Everyone is happy and with full tummys. People must still be in the house since Elvis is still on guard duty. And the robber mice took a break from their book club for some ham. Everyone loves ham.
Yay! Ham for all! Puck must be in his glory!!! I hope the Woman sends Tommy’s Woman home with some ham for Sophie. I’d hate to think of Tommy getting home with ham on his breath and her not getting any.
As said before–they are all good boys who deserve ham. And of course the mice got some. They are clever mice who deserve what they can get away with.
Too bad Burt, Baba, and the Upstairs Cats don’t seem to be getting ham. Hopefully Tommy’s Woman will take some home.
Huh? Why would it give you nightmares? Admittedly, old Woundwort is pretty ugly, but no worse than any given politician or corporate tycoon. And how can you not like Kehar? Rabbits with air support—I nearly fell out of my chair, laughing. As for the Black Rabbit of Inle, he’s rather comforting.
As are Georgia’s comics—just a “feel good all over.”
love the book watership down. my paperback copy is well worn in places. down means a field in England language.
the mice have a book club. how wonderful.
alexa88 – down means hill in England. It’s most commonly used in the southern part of the country. Watership Down is in Berkshire, near where Richard Adams grew up.
Ross – its not just General Woundwort, there was also the colony of rabbits who lived a lovely, well fed, life. Just that in order to pay for that, every now and then the farmer snared one for the pot. Also the destruction of the original colony was pretty bad. Oh, and regretfully, there was a naughty cat who nearly ate one of the rabbits (Hazel?).
Yes, there’s a lot of horrifying scenarios in the book, but I still think it’s an amazing story that shows what life is like for wild rabbits, and the rabbits’ own folklore and language are very interesting.
That last panel, hah! I saw someone refer to Watership Down as “the happy bunny story”, and as much as she claimed to love the book, I wondered if she had actually read it!
She didn’t even watch the movie! I gotta say, I cheered when I saw the Watership Down reference, ’cause that’s one of my favorite books (and I’m so due a re-read).
Called it. =Þ
All good cat boys and mice girls deserve ham. But since the party is over, shouldn’t Elvis be finished guarding the coats and be let out now?
And thus the case of the missing ham was solved by the Intrepid Puclock Holmes and his assistant Lupin.
Thanks for the story.
Love the pincushion with the little dangling strawberry!

The oven! Aha! And oh my gosh yes! Watership Down is one of my favorite books. I love the reference.

“You didn’t read the book, did you?” LOL
The News that Mews!

Oh dear. No, she didn’t read the book… *winces* Lovely work as always, Georgia!
I’ve read the book! I even know what a “roo-doo-doo” is! 🙂
Ham mystery solved.
How much ham have the mice taken? I suppose they could be going to smuggle some out to Baba mouse, Burt and Beatrix later on.
Ick, Watership Down. Now I’m gonna have nightmares again

I knew the girls would join in too!
Haha, I love that the robber nice got their ham too!
Maybe she did read the book and is being silly.
Definitely didn’t read the book 😀
Indeed and additionally, Alice broke a cardinal rule: Never judge a book by its cover!
Sure hope someone saved Elvis a few bites!
Ham for everyone! I love a happy ending.

Looks like Lupin has recovered from his meltdown over the new Man without needing to go help Elvis guard the coats.
Love the little ham sandwiches the robber mice are eating. Too cute. I hope that Lupin comes to love The Intruder’s Mystery Man boyfriend.
Yay! Ham for everyone!

But that aside, the kitties look so happy. <3
Jim G.
thanks for the comment. I’m glad you shared the true meaning and where in England it comes from. smiles to you.
Isn’t that how you remember the treble clef? Every Good Cat Deserves Ham… no, wait…

So…where was the ham hiding?
awwwww They are so cute enjoying their ham!
