They love newspapers, magazines and anything that crinkles at my house. I just love the beatific expressions on the boy’s faces, especially Lupin showing his tiny fangs in panel seven. And Elvis shows he can still turn on a dime when he got one too many scritches! Too much funny!
One time I had writers’ block and had a spiral notebook open in front of me on the bed, blank, and the cat came and flopped down directly on top of it. Apparently I’d spent too much time and energy working and failed to worship him properly.
I love the last panel in this one. As a lover of cats (especially black ones) and of tiny books (the smallest one I have is 3×3″), I approve of this panel.
Ah, combining two of my very favourite things – cats and books! With those two beings in your house, you need nothing else. Okay, well, maybe like food and water and stuff, but you know…. Says bookloving AliCat
My ex used to call this phenomenon “German philosopher kitty.” I was never quite sure why. I think it had something to do with German philosophers who disapproved of reading? Love all the kitty smiles, and I laughed hard at “I would have preferred 5.”
Our cat actually DISlikes books and magazines. We scatter magazines on all the couches to keep him from napping on them. Somehow, he always seems to find SOME spot where he doesn’t belong, but that we’ve neglected to cat-proof 🙂
Yup, that looks about right. Especially the sun spot part. Oooh – maybe *that’s* why the text book pages are so shiny – to keep students from reading in the sun spots and denying cats their place. The book itself attracts cats, though, so it doesn’t necessarily work. ;P
Our cats don’t care about books all that much other than as something to rub their faces on, but they sure do love to sit between us and whatever we’re reading, paper or tablet.
I usually don’t set my books down on table while I’m reading, so my kitties usually just plant themselves directly between me and my book. Sometimes on a corner of a book if they can get it.
Frost (tabby cat with white streaks) would jump on my mother’s lap at the end of the day, after my mother finished up in the kitchen, leaned back in the recliner and open up the newspaper. She knew she would have mom’s undivided attention.
Used to have a Siamese cat that would lay down on my math book, when was in middle school. No other books, just my math book! Guess he knew I hated math! LOL
Panels 5 and 8 should be shown to all first-time prospective cat caregivers. If they can understand and accept the reality of Elvis, they will do well with the feline kind.
Awww. Elvis in panel 3 looks just like the logo on my webpage! http://www.jodynye.net. Cats do love to lie on any kind of reading matter, especially if you seem VERY interested in it.
So nice to see Elvis smiling! =^..^=
Lupin. Panel 7. That is all.
I disagree. Puck, panel nine is perfect.
That brings us to Elvis, on panel 4. Rarity of that beats everything.
And they love newspapers and laptops at my house. Smiling Elvis in panel 5 is sweet.
Perhaps why book stores and cats go so well together?

5 scritches, NOT 6. BTDT, got the scars to prove it. (Tiny ones; you’d never notice.)
And of course, they get equally upset if you only provide them with 4 scritches…
My cats adore books. None too happy with me since I recently bought a kindle lol
Oh, once they figure out how nice and warm your Kindle is, they’ll be all over it 🙂

I love it when your cats say, “Nope!” I find myself saying it a lot!

Smarmbrow vampire Lupin in panel 7 is disconcerting.
I am also taken aback by his vampiric visage. But I sill love him. That’s cat glamour. Like vampires, they get you to believe that it’s attractive.
Yes it is, although his paw paws are cute
The last 3 panels are priceless and just so cat.
…I just figured out why no cat lives with me…….I don’t read (well, books anyway).
I have a cat who thinks exactly like Elvis in the next-to-last panel.

This has apparently been true since the 15th century! Keep up the amazingly accurate portrayal of the kiddles we all love, Georgia!

Thinking I need to start a Puck fan club! Gosh I love that little man!
I’ll join!
*Crylaugh* at Elvis an his 5 scritch limit. So true!

My cats would argue a laptop, with its heat generation and pleasing keyboard clicking noises is a superior bed.

There’s also a direct correlation between the amount you need or want to read the book and how attractive it is to a feline

If a magazine makes it to the floor at our house, it is immediately sat-upon and usurped by a cat. Smugly.

Ohmygoodness! Puck in that last panel just made my day. hahaha. SO CUTE!
Is the woman allowed 6 scritches?
I am very lucky in that when it comes to Elvis, I seem to have been alotted infinite scritches! 🙂
Frost (tabby cat with white streaks) would jump on my mother’s lap at the end of the day, after my mother finished up in the kitchen, leaned back in the recliner and open up the newspaper. She knew she would have mom’s undivided attention.
“Frosty” not “Frost”.

Lupin is a great anchorman, kind of a Walter Cronk-cat!

This gave me such a giggle! Also, this photo would indicate that kitties enjoyed books well before the printing press came into vogue. 😉 http://public.media.smithsonianmag.com/legacy_blog/cat-paws.jpg
I need panel 9 puck on a bookmark. He is so cuuuttteeeeee..

I would love a tote with this ENTIRE strip on it. I’d take it to every bookstore!
