OH nooo! A pork-tastrophe and a cal-ham-ity! Haha! Poor Pucky! I hope they uncover the mystery of the missing ham soon before stomachs start seriously growling. 😀
Is this the new newsprint friendly Puck? I’m liking him – I often struggled to make out his expression before, but this way really nails it, even if he’s not quite as dark as in real life.
Looks like Puck will now need to turn HAMature detective to track down his party food!
I’m suspicious those Robber Mice are up to no good but Agnes will come to Puck’s rescue.
Georgia, I’m old and don’t trust the web using my credit card. When you’re looking into how to handle contributions with something like Paypal, please ask about private donations going directly to you. There must be some way to handle that. Also – I’m wondering about somehow donating the Shelter Cats Report to vets’ and SPCA offices with references to GoComics, etc. I’m sure most of us would chip in and be most happy to distribute them. These days, most newspapers seem to be giving us old and stale comics or newer ones that are usually just plain awful. I suspect its all about the money but its one of the reasons why the newspapers are having a hard go of it. We really don’t need newspapers because of the web but buy them just for the comics, puzzles and maybe sports/ local news/editorials. Breaking Cat News could give them a new lease on life. I’m really serious. My crystal ball sees them giving you at least half the front page in the Sunday comic format.
The way the boys are carrying on, you’d think it was a sign of the aporkalypse; the party’s entree is suddenly as hard to find as a ticket to Ham-ilton. (Great line for Elvis! I’ll have to remember that one.)
Hmm, when the ham went missing, my first thought was somecat has sticky fingers, er, paws. Some kitty taste tested a little too much? Or is something more sinister afoot? Can’t wait to find out!
Just reading a comment on go comics, I too would hate to lose the beauty of strips like Sophie on Sunday, but also understand the need for the comic to succeed commercially. Would it be possible – to post different styles in/on different media outlets. Obviously saving the Sophie on Sunday’s, and beautiful rainy day style episodes with all their enchanting artistry for the online sites – on Sunday’s? – monthly? They really are too beautiful to drop altogether, it would be so sad. 🙁
Georgia, I just had a quick question I just thought about. Do you get revenue if someone looks at your comic from their GoComics app, or do we need to view it directly from their website?
I will admit, I don’t know exactly how all of that works, but if needed, I would be happy to go directly to the GoComics site to view BCN.
Just bought the book. Hope the book sales help as you try to make the jump over in newspapers.
Whew, Puck losing his composure when his co-anchors are calm….it’s a world (news story) gone mad.
Love Lupin and Elvis having fun with the headlines.
Missing food does scream Robber Mice, but a whole ham’s a bit much for them to wander off with. I can just see the mix of indignation and honored from the girls!
Can I say that I don’t really find a huge difference between the twice weekly and the daily strips? We’re still getting an extended story. It’s just playing out a bit each day rather than in two large installments. If you go back and look at most great comic strips they are done in the same way. Longer stories frequently covered a week or more in strips like Calvin and Hobbes. Keep up the good work!
My sweet kitty that I lost this past January loved ham the best. She would have been in Puck’s shoe, demanding to know what happened to the ham before she’d had her chance at it. 🙂
I’ve been trying to think on this, Sue! I’m not sure, but I think so? I adore that you are thinking of this, but please don’t feel like you have to change your home page! That is such a very sweet thing to offer, you are so nice to ask. <3
I would imagine yes, if you’re getting paid per page-view. I know places can track IP addresses though, and if that’s the case, then probably no. It might be something like per unique hit per day? You’d probably have to check the contract for that.
For Sue and Georgia, and anyone else: Most modern browsers–certainly Firefox and IE–are tabbed. Your ‘home’ page can be–as mine is–a collection of tabs. So my home page includes the BCN site, BCN on GoComics, and about 40-50 other tabs.
Pour qui est le jambon? (For whom is the ham? The first two words could be mispronounced “porkie”.)
You can make some really good eats with the leftover ham (assuming that it is ever brought right over). Mix diced ham, cheese, and mustard and stuff sliced puns with the mix. Wrap them in aluminum foil, and bake them until the cheese is all melty. Yum!

I’m sorry Puck, the party people must have gotten -hammered-
Is Puck so shocked by the missing ham that he’s g9ne pale? (well, as pale as a black cat CAN go, at least?

Not yet, I will probably begin inking him in the next set of headlines! 🙂
That’s what I thought too! Poor Puck – his tail’s even gone puffy.
I’m suspicious those Robber Mice are up to no good but Agnes will come to Puck’s rescue.

Sounds like the situation is dire!
Evidently, Lupin and Elvis do not take the missing ham as seriously as Puck does. Or maybe they can’t resist the puns?
No one can resist a good pun.
LOVE IT!
Love Puck so serious about the missing ham. The puns are great. So happy to wake up to s new BCN strip every day.
Best of luck with getting this great strip published!
Puck looks almost like a squirrel. He’s clearly upset. 😉
The way the boys are carrying on, you’d think it was a sign of the aporkalypse; the party’s entree is suddenly as hard to find as a ticket to Ham-ilton. (Great line for Elvis! I’ll have to remember that one.)
Puck is right, this is serious! The fellas are wasting precious time hamming it up.
One week in and I’m living my daily dose of BCN!
Poor Puck! I understand your love of ham with pineapples and cherries. Love Ham Today, Gone Tomorrow….Good one Burt!
There Lupin and Elvis go, hamming it up. Meanwhile, Pucky is very distressed–obviously because he didn’t get any ham yet.
Poor Puck, I am sure he isn’t surprised by Lupin taking things lightly, but even serious news cat Elvis is throwing out the ham puns.
No pork?? They’re gonna haft switch to HAMburger.
Lol! “This is serious!!!”
Poor Pucky got smoked by someone who had a bone to pick with some ham hock…hope we find out tomarrow!
This is a horrible Cat-ham-ity!
Yay! The news scroll is back. I had feared that it was a casualty of the new format. Glad to see it survived.
Ok, “pork-tastrophe” almost made me snort coffee out my nose.
Poor Pucky! I feel for him…I love me some ham, too!
Hmm, when the ham went missing, my first thought was somecat has sticky fingers, er, paws. Some kitty taste tested a little too much? Or is something more sinister afoot? Can’t wait to find out!
Cal-HAM-ity? Ouchies on you, Georgia, for one of the best puns I’ve seen in a long time.
“Ham today, gone tomorrow!!!” I LOVE that!!
I have to find somewhere to slip that into conversation at some point.
If you cross the Hamster Dance with a Rain Dance will the ham return??
Mystery and mayham.

News flash — BCN has been taken over by PBS! Pastis — we’re on to you. Where is Georgia?
“OK, ham it up, you two, but we won’t be living high on the hog if we don’t find it!”
The ham puns are cracking me up but poor little Puck!
Yes! My keyboard almost suffered a coffee disaster too! Literally laughed out loud!

I think that the app works just as well as the website, in regards to that bit! 🙂
If puck was doing it
Elvis would’ve been like:
ENOUGH WITH THE PORK JOKES ALREADY!
Just bought the book. Hope the book sales help as you try to make the jump over in newspapers.
Whew, Puck losing his composure when his co-anchors are calm….it’s a world (news story) gone mad.
Thank you, Ken!
Love Lupin and Elvis having fun with the headlines.
Missing food does scream Robber Mice, but a whole ham’s a bit much for them to wander off with. I can just see the mix of indignation and honored from the girls!
heee! poor pucky.
(my alter-ego catastrophe would like you to know she’s NOT part of the pork-tastrophe. but she’ll happily share her liver milkshake with puck!)
No, a cat-ham-ity is a special kind of cal-ham-ity (unless you are a cat).
How could this nefarious act have been done? Purrhaps, someone put the ham in a picnic hamper and left with it.
I do not think that it was the mice. They are too small, but maybe, they are running the operation with bigger rodents: hamsters, of course.
I doubt that people ham quit with the ham puns yet, and some of them have been quite well done.

I can’t see the comic- just the comments?
never mind once I commented, I could see it
I actually see ads in the app, but not the GoComics website, for what that’s worth *g*
My sweet kitty that I lost this past January loved ham the best. She would have been in Puck’s shoe, demanding to know what happened to the ham before she’d had her chance at it. 🙂
Oh my goodness, poor Puck! This looks like HAMAGGEDON!!
ham and suits. What’s the occasion?
If I made the BCN GoComics page my homepage, would you you then get paid each time I opened my browser?
I’ve been trying to think on this, Sue! I’m not sure, but I think so? I adore that you are thinking of this, but please don’t feel like you have to change your home page! That is such a very sweet thing to offer, you are so nice to ask. <3

What a catastrophe! This will ruin the party! The boys must solve this pronto! And I’m sure they will. I love the new format.
Yum!
I am still hamming a great time with the puns.
What about https://www.patreon.com/ ? I bet a lot of folks would sign up to help support BCN!
Aporkalypse!
I see Lupin can’t hold back a smirk. X3
I personally think the last pun should be written as ‘steaks,’ though that might just be me.
