
I’m only on Facebook under STRONG protest (only way to keep in touch with some friends and family effectively) and use none of the other social media options that “everyone” uses today. AND I still have a flip phone, which I got when I had to upgrade my seven year old, worn out original-came-free-with-the-cell-plan flip phone! Luddites unite!
Add me to the Not On Social Media club! Nor do I intend to be. The Man and I grew up in an era when even television was new, so you can imagine how overwhelming the new “connected” world can be. He got into programming and computers in his career and I’ve only understood one word out of four from him ever since. It’s all I can do to handle e-mail and computer searches for whatever. Never found a need for much else, especially not Twitter, Facebook and such. PLEASE, Georgia, don’t take BCN so far into social media that we dinosaurs miss out on a lot of your Good Stuff!!! That would be tragic!
Beatrix is such a happy cat with so much energy.
last panel had me lol out loud.
ok hope no one minds if i share some personal news. i’ve been going to physical therapy since December. today my doctor told me that i have improved enough not to need any more. just keep up with my walking and excises at home, which i definitely will do. I graduated from formal physical therapy today!!! π
LOL! Bea the self appointed social media intern!
This little gal is such a go getter and will keep the boys on their toes. Everything about this strip is just fabulous and the selfie in the last panel is priceless. Photo bomb for the win!
I just recently discovered BCN and have read all the way back to the beginning. I have had cats my entire life and have never seen a cat comic with cats anywhere near as true to life as yours. I look forward to Mondays and Thursdays all week.
May I ask how your Elvis got his name? We also have an Elvis. He earned his name because he has shiny black markings on his head that look like a pompadour and he makes a “singing” noise when he is hungry.
That is adorable!! And yes, you may. I named Elvis after a soap opera character, funny enough! He’s named after E.J. Dimera from ‘Days of Our Lives’ (whose first name is Elvis).
I’m very much in love with Beatrix the Intern. She looks like my kitten Misha, with my older similar cat Beatrix’ name, and the extra toes of my late Madison. I will share pictures with you should I ever get some good ones. Neither of the ladies like being photographed, and I never had any luck getting pictures of Madison’s feet. He practically had opposable thumbs, however.
Just adding my name to the ever-growing list…I do not use FaceTwit, MyBook, YourSpace, LinkThis or anything else similar. Never saw the value in any of ’em.
Aside: A few years ago I worked for a small company whose boss suddenly “required” us to join FB and Twit. Two of us refused. The boss made “It’s necessary to keep your job” noises.
We made “You got any idea how this’ll look in court?” noises and the matter was dropped forthwith. (I don’t work there any more but not because of that.)
Back on topic: for reasons I don’t understand, I think Panel One is some of your best art ever. Don’t know why, but it talks to me. Love the visual flow and the color. It’s a whole story in itself.

LOL!!! That last panel! I want it as a poster! π It’s so perfectly captures all of their personalities: Beatrix = excited, Lupin = excited and eager, Elvis = angry, and Puck = speechless and puzzled! I love it!
A million cheeky giggles@”bird have their own news”
Puck in the background with his newspaper may be thinking that paper like books hold body heat and smell lke the past. Apologies to Tommy for this thought.
Hilarious and yet so simple! Love BCN as always. Er, following, whatever.
Several years ago I was writing a book about a family of dragons. One of the dragons landed on a school playground to ask directions to a hospital for his human friend. I had one of the teachers going inside the school building to find a phone, but a friend of mine hit me upside the head with, “You know, probably 85% of the kids on that playground have a cell phone.”
π
Beatrix is wonderful, no doubt about it. I think she’s the reincarnation of Tillie. However, there’s one thing that confuses me. It’s a suspension of disbelief thing. Beatrix has led a sheltered life since her rescue from the snow. While it’s possible she was exposed to social media before the snow event, unless she’s observed the humans using social media, and I can’t rule that out, she hasn’t had the opportunity to learn that it exists. Hee.
Photobomb! tee hee
Thanks for the laugh, needed this today. But I’m still calling her Scout. π
Following!
The last panel needs to be on a tee shirt.
I was thinking the same
Most definitely T-Shirt and poster-worthy last panel – am still laughing π
Yes, please!
Completely agree!
Yes. Yes it does. π
Absolutely!
Yes, then we can take selfies in the selfie shirt – like an after-the-fact photobomb! I foresee social media blowing up with selfie-ception, thanks to BCN. So please, please put it on a shirt π
Agreed!
I love the Natasha photobomb!!
Thanks, I missed that.
Puck barely appears in this strip. πΊπΈ
You can see, he was busy with an old “non-social” medium. π
Polydactyl tweeter! Too funny
“Birds have their own news.”
Since finding BCN I’ve been tempted to write BBN – Breaking Bird News as I have five tiels.
Beatrix rules! She’s now sending out the announcements that a new BCN is posted!
Love the line, “Birds have their own news.”
I will set up my account to follow. Love the line that the birds have their own news. Would love to here their take on the boys. She does confuse Elvis and his expression I the photo and the photobomb is so cute.
Can I hire Beatrix? I bet she’d pick up Stata really quickly…
I love Elvis’s condescending look.
FOLLOWING!!!
Natasha for the win in the last panel!!
Hey uh Guys and girls??
What do we call the last panel??
Selfies??
Pawsies??
Any ideas??
Catsies, of course.
Millenials/Polydactyls: dragging the Elvises of the world kicking and screaming into the 21st century … XD
Love It! But I am so Elvis in this strip! I try to text, but I always end up getting the phone taken away from me so that whatever I banged out can be translated into something resembling actual communication. My cats would do better, I fear.
Yes, our Woman Elvis too. No tweeting for her. And her texting is horrible — got a flip phone. Too embarassing for 2 21st century cats!
Yay robber mouse photobomb! Oh, and FOLLOWED!
I love Beatrix so much!!
You kids and your newfangled technology intruding on the adult world. Bea remains adorable as she does her job, and I love Puck in the background of the profile pic. I can just hear his “Huh? I was reading, what’s going on?”
Best way to join Twitter, make an announcement on BCN. π
I look forward to Beatrix on Instagram …
Oh my Cat! I love her to pieces! She’ll keep those guys in line! : )
Cute, Cute, Cute!! I love BCN as do my bosses Clio and Widget!
Clio and Widget? Wait, I know them! Hi, Karen! Thank you for introducing me to this delightful place to visit.
Forget Beatrix being the literature and gardening correspondent. At this rate she’ll be executive producer by the beginning of next week!
@breakingcatnews now has 148 followers! What are y’all waiting for!
Gotta love the photobomb! Following, now.
I love the signature on the BCN email alert! That Beatrix is an unstoppable force. Her interaction with the “Immovable Object”, aka Elvis, in Panel 8 is hilarious.

The juxtaposition of the old-school cassette technology next to a Swiss army smartphone (and Twitter theme) is great. π
Yes, he is! Thank you! π
Elvis! Behind the social media curve – just like me! A tweet? What’s a Hash-tag? The number sign and what??? LOVE it!
Of course one of the robber mice had to photobomb.
is there a (easily stated) reason why i have not been able to see the last two editions? thanks…
Inquiring minds want to know if there’s going to be a new Twitter account for the guys.. and Beatrix?
Too cute!
And please have an update of ‘Our IX Lives’ — still waiting for that letter to be opened ! We need some kitty romance..
Love it!I love Bea bringing the BCN into the 21st century! And she does it so fast! That Natasha, she knows how to phot bomb! Beat is able to text so fast because of her polydactyl toes—-just
Is “The Woman” going to discover lots of cat photos on her phone?
Georgia,
Permission to use that last panel as my Gravatar, please?
Yes, you may Gene! Thank you for asking! π
Dear Elvis His Excellency,
It was with great sorrow but deep understanding that I noted the ‘Letters to the Editor’ feature has been removed.

Mr Tibbs better watch out for him! Thulu, hugs from your uncle Bandit π±π±
Georgia, you keep outdoing yourself!! This is such a delight, all these little feline personalities!
I’m following and I’m loving everyone’s cat photos! I don’t have my own kitty (I’m allergic) so I have to love ’em vicariously. Please keep ’em coming, y’all!
I don’t text, much to the dismay of my grandson. Neither do I own a smart phone. So I guess the Cat News team here is still.in the Dark Ages….
There’s always so many great comments, and so many nice people making them. We should have a special Facebook group to interact with each other. I don’t really have the time to be a moderator, but I’d love to be able to join such a group! =^..^+
Fritz, I love the idea of a chat room or forum, how Catastic !!!!!!
Oh please consider this. I would purrrticipate
Okay, for BCN I might even finally get a Twitter account.
Facebook and Instagram I can do but I am not on Twitter – can’t figure out how it works. Like you, however, I would totally do the Twitter thing for BCN!!
Camera one?
That is ADORABLE! Esp. the little mouse photo-bomb. Poor Elvis feeling out of date. I can relate, buddy. I’m not on Twitter either.
Love that Birds have their own news, too!
If birds have their own news, can we see it? Breaking Bird News!
Probably more like Breaking Bird Tweets π
Best selfie ever!
Oh my gosh can I get the last panel in plus sized?! <3
This was so perfect for a Monday. I lost it at Elvis and “Bird news”!
Leave it to the interns to get things rolling!
“Smile!”
“NEVER!”
The last panel, too funny, grouchy cat Elvis, love that cat!! Beatrix is so into social media, needs a fitbit watch, etc, tee hee!!
bahahahaha “How does the station tweet?” “Birds have their own news.” LOVE IT. Will we have a “Breaking BIrd News Special Report” at some point?
“This just in… Puck is in the window staring at us. Again.”
They may show up in the future. π
My she is a busy little cat! I can just see her running around the house making sure everything is just right. I guess it takes a kitten to bring BCN into the modern world. Love the selfie and photo bomb.
Unfortunately I’m probably the only human on Earth who isn’t on Twitter, but I did love the selfieline and the mouse photobomber.
I do not do Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc and I still have a flip phone! I think I qualify for the title of “Last Dinosaur on Earth”!
I’ve never had any sort of cell phone, so if you’re a dinosaur, I guess that makes me a trilobite!
Well, there’s at least two of us, so while you may not be the last dinosaur, at least we’re not extinct yet!
I guess I’m what you might call a Dinosaur/Technophile hybrid. I got into computer programming 30-some-odd years ago (our first computer was the original IBM PC), but my skills have not even come close to keeping up with the times. Never fear, I will not! Elvis would be very upset with me too. π
Help! I still can’t get the comic image to load! Everything before 4/7 is fine fine, then – no comic!
Beatrix is such a happy cat with so much energy.
last panel had me lol out loud.

Georgia,
Is there a way I can contact you (non public) with a suggestion for the aforementioned t-shirt possibly?
Thanks
Yes! You can email me at either georgiadunnstudio@gmail.com or breakingcatnews@gmail.com . π
PHOTO BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful story! And I got to use it to recruit a new BCN fan. Get me that T-Shirt!
Testing the new Gravatar
Haha! That looks great!
LOL! Bea the self appointed social media intern!
This little gal is such a go getter and will keep the boys on their toes. Everything about this strip is just fabulous and the selfie in the last panel is priceless. Photo bomb for the win!

OMG – I didn’t even get to the end before I had to go to Twitter to check that the account was real!
You’ve outdone yourself, Georgia. Every panel, every line is just classic !! πΊ
Thank you!!

I wonder if the bird news has a reporter that thinks cats are weather? π
LOL!!! That last panel! I want it as a poster! π It’s so perfectly captures all of their personalities: Beatrix = excited, Lupin = excited and eager, Elvis = angry, and Puck = speechless and puzzled! I love it!
A million cheeky giggles@”bird have their own news”
Oh! and I forgot the robber mouse! Just noticed her! π
This was the highlight of my Monday. I love Elvis’ face in panel 2! He’s such a sweetie with Bea.
Love it!
PS: I love that a Robber Mouse found her way into the picture.
Puck in the background with his newspaper may be thinking that paper like books hold body heat and smell lke the past. Apologies to Tommy for this thought.
Georgia, that last panel may well be the best single panel you’ve done. It’s just…so delightfully over the top.
Wow!
Hilarious and yet so simple! Love BCN as always. Myself, I don’t have a FaceXpaces or a ChatBook page; I signed up a @BirdChirp (twitter) account in November because I needed some social media account to redeem *mumble*, and stalking @BreakingCatNews is the first action I’ve taken with it. Fan of the old school, Pastangum J. Felinix

She shouldn’t know any more about it than her co-cats. It’s more than a generational thing.
DOOOO EEET!!!
Simple. Beatrix meets all the cool kids at Pawbucks when she makes her coffee/tea runs. π
Can we get actual photos of Beatrix’s adorable Polydactyl toes? Pretty please? I’ll even trade you two pictures of my cats sitting in a box!
Alas, the real Beatrix did not have Polydactyl toes–I’m sorry!! She took them on in honorary fashion when she joined the comic because there were so many requests to include a Poly kitty. If any readers out there have Polydactyl kitties, I’d love them to share photos of their paws for Beatrix!
Smile! NEVER!
(don’t ever change, Your Highness)
He he he it’s like one of those photos they take on amusement park rides!
You have just given Georgia an excellent alibi. Thank you.
If you can believe in talking cats, having them on social media should be nothing.
“On the Internet, no one knows you are a dog.” Or a cat.
Adorable!
