Chapter: Holiday News
Characters: Elvis, Lupin, Puck, Sir Figaro Newton, Tabitha, Tabitha and Figaro's Woman, The Baby, The Toddler, The Woman, Tillie
Oh my gosh! I love this Halloween Special sooo much! <3
“Cool your paws, daffodil.” Absolutely delightful! And Elvis is so sly. I laughed out loud and woke up the cat.
I laughed out loud, too!
Yes, finally. I’ve been waiting all day for this π
Can the toddler see Tillie too? And we finally got to see Tabitha and Sir Figaro Newton’s owner.
Haha, yes bring the kids to look for photos of grizzly deaths π
Loved this, as usual. Looking foward to the continuation π
Oh my god, I’m laughing so hard. “I’ll bring the kids!”
And delightedly smug Elvis. And poofy Tabitha (as if she wasn’t formidable already)!!
This is like something we say in our house-hold! LOL
Iβm glad I wasnβt the only one who found that hilarious.
Found it hilarious too. They talk as if they are going on a picnic. :p
Ha! “I’ll bring the kids!”
Tabitha all puffed up and ready to fight? “She must be vanquished!!” That’s our bad ass little tabby!
Although I have to ask… is Figaro hiding?
Ghost, haunted house. My guess is it’s all a dream
OR IS IT!?
Tabitha floofy! Awesome! Plus the dignified rearrangement of the fur post-floof. Tillie has such expressive eyebrows too x
Love this, Georgia, as I do all your work. Um…. there’s one tiny, easily correctable error. I think the word should be “grisly.” (I found the same error in a novel set in the West and expected a bear to show up. It never did, and I finally realized it was a typo.)
So cute and fascinating!
One minor nit: it’s ‘grisly’, not ‘grizzly’. Unless there’s a bear involved…
Maybe that’s the Canadian spelling. I remember Georgia dropping a superfluous “u” or two before.
I’m posting this before reading all of the comments, so if someone else said something similar, I still get credit. π
Georgia Dunn is not Canadian.
Or “gristly” if you’re talking about a bad cut of steak π And actually “grizzly” can also refer to things other than bears… like the current appearance of my face.
Nice catch, though, and obviously it was corrected before I got here (or I’d have caught it myself).
way to be a lil smug there Elvis π
I’ll bring the kids. Lol
Continuing to love the adventures of Ghost Kitty. What ever story is revealed, I hope it isn’t too tragic. I’m still weepy eyed from the adoption strip.
At the risk of being too critical, unless they were killed by bears, you meant to write “grisly” death.
I STILL think Elvis and Tabitha have a bit of a crush on each other.
Sure seems like it at times, they definitely have similar personalities in the comic
“Cool your paws Daffodil!” Love it, love it, love it. Fun to see the always-so-cool Tilly in a puffy snit. What a great installment.
Oops…name confusion! Tabitha’s having the poofy fit, and Tillie is ever so cool. Sorry ’bout that.
Not to weigh apples?
Ha, love it, is that a current local expression or did you look up some old ones?
I’m proud to say I sort of hobbled that together from “apples to oranges” and “weigh in” with an opinion. It could have been a real expression I heard somewhere, though, it feels like a real thing!
Horray!! At last! I kept coming back and refreshing my screen to see if the new instalment had come yet! π I just adore puffy, freaked out Tabitha in this! She’s so darling! <3 LOL@Elvis in panel 11! "Hello Tabitha I couldn't help but notice you're crazy now"–so perfectly sarcastic of him! *clapping hands* Oooo wonder who Freddie is? Could it be Freddie Krueger perhaps?
Wait a moment–did she say she’d bring the “kids”?? Who’s kids? Hers? Ooooo!
Ahhhh okay, I didn’t realise the word bubble was coming from the Woman, *embarrassed giggles* I thought it was coming from Tillie. My bad! :p
But uh…I hate to be a kibitzer, but … it’s “grisly” death.
Many thanks to Shena for catching my “grisly” error of using the wrong form of grisly…. Bahhhh, how embarrassing! I just corrected it in the strip. Please forgive me folks! *HIDES UNDER THE INTERNET*
I *LOVE* this – Hides under the internet!! That’s a perfect explanation for some of my days. I’m off to hide under the internet until Thursday! ::humming a little hiding tune::
I really love this story. People who’ve lived with cats for many years are well aware that they can sense things that are beyond the range of human perception. Thanks for your consistently enjoyable strip!
I am loving Tillie !! Tabitha’s reaction to her, and Elvis’s reaction to Tabitha….. priceless !! πΊ
‘Not to weigh apples’……I will go to the top of our stairs
Relaxing before work, I heard the summons from his excellency,
Purr-fect timing and hold on….
POOFY TABITHA!!! WINNER!!!
(I almost fell off my chair in the work break room)
Basement?? Hmm the return of Lupin and the fedora???
Thank you Georgia and BCN news team!!!
P.S. Loved Tommy’s “Nevermore” picture on Facebook..it made my day..
Love that these neighbors both think along spooky lines and that Georgia wants to expose the kids to a possible grisly tragedy when they’re young.
Where is Sir Figaro? Will we ever find out what “addition” Tillie’s looking for? Tune in Thursday, same cat time, same cat channel!
Just saw Sir Fig in the last panel. YAY!
Saw Sir Figaro peaking out at the bottom of the last frame!
It is possible that “Maybe we can find a hint of a grisly death or a terrible tragedy.” “I’ll bring the kids!” is one of my favorite lines in this strip ever! (Although I’m also partial to “Hello Tabitha. I couldn’t help but notice you’re crazy now.”
Lol Tabitha is territorial no? Fun to see her ruffled up.
I love Tillie sticking out her tongue at Tabitha. Maybe the new addition refers to the renovation from one house to apartments. Figaro and Tabitha’s apartment is the new addition.
I just now noticed Tillie sticking out her tongue. That’s awesome!
I’m surprised no one has mentioned ghost-kitty sticking her tongue out at Tabitha! Made me laugh out loud.
Love it! And love your Drawlloween series. I really look forward to Mondays and Thursdays.
“I’ll bring the kids!” That really brightened my day.
“I’ll bring the kids!” Sure! Kids LOVE grisly deaths and horrible tragedies!
“There’s been a disturbance in the Force” ..er.. “on the ceiling” – Hahah!
I’m loving Tillie’s brash and sassy attitude– what fun! Also interesting to see Tabitha so far removed from her normally demure and collected self. “Wrong thing at the wrong time” Elvis continues his streak as well. This is getting more interesting by the panel; can’t wait for the next one!
The plot thickens! Can’t wait till those family photos are trotted out.
And Freddie?! Who is Freddie. Freddie’s Dead—
I didn’t recognize Tabitha at first, love her all puffy and agressive, She Must be Vanquished, love it! You two ladies are pretty relaxed about taking the children downstairs. And where is the Man, shouldn’t he have had the washer fixed by now??? I predict Tabitha & Elvis fall in love…eventually.
I predict the same! Where there’s anger, there’s sure to be passion! π I think Tabitha’s alpha femaleness and Elvis’ alpha maleness are rubbing against each other.
Wow, Tabitha on high fluff! This is becoming quite a Halloween adventure! More, more!
Is the toddler pointing to Tabitha because she’s all puffy or is he pointing to Tillie?
While I should not say, so folks can interpret it as they wish…
(…I think he is looking at Tillie π )
Yes, didn’t notice that in the last panel. So many great things hidden in every panel!
*cryinglaughing* at “I couldn’t help but notice you’re crazy now”
Also: Yay that Figaro shows up in the last panel!
I just love this and can’t wait till the next installment. Tabitha being all puffy just like Elvis. Could they be made for each other. π»
Ha! Tabitha “There is a strange female in the building and she must be VANQUISHED!”
This is so very much an alpha calico reaction. π
Can she see Tilli or just sense her though?
Yes, very much how a calico or tortie thinks! I had adopted one rich coloured calico kitten and she had a fish hook caught in her cheek so I took her to the vet to remove it. I loved my vet’s comment “So you know she’s going to be full of beans? Calicos always are.” She said the darker theIR colours are, the more spunky and lively they seem to be and sh was right!
Knowing something about genetics, characteristics and how genes work, it’s possible the genes for that sort of personality and those for their colouring lie very close to each other on the same chromosome. It means when one trait is expressed, it’s much more likely the other will be too.
Just a little biology lesson in case anyone’s curious why calicos and torties are like that. π
“Grizzly” could still be appropriate since it can mean hair streked with gray. Might fit well with being scared by the house ghost.
you only have to read a few of the old children’s stories to know that the bloodier and scarier the more the little kiddies like it
“Cool your paws, daffodil!” What a great line!! Can’t wait to see what event befell our ghost kitty….
Elvis has a crush on Tabitha, methinks.
Btw, I grew up in a huge old Victorian house, and they’re marvelous. Though for what it’s worth, the boxes would probably be in the huge dry attic, not the dank coal-smelling basement.
So much fluffage on a cross alpha kitty π
LOVE that Strange Female line! Heaven help any female strays who happen to wander in and schmooze their way into a home in this house.
So…Puck, Tabitha, and the Kids can see Tillie. Figaro’s MIA, and from the description of Hiss Hiss Yowl from the ceiling he’s probably hiding somewhere wondering why Tabitha’s gone crazy. And even when the Toddler who CAN talk sees Tillie he isn’t articulate enough to convey “Look, Mommy, a see-through kitty!”
Is the upstairs Woman being silly or is she being morbid when she starts on about “grisly death”? Could go either way…
Whups, found Figaro in the last panel. He’s probably still wondering why Tabitha’s gone crazy, though, if he can’t see Tillie.
Ok, just have to comment on how hilarious this is:
“Let’s look for grisley deaths that have happened here!” “Yay! I’ll get the kids!”
I thought “Puffy” was my favorite Elvis variant, but the “Snarky”version in the second to last panel wins at everything. βI couldnβt help but notice youβre crazy now.β <3
Reminds me of a bit from an obscure Britcom.
“I’m taking the kids to see The Exorcist.”
“Good movie.”
“What movie?”
You got me good – laughing so hard at “I’ll bring the kids.” Tabitha is one jealous cat, I have also noticed.
Disturbance on the ceiling. Disturbance in the Force. Coincidence?
XD Figaro in the last one
I hope that you get the pictures of the other cats up soon!
I’ve tried to comment a couple of times and it hasn’t worked so I’m giving it a final try π I love the mystery and I love Tabithas “fuzziness” at having a strange female in the house. Elvis made me laugh with his comments to her. But Lupin’s opening lines reminded me of William Shatner in that Twilight Zone where he sees a gremlin on the wing of his plane..can’t wait til Thursday to read moreπππ
This time worked, hooray!! And thank you!
These are so oolong good. I absolutely cannot wait for the next segment. Halloween Fun!!!!!!
I’ll bring the kids????
How about…I’ll babysit while you search?
I know, I’m a BIG fraidy-cat!
;-D
LOL, Nothing sure why auto correct changed my sooooooooo to a type of tea. I hope you understood the comment anyhoo! !
I did!! Unrelated/sort of related, hooray for tea!
Sooo…. Tillie’s Man was named Freddie. The headstones outside refer to members of a Quinn family.
I’m pretty sure it’s just a coincidence, but for me (I’m from Germany) all this right now sums up to give me the impression Tillie has been the cat of an Austrian singer/actor. He’s still alive, though. π
(Look up Freddy Quinn at Wikipedia)
Love your comic, BTW. Keep up the great work!
This breaking cat news is so great. It brighten’s my day. I love this Halloween series.
First: puffy Tabitha just may be funnier than puffy Elvis (also love Elvis’ little comment to his nemesis);
Second: I love meeting Upstairs Woman;
Third: puffy Tabitha looks more like my Pond than ever (Pond also wants to vanquish all other cats);
Fourth: Saying ,”I’ll bring the kids” when someone suggests looking for evidence of a “grisly death or a terrible tragedy” puts you fully in line with my way of Halloween thinking and with the great illustrator/cartoonist Charles Addams π
Thank you (and your inner Morticia) again and again for doing this! =^..^=
Thank you, Aimz!!! π
I always guessed Tabitha and Sir Figaro Newton’s People would be Hispanic. So much for that theory.
I thought that too, though logically Sir Figero would’ve learnt to speak from his mum, so I suppose it’s his cat family who are hispanic. Lucky for him that he ended up with multi lingual Tabitha as his flat-mate!
If your house does have a collection of pictures, it could be a treasure!

This is awesome! I so wish it did, I love going through old photos and papers!
So much enjoyment! Thanks x
In panel 9 Tabitha is smoothing down her poofy hair. It’s these little touches that make me love this strip.
So I gather that finding Figaro is going to be a thing from now on. Is he in the sock basket? Is he hiding behind his woman?
Woah! Never thought I would see the day when Tabitha loses her cool.
Puffy Tabitha is priceless, as is Elvis’ snarky remark. I love when the two of them get to interact. I was especially tickled by the “grisly death!” “I’ll bring the kids!” exchange. Rooting through old photos and hunting up ghostly evidence sounds like fun to me! This just keeps getting better.
Murder! Mayhem!
We’ll make a day of it — we’ll pack a lunch!
βMaybe we can find a hint of a grisly death or a terrible tragedy!β
βIβll bring the kids!β
That gave me a genuine belly laugh.
