Please let Elvis rescue his cute little friend that helped him!!!!!!!!!! Don’t leave him outside and alone!!!!!! WE LOVE BREAKING CAT NEWS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
Have faith – Elvis is now officially a SUPERHERO!!!!
Just hope Tommy hasn’t been found in his little wonderland, and asked to move on, before the people get there!
Elvis really is a good boy! I love how the boys interview/comfort Elvis. They are also good boys. Thank you for sharing your cats with us in this lovely cartoon.
“thump!” “big drop, i’m okay”, the little shaky feets, braving that outdoors again for Tommy. Elvis, you’re a Hero! we are echoing the refrain…”goooooo elvis!” Georgia you are heroic too!
Go Elvis Go Elvis GO!!!!!!!! This is going to be a wonderful Christmas. I had a cat that ran away once, we had just about given up when on Christmas Eve I woke up to the sound of my family screaming with joy, we found her sitting on our back porch healthy and happy to be home. It was a Christmas miracle, and we still have her today. Her name is snowy.
I love fiction – we can ignore the sordid reality that make up the usual feline politics in our real-world households AND trust that a Siamese will do the right thing 🙂
Yeah, when my cat got trapped outside for almost FOUR WEEKS in the winter (she’s fine, though she was so frighteningly skinny then that you could see her ribs through her long fur), she meowed at the window to be let in. Just like Elvis here. Except afterwards instead of jumping into my arms she ran back to where she had been trapped and refused to let me pick her up until she got distracted by food.
I will admit that I was a bit teary eyed as I drew it, but in a very happy tears way… That might be odd, but sometimes these panels crack me up or make me teary too as I draw them, and that’s when I hope I’m on the right track. (Full disclosure, it may be hormones as the Man and I are expecting Baby Two in April–but it might have just been real tears too, ha!)
Thank you! We are over the Moon! And only recently found out that she’s a girl 🙂 The boys seem to know already, at least, Puck and Elvis are often at my side again these days. Lupin seems to trust that I’ll be alright, ha!
Congratulations! I don’t think it’s hormones. I’ve been blinking back tears all through this Christmas adventure but also laughing all the way. You’ve created characters that touch our hearts. Your artistic instincts are good, so just keep following them. 🙂
I cant believe how invested I am in these wee kitties! I worry for them like our own cats! I want Tommy to have his home back so bad – the last part 5 made me so sad he was at the window looking in 🙁 I hope Elvis saves the day!!!
Another wonderful installment of the Christmas Special!
A question about Panel 10, which I love. Did you draw the flashback to Tommy or is it a reduced/faded copy from the earlier episode? I guess I’m curious to know if you used a computer/software assist. I’m fairly positive you hand-draw everything so I’m wondering if this could be a first for you (at least with this comic).
This was a first for me in the comic, as far as I can remember. I took the image from that earlier panel, and then I took out some of the words and increased the size of the text. And lastly, I faded the image from that panel a little in Photoshop. These are my very, very limited digital skills at work, ha! Hand drawn ends up being much easier for me 95% of the time, but I had really liked that little image of Tommy and wanted to use that exactly.
Ha! I’m lucky if I can draw a stick figure, so my percentages would be the exact opposite. I have to admit I’m torn about that particular image. I love the drawing but it is sooooo hard to see a “sad Tommy”. Either way, it was a brilliant way to bring Elvis’s flashback to life.
LOL at “May I wash your face?” and Elvis doing the ‘step, shake, shake,…step, shake, shake, shake,…step, shake, shake’.
And I’m bawling like a baby thinking about what’s going to happen with Tommy and his people. I’m betting that Elvis will claim that he only did it so Tommy would stop hanging around and looking in their windows!
I’ve been wondering if/how we’ll ever see Tommy again after this series. Hopefully they’ll give him a job as a correspondent – surely CN must need someone to cover news in the (excuse me) eastern block (or wherever he’s from)!
This strip is helping me get through the loss of my beloved Lurleen Marie, my trusted and faithful old lady cat of 20+ years. I know it’s just a comic strip, but it’s giving me some hope along with some good laughs. I’m kitten hunting this weekend and believe she will help the Cosmic Cat Placement Agency send me the right one. One week is too long without a furbaby! And congrats on your new human addition! How wonderful for you!
I’m so sorry for your loss, Joanne! I hope that you find the perfect new fur baby! Or that the perfect new fur baby finds you! 🙂 And thank you very much, we’re all very excited.
The cat sanctuary I work at has lots of fur babies looking for forever homes, but we are a small time local operation so unless you live in the Pacific Northwest….
This is great, although it did remind me of when our chubby orange love muffin was loose for 24 miserable hours a few years back. I couldn’t sleep, imagining all the horrible fates awaiting our fluffy marshmallow. Fortunately, none of them came to pass and he made it home safely. Looking forward to the end of this saga. Happy Holidays to your and yours. I look forward to more exciting BCN in 2015!
I think panel 6 is my favourite. There’s something in the Woman’s expression, loving yet firm, that’s very striking. That, and the complete trust & contentment of Elvis.
Go Elvis!!! 🙂
Why doesn’t Elvis rescue his little friend who rescued him so they all can have a merry Christmas?
That… would be what he’s doing?
Love their expressions in panel 2! Elvis is gonna now save the day for Tommy! Happy Holidays to you all of you!
Panel 10 beautifully done ….. happy, happy, good boy Elvis ……… Smiley smiley me 🙂
I think Elvis is about to be a VERY good boy!
Good, good. Closer to Tommy being happy. Good. Keep it up.
Very good boy, Elvis!!
I love Elvis’s expression in that last panel. Also, I love the *shake shake shake* – such a true kitty thing to do.
ELVIS TO THE RESCUE!!!!
Please let Elvis rescue his cute little friend that helped him!!!!!!!!!! Don’t leave him outside and alone!!!!!! WE LOVE BREAKING CAT NEWS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
YES!!! Go Elvis!!!
Considering his poor sense of direction, I’m not sure that poster will help Elvis achieve his goal. 🙁
This time he only needs to follow his own tracks home.
Have faith – Elvis is now officially a SUPERHERO!!!!
Just hope Tommy hasn’t been found in his little wonderland, and asked to move on, before the people get there!
Elvis is going to be a HERO!
Elvis really is a good boy! I love how the boys interview/comfort Elvis. They are also good boys. Thank you for sharing your cats with us in this lovely cartoon.
Yay Elvis! You’re going to be the best boy!
Shake Shake Shake! Too cute 🙂
Yay Elvis!
Also, LOL at “May I wash your face?”.
Elvis is King!
Yes, Elvis is being “very brave, capable & CLEVER,” …and a VERY good boy.
“thump!” “big drop, i’m okay”, the little shaky feets, braving that outdoors again for Tommy. Elvis, you’re a Hero! we are echoing the refrain…”goooooo elvis!” Georgia you are heroic too!
It was that “Big Drop! I’m okay!” that got me giggling and then laughing helplessly, and then I had to go back to the top and start over.
(Good thing the People like to sleep with the window open, even in winter.)
It’s a New England thing, ha! Although I will say, had Elvis gotten out in real life, I promise, all windows would have been shut! Ha!
Our good boy, Elvis, is indeed being VERY “brave, capable & clever!!”
Go Elvis Go Elvis GO!!!!!!!! This is going to be a wonderful Christmas. Elvis is for the president of the world! For being that good! Or trying to be, will know for sure a bit later, i guess.
CLIFFHANGER?
Also, it’s nice that Puck and Lupin were happy to see him and not “Hey you smell different and wrong, we hate you now”.
I love fiction – we can ignore the sordid reality that make up the usual feline politics in our real-world households AND trust that a Siamese will do the right thing 🙂
HAHA!!! Yes!!!
The entire toon is so adorable! From love from Lupin and Puck to Elvis deciding he is going to be a truly good boy, he’s on his way to rescue Tommy!
Awwww! Elvis is being so thoughtful! The real thing to think about is: What will the people think?
Go, Elvis, GO!!
ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!!
*ducks snowballs thrown*
*Ahem*
Love panel 2… Hugs all around…
Good luck Elvis!!!
Lupin upside down and happy in panel #3 and Elvis’s “lineman for the county” pose in the last (love the back claws detail): so much to love! <3
This is SO COOL!!
oh great, now my eyes are leaking..
Okay, maybe I’m hormonal, but I totally got teary-eyed in the last panel.
Congratulations on the impending addition, Georgia! I look forward to seeing the cats’ reactions to that in BCN someday. 🙂
Thank you! We are over the Moon! And only recently found out that she’s a girl 🙂 The boys seem to know already, at least, Puck and Elvis are often at my side again these days. Lupin seems to trust that I’ll be alright, ha!
Congratulations on the baby! Good to know the boy:girl ratio in the house won’t be completely lopsided.
Congrats! This time the boys might suspect what is about to happen.
Thank you!! I think you’re right–in real life they seem much more calm this time, but nearly as protective!
Congratulations, a baby girl, how wonderful is that 🙂 what a christmas !
Thank you, Barbara! We are so excited!
Congratulations!!!
I came across BCN a few weeks ago, and am completely hooked! It is my favorite comic. I love your drawing!
Thank you!! 😀
Congratulations! I don’t think it’s hormones. I’ve been blinking back tears all through this Christmas adventure but also laughing all the way. You’ve created characters that touch our hearts. Your artistic instincts are good, so just keep following them. 🙂
Scruffles and Bear approve of this meme.
Yay, Elvis! Such a brave and good boy!
Yay Elvis! And yay Georgia! This is so much fun!
I always new Elvis had it in him to be a hero. Go Elvis, go!
I cant believe how invested I am in these wee kitties! I worry for them like our own cats! I want Tommy to have his home back so bad – the last part 5 made me so sad he was at the window looking in 🙁 I hope Elvis saves the day!!!

Loved the image too, it instantly evoked Tommys sadness in the previous comic, even though this one is so full of joy.
I knew Elvis spotted the poster!!! Go Elvis!!!! Brave, capable and clever!!!!
I think I like where this is headed – I knew you (and Elvis!)wouldn’t leave Tommy out in the cold!
Congratulations as well on the impending arrival of your little girl! I hope you, the Man, the Baby, Lupin, Elvis, and Puck enjoy the holidays!
PS – I am sending out my BCN Christmas cards this weekend – I just love them and think these are the best cards we’ve ever sent out!
Love this episode, every panel. Love that Elvis is clinging to his food bowl while getting hugs in panel 2.
LOL at “May I wash your face?” and Elvis doing the ‘step, shake, shake,…step, shake, shake, shake,…step, shake, shake’.

I may have some plans. 😉
Elvis, you a superhero! or a supercat? :))
Elvis is being so brave! Even more impressive, how much of a fraidycat he usually is.
OMG the feels, I’m gonna cry….
I think I may cry. Yay for Elvis!

So many upsides to this for Elvis. Not only does he get to be a Good Boy but he gets to get his backyard back. )

TIME TO BE GOOD BOY!
Go Elvis!
When you introduce the new baby, will you rename the baby as the toddler and call the new baby the baby?
That’s exactly what I was thinking, actually! I may tweak it a little, but it will be something close to that.
Oh hurry! It’s Monday and we NEED our next chapter in the saga! Anxiously awaiting!
Soon! Soon! I’m scanning it right now!! It should be up sometime in the next 20 minutes, if all goes well!
Thank you.
AAAAAAHHHH!! I missed this one!! It’s SO GREAT!! I love heroic Elvis 🙂
I think panel 6 is my favourite. There’s something in the Woman’s expression, loving yet firm, that’s very striking. That, and the complete trust & contentment of Elvis.
We are so in LOVE with this strip! Next trip to bookstore gonna find the REST OF THE STORY! Purrs, catnip & cuddles to all of you & the loyal readers!
