It’s so funny comparing how humble Puck is for “saving” you guys from all the falling leaves, compared to Elvis being a big braggart about helping with the feast.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!! (And to our friends in other countries, I hope you have just as fabulous of a day. Use our day here as your excuse to enjoy a slice of pie!) I wanted to put the strip up a little early tonight, as many of us here in America will be sitting down to dinners when the Thursday strip typically posts. I hope you enjoy it! I promise I will have to exasperatedly exclaim, “ELVIS GET OFF THE STOVE!” at least four times tomorrow as I cook. He really does believe he is helping….
Have a fantastic day! This year–corny as it sounds–I am very thankful that you all enjoy the strip so much and that you’ve all been so kind and encouraging. Thank you!!!
Thank you too, Georgia! I haven’t posted before, but I have been following BCN since March, and you not only never fail to make me smile, but you also make me even more thankful that I have my own three local “reporters” to keep me informed of Columbus Ohio cat news.
BCN is really something to be thankful for! Elvis on the stove and helping with the feast brings back wonderful memories of my own Siamese who fell in love with the “enormous chickadee” the first time he smelled it and did not let the oven out of his sight until the turkey came out and he got a share. I’m glad your boys got some turkey and enjoyed it. My girls will be enjoying turkey baby food on Thanksgiving dinner. Hope your day is filled with reasons to be thankful.
Thank you!! And it is something we have here called “jellied cranberry sauce.” It comes in a can, and often slides out in a perfect can shape, haha! Despite its shape and consistency, I promise it actually is quite Devine–I love it! (And serve it sliced into circles, ha!)
So they are, I thought the man was looking smart but couldn’t work out why – and is the cow balloon part of the traditional festivities? – confused British person.
That particular cow balloon I made up–but large balloons of beloved cartoons (often animals) are! There is a giant parade in New York City that many of us watch live and it has floats, balloons, Broadway theater performances, and marching bands! (I love it, I even went there in 2009 to see it myself… Took a wrong turn through a hotel lobby and ended up where they hold the giant balloons before they send them out! It was magical 🙂 ).
I just power read through all your strip – and am sad that there aren’t any more. This strip makes me laugh!
I used to have a three-legged cat – but it was his right ‘arm’ that was missing. I miss him, so am glad I can watch Puck’s antics. You have gotten the cat psyche down perfectly!
Aw, see, Elvis IS a good boy — he doesn’t deserve coal in his stocking! He just takes his duties and responsibilities as Senior Cat very seriously. And I think it weighs on him, sometimes… walking the night beat, guarding his family from the forces of harm and progress. I just know he’s got a file on Tommy, AKA Backyard Cat, identifying marks: long tabby fur, chubby tummy; known weaknesses: belly rubs, birds, OTHER PEOPLE’S WINDOWS.
I definitely see him as a Bogart figure, or someone out of Raymond Chandler (paraphrased somewhat): “Down these mean streets a cat must go who is not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid… He must be, to use a rather weathered phrase, a cat of honor”.
I love how you see Elvis, Stuart, thank you!! I see him very much that way myself, in the comic and in real life. He is an excellent guard kitty, and regularly patrols the apartment. And while we see him as a Bogart figure, I think he would be happy to agree. 🙂
This comic just keeps getting better! Makes me smile and giggle without fail every single time. My boyfriend and I yell YAY NEW BREAKING CAT NEWS!!! to each other across the apartment when one of us discovers that a new one is up. I’m glad I dragged my swollen-bellied, weighted-down-by-stuffing self up off the floor to check tonight. Worth it! 🙂
One of my cats tells me when the turkey is done. She is always right. i don’t have to use a thermometer or even look at the clock, i just ask her if she would like to help me cook a turkey before i put it in the oven. She loves to eat roast turkey.
love your strip, thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too! What a sweet strip this is. I am thankful for BCN and the smiles and laughter it brings every single time. 🙂
Happy thanksgiving

I adore the matching puzzled expressions of the baby and Lupin! Happy Thanksgiving American peeps! By the way, what is that delicacy Puck found?

To Puck, Lupin, Elvis, their peeps and l’il peep….Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and much to be thankful for…and thank you for the best news everrrrr
Happy Thanksgiving, Georgia, and thanks again for this wonderful strip! I laughed out loud at least five times reading through this one!
I love the fact Puck and The Man are wearing matching outfits 🙂
Yay!!! Thank you! (Of all the jokes I put into this one, that one was my favorite).

I love all the wee details like this. Hope the boys had turkey in real life too. Happy Thanksgiving from Scotland 🙂
Thank you!! They are enjoying some as I type! 🙂

Thank you so much!! I’m glad you enjoy it. 🙂 Three legged kitties are special, indeed!
Welcome to the fan club commentator!
Wow, that sounds great, hopefully one day I shall come over and see it all x
In the meantime I will learn all I can about American culture from the awesome threesome 🙂
Bless you & your family, Georgia!! I’m thankful for the giggles you give me.

So, so adorable! I will now and forever think of turkeys as “enormous chickadees”.
Also, fistbump for the can-shaped cranberry sauce, an essential element of any winter feast day. 🙂

Prints of these Christmas designs will be available sometime this weekend too! I hope everyone is having a great day-after-Thanksgiving-turkey-snooze!
“I don’t understand this invasion” may be the funniest line in the comic archives so far.
