Uhoh…ghost cat. hmmm.
We have a closed in deck (that the cats cant really get off of) that my cat chases leaves on. She’ll bring them in and drop them at our feet with a little meow-prrp. She’s so proud.
It will be! And that is truly the Toddler’s very favorite thing to do right now. We have to be extra careful where we place our clean, folded laundry or he “helps” us by tossing it into the laundry pile.
…He also recently helped us by emptying his little bureau’s drawers into the laundry pile. We should have stopped him–and we will pay for it when he tries again–but sweet Lord, it was just so cute and he was so convinced he had found a bunch of laundry that needed sorting.
Alas, the tag that links all of his strips is still under “the baby.” I have to take some time to change it one of these days! (I’m miserable at computers, it’s a wonder the site has functioned this long!)

Lady Mel, you never met my kitties! Every cat I’ve had were adopted as strays except one I got for my grown son (when he was a little guy). They had very definite likes and, I’d go as far as saying, hates. I have a living cheerful best girl ever now who’s all black. She absolutely HATES every cat she sees in her back yard that was once her home before I rescued her – except if the cat’s black. Then, she chirps and calls to them. I had another black cat I rescued who was the same. Silly cats!
And I’ve had greedy kitties too. One would eat his food as fast as he could so he could take the other kitties’ food. I had to feed him separately. He did the same with catnip. But I did have one cat I rescued as a big grown tom that I had neutered. He was a love bug and even acted as an ‘auntie’ for some kittens I rescued. When their mom stopped nursing them, he even let one needy kitten suckle on his tummy fur. He was a sweetheart.
Oh no! Please check your spam or other email folders. Recently a few people have had emails caught by those. As the subscribers go up, the emails are increasingly triggering some mass email spam catchers. I’m sorry!
Could that be “Nellie Bly, girl reporter ” from the early 1900’s in New York City ? I loved those books when I was a kid. Maybe rename as “Callie Bly ” or “kitty Bly”
Forgot to add, love Elvis as family man/ head of household. I always designate one of my girls to be in charge of the dog when I leave, but it is usually my little kitler nazi kitty, Chuck.
Love the ghost cat with her little reporter’s notebook but I have a question. How would a cat-produced newspaper ever get distributed? As soon as the paper came off the press a cat would sit on it.
“Cats, like computers, can see into alternate dimensions. The trick is getting them to do it when you want them to, not when they happen to feel like it.” – Douglas Adams (I believe)
I dunno, Louise Lloyd. I was in awe of your DH’s ability to blow leaves with brainpower. This would, however, explain why all my leaves just … sat there, no matter how much brainpower I focused on them. Spell-check fail, not brainpower deficiency. [ahem]
We have a ghost cat. It shows up regularly whenever it starts getting cold outside, every year since we moved in back in 2000. It’s not any of the (once three, now two) live cats we share our house with. It mostly hangs out in the living room and stays just in the corner of our eyes. All three of us (me, wife, son) have seen it. It goes back outside in the spring when it’s warm. We don’t mind it at all, it never misses the litterbox and doesn’t leave hairballs around.
We actually have a ghost in our house! One cat could care less and the other guards the door to our apartment (second floor apt over a business) on occasion. I work on the first floor so have made peace and a sort of live and let live agreement with the ghost. He doesn’t bother us and he can stay. But cats do see! Lol
The ghostly reporter cat reminds me of the intrepid Jane Grey who ran a controversial newspaper in St. Cloud Minnesota in the late 1800’s taking all the “establishment” to task… Thugs threw her press into the Mississippi River, but then cooler heads prevailed and she continued her reporting by agreeing to shut down her publication and then promptly started another!

Breaking Cat News has some young readers, and as a parent myself I try to keep it safe. I’m proud to report there has been very little trouble, but still, this is the Internet and one can’t be too careful.
There is definately a ghost in the machine.
Yesterday I received the whole comic 🙂 today it’s only the comments!
It’s all getting strangerer and strangerer – whoooooo
Love it Georgia. Didn’t expect a thursday strip as you sent out your best one ever on Wed!!! what a wonderful surprise. love Elvis as “the man”. So glad Puck is having an adventure, I’m wondering if Elvis & Lupin will be able to see her too?? Ooooh will he be helping her right a wrong so she can go on to her final destination?? Can’t wait!
I just love these holiday story lines. I can’t wait for the next report. Ghost Cat looks like she’s all business & attitude. A relative, or perhaps a previous tenet ?
Greetings fellow viewers! I occasionally feel a phantom swish on my ankles, like a cat brushing by. I will look down expecting to see one of my crew, and none of them are there. I’m sure it’s my Litta-Girl Cat, who is buried beneath the lilacs. She had a good life. Georgia, I have to tell you, I binge-read BCN every couple weeks, and it makes me love my own cats and their every-little nuance even more. Thank you. Print request: Sunshine = one note / Rain = symphony. Best wishes.
Thank you, Kjel!! 😀 There seems to be a resident kitty spitit in our old building who has partly inspired this story! I will say more as the month goes on. 😉
Our Christmas tree has a little ornament which turns on and off the lights by touch. We would turn it off before bed, and our little ghost never failed to turn them back on by morning.
I, too, had a visit from a ghost kitty. It was our lovely all-gray Smokey. About three months after he went to kitty heaven, I saw him lolling in his favorite spot on the couch late one night (the lights were off, but his eyes were shining like the dickens). I’m also sure I could hear his gravely “meow” a couple of times.
Looking forward to the further adventures of Kitty Bly!
Georgia, I’ve read every comic you’ve done and been reading them for a while so I figured it’s about time I signed up for new ones. Your kitties are adorable and I love how different their personalities are – just like real cats.
Is it only Puck who likes to sniff noses? And does he like sniffing his humans’ noses too?

eeeeeeeeeeeee! leaves! ghostly kitty! hummingbirds! elvis is the man! <3
😉
Love the Toddler in the laundry. Will this be a month-long Halloween special?
Sounds like he’s spent a lifetime learning from the cats!
A little bug – you seem to have tagged this with “The Baby,” when in fact he is “The Toddler” now. :p
Alas, the tag that links all of his strips is still under “the baby.” I have to take some time to change it one of these days! (I’m miserable at computers, it’s a wonder the site has functioned this long!)
You may want to change them to the boy and the girl so you won’t have ro redo them again later on
Thank you, Roxanne! This was my plan, once the Baby is just a bit older. That’s going to be their “names” in the near future!
Boo!!! Cant wait I am sure this is going to be a lovely story, not too scary I hope hahaha
Puck looks like he’s seen a ghost! Could it be his MOM?
If I were to guess by family resemblance, my guess would gravitate toward Lupin.
cats always see more than we give them credit for!

I absolutely LOVE those! I read them as a kid, I need to go back and give them a good re-reading.

LOVE IT!
Ghost reporter kitty with that notebook?
Mmmmmmmmmaybe 😉
I caught that notebook too!
Is that ghost cat holding a notepad??
It is…
So which is it?, A this a real cat, a ghost, or just a china figurine of a cat?
So, Puck “saving us from the leaves” is just him sitting in the window as the leaves fall? What a purrfectly cat thing to do!
“I have a family to consider now” LOL !!!!
o.0
It’s true! Cats can see things we cannot.
Kewl, a Ghost Kitty! Maybe Pucks mom has come to visit??
Georgia, you’re killin me! Yesterday and now a Halloween serial!!
Oooh, ghost kitty!
And of course Puck, the black cat, sees the ghost… Can’t wait to see more.
Oooo, old timey newspaper reporter ghost cat? I love her hat!
Thank you!!!!!! 😀
I love how she is drawn with obvious sass.
Ooooohhhhh!
GCN: Ghost Cat News! 8-o
The ghostie looks to be a relative of Lupin to us. Is she?
I didn’t get an email for this! I had to find it on your Twitter.
Also…did the robber mice break the washer/dryer?
Oh no! Please check your spam or other email folders. Recently a few people have had emails caught by those. As the subscribers go up, the emails are increasingly triggering some mass email spam catchers. I’m sorry!
So, I got the email about 10 minutes after I left the first comment! Clearly a weird glitch.
Oh strange! I’m glad you got it though!! 🙂

I wondered about Nellie Bly, too. She was real, you know.
I can’t say too much, because I don’t want to spoil things, but I will say…
…I absolutely love Nellie Bly, and I think she did a lot of great things for women in journalism. 🙂
Forgot to add, love Elvis as family man/ head of household. I always designate one of my girls to be in charge of the dog when I leave, but it is usually my little kitler nazi kitty, Chuck.
Pucky’s tail. PUCKY’S TAIL. 🙂
Love the ghost cat with her little reporter’s notebook but I have a question. How would a cat-produced newspaper ever get distributed? As soon as the paper came off the press a cat would sit on it.
Hahahaha!!! That’s true, they would probably have slogans like, “best napping paper around!”
All the news that’s fit to sleep on!

bottlebrush tail! somethin’s up.
=^+^=
My little black cat Puffy used to chase the leaves as my husband blew them into piles with our brainpower. Her nickname was “Dances with Leaves”.
Curse you, spell check! That brain power should be a leaf blower!
I dunno, Louise Lloyd. I was in awe of your DH’s ability to blow leaves with brainpower. This would, however, explain why all my leaves just … sat there, no matter how much brainpower I focused on them. Spell-check fail, not brainpower deficiency. [ahem]
That is the best random autocorrect faux paw I’ve ever seen!
I have to admit, I really loved it myself.
Ghost kitties! Exist!

Elvis: I’m The Man Now! LOL!
Oooh! The suspense!! 😀
Elvis is totally the man.
Intrepid Reporter Ghost Kitty. I love it! Elvis might want to turn around to see what Puck’s bottlebrushing about…
Maybe only Puck can see her? Can’t wait to find out what happens!
I love Elvis going “I’m the Man now” and “I have a family to consider now”. So protective
GHOST CAT! I love BCN.
Loved last Christmas’ story so I can hardy wait for this one.

My first thought also 🙂
There is definately a ghost in the machine.

Oh cool!! I’m so glad that the Holloween Special’s a continuing saga throughout the month! 😀
Is that the cat ghost of “Holloween past?”
Love Elvis’s “I’m the man now.” And poofy Pucky!

What in the????????????????
LOVE this website! Cats totally ‘see’ things . . . ! Fantastic strip Georgia!
Off to a rollicking good start! Nothing like a good ghost story to savour throughout October 🙂
Also, I am certain that Elvis will prove to be a good provider for you all.
so excited that there is another holiday special! Loved the Christmas one.
I wonder if the ceiling cats are in laundry piles too? Is it a shared washer?
Adorable Victorian-era reporter kitty clothes? 😀

The Purr’n of the Screw?
With Fauna taking the place of Flora?
Responses like that Jessel drive me crazy.
Our Christmas tree has a little ornament which turns on and off the lights by touch. We would turn it off before bed, and our little ghost never failed to turn them back on by morning.
…
Mommy.
Aww poor Pucky is scared of ghost kitty Nellie Bly.
I, too, had a visit from a ghost kitty. It was our lovely all-gray Smokey. So now a Ghost Writer is showing up?:) Must be sweeps week;)

Is it only Puck who likes to sniff noses? And does he like sniffing his humans’ noses too?
Thank you, Jude! I like to use the “sniffing noses” line as a sort of greeting the kitties give new kitties. 🙂
