Bravo! I love the way everyone’s personality comes through and also that Baba Mouse & the Robber Mice and Tommy & Sophie are celebrating together.
HNY!! and grats on moving back to the west coast!
Thank you, Josh!!!
Wait a minute. Did I miss something big? Time to reread prior comment threads and Georgia Dunn Studios on Facebook.
I haven’t had a chance to formally announce it (I’ve only mentioned it a little on Twitter so far) but we are moving to California soon… Very soon!
You’re moving again?
We are! I will have more on that most likely tomorrow! Nothing will change in the comic, but in real life our family (and our kitties of course!) is moving in California. The Man got a new job!
North or south?
South 🙂
Oh gosh! What will you do with no more snow to shovel? =) Congrats, and Happy Mew Year!
How far south? One of my former students from here in Michigan took a teaching job this fall in Escondido, about 30 miles north of San Diego.
Somewhere in Orange County, I believe!
Ooo congrats! I hope Elvis won’t be very angry. :p
I just KNEW this one would come closer to midnight (east coast time anyway) tonight!
Happy New Year to all.
Loved Lupin and the hats and seeing everyone in their finest.
Beautiful and rich in detail as always.
From all our kitties to all your’s a very happy mew year!
YAY! The gang’s all here to ring in the new year. I almost didn’t recognize the robber mice without their striped shirts. Elvis looks so dapper in his tux complete with cummerbund, and I’m stealing his resolution! Happy New Year to Georgia, The Man, Elvis, Puck, & Lupin. Here’s hoping 2016 will be a wonderful year for all BCN fans and their furry friends!
Happy New Year to you as well! May 2016 bring prosperity and joy to you and your family beyond your wildest dreams, Georgia! I would love to see panel 4 in a t-shirt or as a poster. I treated myself and my family and friends to BCN items from Zazzle for Christmas this year to the great delight of all. What a wonderful way to brighten the day—Breaking Cat News!
I like Buzzy mouse’s Tuxedo. Thanks for the whole year gone and another year of laughs to come, Georgia.
Happy New Year, Georgia! May the coming year be filled with blessings, good health, financial security, and everything you need/want! Thank you for BCN and for making me laugh all year. Bless!
May 2016 be the year you all win the lottery!
Happy New Year! Looking forward to another one filled with BCN!
happy happy New year everyone!
I’m here waiting for Kathy Griffith to plant a big wet one on Anderson Cooper #cnnnye
HAPPY NEW YEARS THANK YOU
Absolute perfection! Happy New Year to one and all!
The boys have the best resolutions! Happy New Year and continue being awesome, BCN!
love the ball drop (kick)
Happy New Year. My favourite part is secret agent Buzzy Mouse 😉
In other words, Mouse, Buzzy Mouse.
Go go gadget pull string…..
Happy New YearGeorgia!😺 Thank you for your gifts that give us BCN.
So nice to see the cats not fleeing the festivities. Our kitties have never been too fond of the noise that comes with New Year’s…
Love the group shots! Baba Mouse with the Robber Mice is adorable. Finding out their backstory together would be interesting…and I’m betting it’s in the running already. Happy New Year, all!
The dinner jackets and fancy dresses! Even Buzzy Mouse in a tux!!! Thank you for all the joy you have brought us this year – wishing you a fabulous new year!
Happy New Year!!!
This will be be a great year for you and Ryan.
Love you!
M.
Happy New Year to you and yours, and thank you for sharing with us in the past two years!
Happy New Year, Georgia! Thank you for making the universe funnier, kinder, and better.
The Robber Mice redeemed – Love it! Keep us all Happy this new year with more BCN.
Happy New Year BCN family! You made my year🎉🎉!!!
Thank you for a delightful 2015 and best wishes for a happy, healthy new year!
What a pleasure to do my e mail check and find Breaking Cat News, New Year Celebration, bacon hors d’houres and all! Love every panel! HAppy New Year to all.
Buzzy Mouse gets a speaking line! Oh and happy new year.
Happy Mew Year! Here’s to a BCN filled 2016!
How wonderfully dapper our little gentlemen cats are tonight! Their fancy duds reflect their personalities so well. Though I couldn’t imagine Tommy or Burt dressing in traditional black tie attire, they’re still dressed just as special. And Elvis has the James Bond look down perfectly. As for the lady cats — very elegant and classy! I love Sophie’s dress.
Even Baba Mouse has sparkly sequins on her dress, and the lady Robber Mice and Buzzy Mouse are dressed fancy! So what’s the Man’s and Woman’s excuse? Couldn’t go the extra mile to match their tasteful feline family members? 😉
Sweet Elvis — despite his gruff exterior, he shows loving concern for ‘his’ baby that the Man and Woman are oblivious to. And I oder how Lupin was able to keep the party hat on his chin? When I saw the hats over his ears, I chuckled. But then, one on his chin? Funny boy!
You’re really have to stop writing such good comics, Georgia. It’s gotten to the point where I’m not just looking forward to them on Mondays and Thursdays but poitively craving them and wanting them every day. Doesn’t that constitute an addiction? I’m hooked for sure.
Happy Mew Year, jolly journalists! <3
Happy New Year to all! 2015 was not my best year but I have been cheered up many times by Georgia and all in BCN. Some days I didn’t think I could wait to see the next cartoon. Especially the ones that were a series. Georgia, thank you for sharing your wonderful sense of humor, your artistic talent and the BCN characters who have taken on a life of their own. I love every one of them and look forward to all their adventures, antics and tender moments of 2016!!
Pucky and Tommy (my favorites) look so dapper in their tuxes. Everyone is very festive. Makes me so happy. Happy New Year to you Georgia and to your family. Hope 2016 will be even more successful than this year for you. You and BCN do more to lift people’s spirits than anything else I know.
As a transplanted New Yorker to California, welcome and say goodbye to the cold weather.
BCN for 2016 will be even more awesome!!
Happy New Year to one and all. Every single panel filled me with joy. Sure do hope all the furry faces are going with you to CA. Thank you again for sharing your incredible talents with us, Georgia, you are amazing!
“I will change nothing about myself. And carry on being awesome.” Thank you, Elvis, for the best catittude of all! 🙂
Happy 2016 and joy for all! Good luck on your move to you & yours, Georgia!
Happy New Year, everyone.
Thanks for so many smiles and laughs, Georgia.
Happy New Year to the People and all the critters! The boys are especially dapper and the ladies lovely. We wonder what Burt has in that ever present thermos. An adult beverage to go with that smoking jacket? Thank you, Georgia, for 2 wonderful years and promises of more from the West!
Those are some NY Resolutions I can support!! Happy New Year 2016 🙂
PS Is the countdown an homage to Futurama?
No, alas, I just meant it as a New Year’s Countdown where a broadcast cuts to different parts of the world. I don’t think I have seen their New Year’s episode!
It was the pilot/premiere episode of Futurama. There were actually 2 NYE countdowns in it. This is the second, can’t find the first which is more like yours.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhW12va2y1g
(Click on the title bar at the top to get it in YouTube so you can see it in full.)
Thank you, Paul!!! I love Futurama and not sure if I’ve seen that one. But if I have, I’ll be happy to watch again.
Since that copy of the episode appears to be gone…
http://youtu.be/blaNJkf7wvo
Oh wow, how did I not think of the first episode?? Haha! I was thinking to myself, “Which one is the NYE episode?” and I asked the Man, “Hey, is there a Futurama NYE episode,” and he asked “…Seriously?” I think they probably meant for it to be like when broadcasts cut to different locations and different reporters too–it’s a really fun thing I feel like news shows and shows like Letterman were doing more in the 80s/90s. I used to love when they’d cut to scenes of crowds celebrating in other places in the world. And for BCN, that’s the scope of their “world,” haha!
Happy 2016 to my BCN friends who point out the little details that I miss. I want all of these strips in a book.
Will the strip move to California? We can’t leave Tommy! (and all the others)
Never fear! The strip itself will stay in the same place, nothing will change in the strip. I decided a while back that wherever life takes us, the comic will stay in the Big Pink House, to keep all the characters. 🙂
Thank you, Georgia! A lot easier to add new characters in the same locale than transporting everyone to a new one. The Bug Pink House and surrounding area is integral to the story, I think.
Just a thought and wholly up to you whether you’d even want to. Futurama got me thinking… Do you think you’d ever consider doing a futuristic take for one BCN episode? Or maybe even a short series? Would love to see what you’d come up with. I know it’s certainly wouldn’t be those bleak post-apocalyptic scenerio!
Hmmm…. I had not considered this before, but I love sci-fi and futuristic stories, so maybe it will work its way in one day! Thank you for the suggestion, Jude!!
We could see the kitties doing Star Trek. Lupin as Kirk, with his sense of adventure; Puck as compassionate McCoy; and Elvis as the logical Spock. Tabitha = Uhura because of language skills. OK, I will stip there… We know they are good at Star Wars. (May the fourth we with you.)
May 2016 be a year full of bacon-wrapped revelry! Thank you Georgia for this wonderful comic.
the hat thing, really? and I gotta have the awesome Elivs as a coffee cup
Happy New Year! – Glückliches, gesundes, neues Jahr!
Happy New Year! Congrats on the move! While I’m glad it will stay in the big pink house…would be interesting to see everyone’s reactions to moving again. New England will miss you, Georgia!!!
Ha-ppy Mew Year!!
Happy Mew Year!
Thank you, Georgia, for a wonderful 2015 with your kitty crew. And best wishes for a fantastic 2016 and a safe, happy relocation to California!
Me and my cat Berlioz live in California, too!Happy new year Breaking Cat News!
Yay!! That’s awesome!
I just posted this write up on Facebook about our impending move, and I thought I should probably post it here, too! The big news is we’re moving to California! The bad news is I have to take a short break from the comic 🙁 The good news is, the comic will be back in February!!! Here’s what I wrote on the FB site, in case you don’t follow there:
“Happy first day of 2016, everyone! We have some very big news to share, which some of you have already seen on Twitter and the BCN site:
The Man has accepted a job offer in California! We are moving in about two weeks!
I am very excited, anxious, and honestly a little overwhelmed. We are tremendously happy for this next adventure, but there is SO. MUCH. PACKING. to do! And so, while I hate to do this… I have to take a short break from the comic. 🙁 I am so sorry. I had even hoped I’d be able to squeeze in a couple of more strips, but it’s looking like we will be leaving our apartment around the 9th, and we need all hands (and paws) on deck. Not to mention, I have to pack up many of the materials I use to create the comic. :/
I’m going to do my very best to ensure the comic returns the first week of February!
I am so sorry, again. I know many of you are already shaking your head at the screen and saying, “Georgia, oh my goodness, we understand, GO PACK, WOMAN!” but still, you know me well enough by now–I hate putting the comic on a break! I miss it too! Haha! Mondays and Thursdays are not the same when the comic is on a break. I will do my best to keep it a short one. Right now our little family really needs 100% of my attention to get us all across the country safely and sanely.
SO MANY awesome things planned for 2016, and I can’t wait to get started! The book is coming out in May! I will be trying out DAILY strips mid year! (Yes, black and white strips Monday through Saturday, with big beautiful Sunday strips… We’ll talk more about that when I return! I have been practicing them since November 2014, and I’m ready to finally let you all see some of them in 2016!) And I will be getting the comic ready for newspapers, with the help of my editor and all the great folks at GoComics! I can’t tell you how frustrated I feel taking a break at this moment, but it’s going to make the rest of 2016 even better, I promise.
Plus, what was it Elvis was saying about an intern? Hmm. I wonder if we’re ever going to hear more on that in the studio….
On Twitter and the BCN site there have already been a lot of questions about our move to California. I’ll do my best to cover them here, and if you have more, feel free to ask in the comments!
<3 Are the boys coming with you??
ABSOLUTELY. Pets are FAMILY. (The children will be coming too 😉 )
<3 How are the boys traveling?
The Man is going to drive our car to California, and the boys will be with him in carriers. This is a trip the boys have taken before (Elvis twice!) They have traveled between Seattle and Rhode Island, and Rhode Island to Southern California is even a bit shorter. They have done very well. Puck does not love it at first, Elvis is very angry the first day or so, and Lupin does not notice. Lupin is happy as a clam the entire time. Elvis and Puck eventually relax into a road routine just in time to arrive at the new destination. The Man is excellent at traveling with the cats, and somewhat of a living saint.
<3 Wait, how are you traveling?
I am going to fly out with the children a few days later. My amazing sister in law is flying with me, so I'm not juggling a baby and a toddler on a plane. A long road trip seemed too hard on a baby, and a plane ride seemed too hard on the cats, so we're all going to be apart for a few days. I hate that bit, but again, we've done this before.
<3 Where can I get my 'Breaking Cat News' fix while you're gone??
GoComics will continue posting the comic on its schedule, and some of my favorite strips are coming up this month! You can find it here: http://www.gocomics.com/breaking-cat-news This break will help me reach another one of my 2016 goals–syncing up the two sites to post the same strips on the same day! (Hopefully sometime in mid-to-late 2016). Say hi to their readers! Share details you’ve found in the past strips. I love everyone on both sites, and if this break gets everyone talking to each other, well, that would be kind of awesome. And very in the spirit of the comic, right? A bunch of new BCN site cats suddenly in the GoComics backyard! All future friends AND YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW IT YET! 😀
<3 Are the boys moving in the comic? What about Tommy, Tabitha, Sir Figaro, and Burt--are we going to lose them??
No. Nothing will change in the comic. I decided a while back that wherever life takes us, the setting of the comic will be the Big Pink House (or Winifred's house, however you think of it! 🙂 ) When I began the comic, we lived in Seattle. We moved to Rhode Island about two months in. I'm from New England originally, and I know New England best. I love the idea of the comic being set in a New England town with four seasons, cat owners who know each other, a house with a long history, etc. It will be good for the comic, I think, and good for me too with such a big change looming.
<3 So... The comic is staying the same, right?
Yes! Please don't worry. The robber mice, Tommy, Tabitha, the barn through the woods, the laundry room downstairs--these are all staying the same.
<3 Will the cats miss each other?
In real life, remember, none of the "cat tribes" have met. Elvis, Puck, and Lupin will stay together. Tabitha and Figaro will stay together. Tommy and Sophie will stay together (cue Sophie's "if we must," sigh). None of the cats will be parted or miss each other, they are all staying with their families, together, where they are loved.
<3 Will the People miss each other?
Yes. I am seriously bummed about moving so far away from Tommy and Sophie's owner, Tabitha and Figaro's owners, and Burt's owners. They're all awesome, and this part is awful. (ALSO I WILL MISS PETTING THEIR CATS, BECAUSE, I MEAN, C'MON. You have not lived until you've received a tiny head bump from Sir Figaro Newton).
<3 Will we meet a California cat?
Mmmmmmmaybe. Readers have noticed there's an entire floor of the Big Pink House we've never interacted with. There is still room for new neighbors.
<3 Look, are we ever getting a dog in the strip? Do dogs even exist in the BCN world? I have this idea for a dog report---
We are not getting a dog (at least not any time soon)...
However... There may be room for a canine correspondent in 2016....
If you're still reading, thank you! I know this was long. I am going to miss everyone while we are packing and traveling, but the Man and I have to focus on making this transition as easy as possible on the kids and cats. They all need their Mom and Dad. The Man needs me to take care of practical matters once we get to California too, to get us settled while he starts his new job. I know many of you understand, but I still need to say how much the comic and all of you mean to me, and how much it will mean when I am suddenly 3,000 miles on the other end of the country and trying to adjust and feel as close to normal as one can after a big move. It's going to be a relief to be able to check in here, on the site, on GoComics, and on Twitter and "see" folks. And it will be a great comfort a month or so from now when I can finally pull my pens and paper back out and just sit down and report the news. The cat news, that is. 🙂 "
First off, let me be the first (at least since the last one) to welcome you Southern California. Someone mentioned the end of “cold” winters, but be aware, you will soon discover that temps in the mid 60s are indeed “cold”. 😉 You will then officially be a Californian.
Looking forward to the further adventures of the BCN/NG teams, even with the addition of a K9 correspondent (maybe make it a service animal, they’re OK). Just not too much tongue flapping and other nasty dog habits, please.
Anywho, keep up the good work, travel safe, and Happy MMXVI.
It’s so funny- I left CA three years ago and live in KY, where we occasionally do hit subzero- but when I go home for Christmas, I do feel cold at 60!
Wimp.
Here in the midwest, it’s currently 30 degrees F, with Freezing rain expected later today.
Wimp? Here in Maine we have had single digit or below-zero temperatures since the New Year. Also, freezing rain? Gimme a break! We have this thing called a wintery mix. Snow, sleet, and freezing rain. The sleet makes the snow really heavy, and then the rain covers it in ice!
I never said that I wasn’t a wimp, just that people in California are wimpier than people are in the midwest.
In the bleak midwinter, no Breaking Cat News to look forward to.
On 11/9/15 I drove from Portland, OR to Harrisburg, PA with my cat and dog. A year and a half before that I had done it the opposite way. I know the Man’s pain (or adventure). It’ll all be good. Make sure you move to the part of CA where they have water. We’ll be here when you get settled.
BTW, I will now think of it as “The Big Pink House.” Thank you!
First — a happy and healthy 2016 to you and your lovely family (which of course, includes children and cats)! Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us this past year — I’m looking forward to more kitty adventures! Congrats to the Man on the new job — I hope it brings him much satisfaction. Good luck on your move!
if The Man and The Boys happen to go through central Kentucky (right off I-64), we, our Boy and our Princess, would be honored to host them overnight.
Thank you for the offer!!! Alas, I don’t know that he is going that way. 🙁
let us know if his plans change.
Georgia, you do not actually say when the stopping starts. (Or I missed it.) Is this the last strip before California?
So, back for around Groundhog’s Day? Could you get a strip out of that?
Good luck on the move. Will the boys be like my ladies of years past? It is difficult to get them into a cat carrier. And at the other end, it is difficult to get them out of the cat carrier.
Quite like the ladies, it sounds, yes! And sadly yes, this is the last strip until February. I am taking a break from packing up the kitchen and bathroom today to approve comments, because I miss everyone already!! Haha!! The good news is, headlines keep popping into my head, so this little break may prove to spawn a lot of ideas for future strips! I hope!
May you have a safe trip and get settled soon. My deaf cat travelled well so I am not surprised Lupin does as well. I am so happy all the cats are staying in the strip and hope to see your sister in the strip also.
Good luck with the move. Very brave to do with two small ones.
Maybe another web cam to tie us over?😀😻
Take your time, we will be here when you get back.
I have been thinking of trying to do another live stream once we are settled! I loved those, and hope to do them a little more regularly in 2016! (Somewhat of a New Year’s resolution, ha!)
You are so sweet to answer everyone’s questions. Best wishes with your move!
Agreed!
Congrats on the move, though I was hoping for some BCN to cheer me up today – I regrettably have to get my cat put down. 🙁
I am so sorry to hear that 🙁 Much love and comfort to you!
Happy New Year! I love the little tuxedos – even Buzzy Mouse has one!
Georgia, I just have to say that even though I await BCN on Mondays and Thursdays with great anticipation, moving is an intense time and I am sure everyone understands. Not only are you and the BCN crew loved but your site is full of such positive and loving cats and people. This is all because of you and your amazing talents. If you can, relax and breath every once in awhile in the next few weeks! Happy Mew Year!
Wow! How exciting…don’t worry about us, knowing that the strip is coming back in February is very cool. Something to look forward to😀 Big hugs!!!i will pray for safe trips for all and an easy transition for the boys..it will be wonderful to hear how all of you are settling in…Happy New year to all☺️☺️☺️
HAPPY MEW YEAR!
The girl cats look so pretty in their dresses.
Beyond cute 🙂
I was so in hopes that Tommy might get a little smooch after having scored so well with his Christmas tree. Any chance of a little romance there? I love all the kitties in this strip because, while they have aspects of humanity, it is no more (except for the talking) than I see in my own home with my pride-in-residence. But the gentle humor, the decency, and the various, real personalities are wonderful. I regularly post the web address to my FB account, hoping to share this marvel with my kitty friends too.
Best of luck in your new home. We’ll all look forward to the 2016 adventures.
Thanks for adding this here, Georgia. I’m not on Facebook.
Meant to add – best of luck with the move, and safe travels!
Best wishes for a safe move…of course we (fans) understand about the hiatus. (Pippin still wants to know about his application for intern…) Happy New Year to all
Happy Mew Year! And good luck on your big move, Georgia – having moved across country (and from country to different country) more than a few times, with cats, I know how nerve-wracking it can be! Just remember to take deep breaths every now and then {g}…. We’ll be in California (visiting my relatives in the San Francisco Bay Area) in early February; I’ll have to make sure to bring my tablet so I can see the returned strip the moment it arrives!
All the best for 2016!
Aahhh Georgia, what a wonderful person you are, such a lovely family, thank you for all the pleasure you give us! Good luck to you all and a really happy mew year!!! X
Happy Mew Year to all!
Love all the furry friends in their finery. (except the people, which cracks me up. That is soooo me!) 😁 Congrats on the new job & move. I am glad you’re keeping the location on the strip. How would Pucky save them from the gorgeous autumn leaves?! I lived in NH for 19 of my 62 yrs & I will always love the character and history of N. Eng. Truth be told, there is something wonderful about each place we’ve lived and I know you will find all those things, all of you will. (SOUTH) Jersey girl, here, btw, but currently up at the tip top of California’s Wild River coast.
Your comment about Elvis and Puck finally getting used to traveling about the time you reach your destination is so funny! We shipped my lab (Pepper) & my cat (Ignatz) back from Spain and then a month later drove to Florida. Iggie yowled until we hit the Delaware Memorial Bridge and by the time we hit Richmond VA, he was hanging 10 (20) on the headrest and checking out the sights. I wouldn’t do that again though after hearing how unsafe that was. That was in ’81. Maybe your guys will be better this time. I saw a video on YouTube about moving with cats. Do you know Cole and Marmalade? That family made a trip from FL to CA.
https://youtu.be/RR2RNwh6PRk
Best of luck.
Your story of Iggie reminds me of the (much) scaled down trip I took with three Siamese the day I brought them home. For about the first five minutes, all three of them were tearing all over the inside of my little Ford Ranger, providing me a few extra holes in my arms and legs along the way. Then they all settled down. I had one curled around my neck like a scarf, one curled up in my lap, and the other one curled up on the seat next to me with his head on my leg. I think they must have figured I was one of them (just bigger, and you know… without all that fur) since their psychotic behaviour didn’t terrify me. What they didn’t know is that I grew up with Siamese, so I knew one of the best ways to handle them when they go nuts is to ignore them (unlike Lupin and Puck, who get some sadistic pleasure out of egging Elvis on 😸).
My son scolded me for reading this one without him!
Will the boys be making any stops along the way to California for a “pawtograph” session?
thanks for sharing your news and also your worries, concerns and all the rest with all of us. you made sure to connect with all your readers on all fronts. that is what makes you and bcn so special. you have a great connection with your readers because you truly care. lots of people in real life and through bcn will be getting blessed with meeting you and family ( cats included) for the first time in 2016.
we will be thinking of you all, missing you,and greatly looking forward to catching upwith everyone in feb. many hugs
p.s what a relief to know the pink house and all it’s residents will be staying.
Thank you so much, Alexa! <3
I made a similar journey with my Man three years ago- from San Francisco to Louisville, Ky. Actually arrived on Jan 1, 2013 🙂 And here in Louisville is where we found our two wonderful kitties! Which is just to say that, moving across the country can be hard, but adventure and seeing the world is fabulous! I wish you all the best!
Oh, and make sure the Man has ‘Hotel California’ on his iphone for whenever he finally hits the Bear Flag Republic- came on as I was actually driving at night on a dark desert highway on my way out, and it was magical <3
That’s awesome! I love when music in real life acts as a soundtrack to our own life events!
Happy mew year!!!
And a happy Mew Year to you, too!
Even though you are going to leave the virtual BCN gang in the pink house, you’ve got to find a way to give us an “On the Road With BCN” episode or two. Pretty please with catnip on it?
I am going to try and post any photos the Man takes on Instagram! And possibly the FB, if I can. My laptop is going to in storage, but I know I will have my phone!
“Bacon wrapped revelry” aka Puck and his stolen hors d’oeuvres. Or as I like to pronounce them, “horse dovers”.
The time will pass quickly, Georgia. Just concentrate on your kids and cats. We, your faithful readers, will re-read the past strips and before we know it a new BCN will arrive. Good luck.
What fun to be making a cross country trip with three cats! Our last trip to California (after several moving horses) included the donkey, the dog and the seven cats. All survived the trip just fine, but it took several days. All of the animals made it not only to our rental home, but two years later into our new home on the mountain. All of them are now at rest, but there are younger horses, donkeys, dogs and cats to carry on! We always want to have some youngsters coming up through the ranks to carry on the traditions. All the best for safe travel to you all. Hugs!
This comic is so great! Thank you so much Georgia for sharing these with us! My wife upon reading the strip immediately fell in love with the frame where Elvis says “I will change nothing about myself. And carry on being awesome.”, I think she wants it as a poster. 🙂 Hope your trip goes well, and looking forward to when you return!
Bon voyage ‘fangy’ Elvis 🙂
Haha!! “I will get in on this hat thing!”–brilliant line from Lupin! 😀 Happy 2016 BCN crew!
Georgia…you have a focused perspective….you and husband will be fine on your route to California….will The Man be taking Route 66…good wishes and prayers on your way……..Amen
i love that the Toddler fell asleep right before midnight, they always do that! 🙂 Best of luck with the move, hope all goes well for you. And best wishes for 2016 – thank you for brightening our 2015 with BCN. 🙂
Best of luck to all the BCN team and their People in 2016 and in their new (real-life) home in California!
Good luck in the new year
Georgia, hope that you have a good move. Welcome to California! No more shoveling snow! Will miss the strip a LOT! Will wait patiently for February to come. God Bless You, the family, and the Extraordinary furry people!
I FINALLY got the memo ! All the BEST to you ALL…on the New Year and your new Life Adventure ! Will be having mild withdrawal symptoms by February, for sure…but the Archive will help (really enjoy looking back at all the fun you have created and your journey as an artist, evident through BCN. Safe journey to you and all…thank you so much for a wonderful 2015 & looking forward to sharing the new one with you & all the “broadcats” & support staff ! More web-casts ? – YES !!!! Hugs & skritches, all !
Absolutely enchanting strip to close out a great year. Best wishes Georgia to you & your family! I love feeling the kindness and affection that emanates from these pages, the whole BCN family that also comprises the lovely folks reading and commenting. I had a lengthy move years ago, in a rental truck with no radio. The last item on the checklist upon leaving the motel each morning was: “did you sedate the cat?” (veterinarian prescribed meds so poor kittie didn’t howl all the way). The days-long ride was very quiet save for the occasional pitiful mewl from the back-seat kennel and the Ramones song ‘I wanna be sedated’ looping through my brain.
Best of luck with the move Georgia! I can’t tell you how much I enjoy Breaking Cat News. I have introduced several cat loving friends to it and they are dedicated readers. I am looking forward to your return in February. Thank you so much for sharing your family with your readers!
I hope your move will bring happiness because you have a great family and 3 lovely cats and a SUPER BIG heart!!!!! So good luck to all of you ! Happy new year !!!!!!!!!!!!
George…prayers for you and the Man and the kittehs for a safe drive and landing.
Oops….sorry, fat fingers this morning, Georgia.
I loved the “Ocho” with GN on the microphones – obviously “Gatos Noticias”.
I continue to laugh every time I see Georgia announcing so cheerfully that she is going to be “completely different ” this year! It’s just hysterical, especially when I have seen people who practically make the same outrageous claims every New Year. And then the man agrees. I love it!!
Also, I hit send too early. Sorry! I just wanted to say how happy I am for the mans new job. I hope the weather being polar opposite, literally, won’t be too hard on everyone. You will still have all the “extra” characters when you move, I hope??
Georgia! why don’t you in February start with comics about the move!
Also, my family moved recently too to a different place but close enough that we can still visit our friends
but you’re moving far away so i guess you have to say goodbye to your friends.
Good luck with the move Georgia!
P.S.
what will be the first day back?
Are you moving to northern or southern California?
Oh! Thank you for the reminder about gocomics.com. I think I can breathe now. 😉
Welcome to so cal. My cats loved moving from north Idaho to Catalina Island. Well, not the move, per se, but– no more dreaded snow! Orange County is going to be quite a change from Rhode Island. Hope you find the right pocket to live in.
PS I am going to miss Tommy. Your drawing of him looking in the window after rescuing Elvis was a heartbreaker.
Oops, I misses the post above about the stripe staying in
the pink house. Hail, Hail, the gangs all here.
If you need any tips about coping with So Cal living (traffic, attitude, etc, drop me a line). I am a native californian whose heart is in the Northwest.
will you be moving into the pacific time zone?
Yes!
Then you will be in the same time zone (but not country) as me!!!
i forgot to mention i’m in North Amrerica
Yay! I have to admit, I love this time zone. I really liked it when we lived in Seattle. Some of it centers around tv; I like mid-morning football games and a really early Macy’s Day Parade! Every year I’d get up early, find a stream of the parade, enjoy it, and then start cooking when it ended at 9am!
Haha! Happy new year. Glad I found this blog.
way to celebrate
PLEASE UPDATE!!
Georgia has told us updates will resume in February.
She just moved across the country with a toddler, a baby and three cats. You think we might give her a little time to get settled and unpack?
NEVER!
Love the comic, sorry you have to move to oppressive California lol – at least the weather’s nice!
Hoping the move is going well and all noses are accounted for 🙂 Just had to look at this strip again for a mini fix and to giggle hard at the fantastic “This year I’m going to be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT” line! XD
Hello! I tend to binge-read your comic, so here I am having caught up since early Nov to learn you’re on pause because of a move. Best of luck, hope the unpacking you’re likely still in the middle of is going smoothly under the cat trio’s “supervision.” Rest up in between, and we’ll see you when you get back into the swing of cartooning!
Miss you guys. Happy Mew Year from Cat-nada.
Good One!
i’m in Catnada too!
I am truly in Cat-nada. I am in Canada, and I have no cats. They are not allowed in the apartment complex that I live in.
sorry to hear that..
i have two cats!
I have one. She arranges me and kneads me like a loaf of bread until I am comfortable to sit/sleep upon.
Every time I come back to the strip I grin!
This comic deserves an Award,
and you to, Georgia!
Why haven’t there been any new postings?
She moved. The strip will resume sometime in February.
