Adorable on so many levels! Bea sure is a little go-getter. And, of course, caffeinated Lupin…I can just imagine the People’s response to the white blur bouncing off the walls!
“The ceiling is a floor too if you believe in yourself!” I’m dying of laughter over here. Please put that and Lupin with his crazy smile on a t-shirt or a mug or a button.
Beatrix’s little blouse is adorable!
She is a tabby! In real life, the actual Beatrix looked very much like Tabitha! Here she has been painted in such a way to distinguish her. The real Tabitha, Sophie, and Beatrix are/were all tabbies who look like they could have been sisters!
Thrice welcome to Beatrix! Oh, my stars, she is a hyperactive little git, isn’t she?! Comes with kittenhood, I guess. Tommie has Sophie, Burt has Baba Mouse, The GN crew has Tabitha — and now Our Guys have their own female-in-residence. Very glad to see it! The logo on the coffee cups she brings is priceless. (Now, if someone with that organizing ability and energy would only show up in my sewing room, I’d be ecstatic. Right now it would take a shovel to clean it up — unfortunately. Here, kitty kitty…. )
I can only guess from comments and messages folks have left, but from those I know we have readers in Brazil, the UK, Russia, Canada, Germany, and many of the states! Especially the Midwest, Florida, New England, and the West coast! Anyone reading this comment, if I’ve missed you, please sound off and tell us where you are from!
Here in Wisconsin, we consider you Yoopers to be more a part of our state than an extension of the collection of trolls living below the Mackinac Bridge! (I’m from Sheboygan and have vacationed in the UP more times than I can count!)
Most of the time we Yoopers consider ourselves more from Wisconsin than Michigan (except for hockey and maybe baseball). You’re a whole lot closer from one thing, and speak pretty much the same language. I often feel like the UP is Wisconsin’s little sister (and Minnesota’s favorite cousin).
Huntsville, Alabama, home of the Marshall Spaceflight Center where the Apollo/Saturn 5 was developed and the space shuttle was controlled. Also, soon to be a Google Gigabit Internet city.
Maryland — so in between Florida and New England.
Are you doing Canada by provinces or taking it as a single piece? ‘Cause I know for sure you have a reader or two in Ontario.
“…a reader or two in ONTARIO…” well THAT narrows it down! (The province of Ontario has an area larger than that of France & Spain combined, four-times the size of the UK, two time zones, one-fifth of the world’s fresh water, 13 ½ million people… jus sayin, it’s BIG)
Lake of the Woods, NorthWestern Ontario.
Hey, I’m not the one who decided a country that huge should be divided into so few provinces. 🙂 But if you think USans are bad about underestimating the size of Canadian geography, watch what somebody from a country the size of Connecticut does with it. (“Ottawa? Your aunt who lives ‘near Toronto’ lives in Ottawa? Ottawa is ‘near’ Toronto the same way NYC is ‘near’ DC!” We went anyhow, but I was the only driver after we dropped them off in Ottawa. Wow that was a long car trip. But I got to snuggle with an adorable white kitten in London, so …)
As for the ceiling can be a floor – my cat DJ loves to climb as high as he can, and if the boxes are high enough, he rolls over onto his back and puts his feet on the ceiling.
I’m reading from Seattle. In fact, I was introduced to BCN by a former co-worker who (I think) knew you when you lived here (Meredith, if that means anything).
We live now in Las Vegas; originally from back East …grew up in New Bedford and Providence. I’ve loved your strip since the Christmas Story where Tommy rescued Elvis, and vice versa. (“Never guess she’s artificial,” and the “fir native to Las Vegas”) Hugs!
exactly! That TV show gave people such a misleading idea of the Jersey shore. Born in Atlantic county across the bay from Longport/Margate. Dad was a farmer. We sold flowers that we raised to the tourist from Philly that drove by our house.
Avaneesh, I am so happy you asked where BCN are reading the strip from! And thank you everyone who has commented with your location! I am reading these and getting a little silly-teary. This is wonderful, I can’t believe we have so many readers all over the world!!!
Bea has such leadership potential. The pencil as big as she is. The paw print coffee logos. Wired Lupin Ceiling Cat. I think I just died from the cuteness over here.
What an intern! She is organized to the max and somewhere out there is a kitty Starbucks. I love it that Puck gets a mocha latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Lupin on regular coffee is a hoot! How about B’s polydactyle paws, is there any real polydactyl so in your real cats, Georgia?
“I reorganized them and I’VE GOT A SYSTEM” – yes, we all need a Beatrix in our lives {g}! Not to mention needing a caffeinated Lupin bouncing off the ceiling….
Love it!! I can’t wait for the summer when my department gets its intern. They are absolutely like this! I especially love “I’VE GOT A SYSTEM!”, that’s very me!
Will Beatrix be like Peekaboo in Rose is Rose and remain a kitten forever, or will she grow up? If she has to grow up, please let it take a long, long time.
Georgia, take a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time growing them up. Although a strip or two of them looking into their future at the Old Cat’s Home after they retire might be cute.
In my mind, I meant her to be an older child/early teen/young cat, and tried to show that in her language skills. Being a kitten, she has already aged a tiny bit with them. She is becoming more of a “young cat” all the time, and will be a young cat for a decent amount of time in the comic. In actual months, I would say she was about 3-4 months old when the Man found her, so 12-16 weeks.
This was great. Loved Beatrix as the new intern. She sure has things under control. Loved Lupin once the caffeine kicked in. His line “The ceiling is a floor if you believe in yourself” was great. To answer Avaneesh’s question about where your readers are from, I live in West Virginia, USA.
I’m actually a little sad for Puck this episode, he only gets the one utterance and seems a bit nonplussed about Bea taking over. I hope this doesn’t lead to hissings and spittings in the future.
I think he’s a little more aghast at Lupin not getting decaf, because oh my cat is he off the wall. Quite literally if you believe his ceiling commentary. 😉
One more vote for SQUEEEEEEEE!!. Bea is just wonderful, and the hyper-caffeinated Lupin makes everything just purr-fect (but I worry for the inevitable caffeine crash).
BYW — it’s not just kittens. My Miss O’Malley, who just turned 5 on St. Paddy’s day, is still a blur. Her favorite still is chair surfing. Running leap from under the TV to my rolly-chair at the computer desk and off she goes into the kitchen. Keep up the good work!!
reading this from Delaware which for those of you not from the U.S. is on the east coast.:)
so nice to read where people are living. we are one big community here at BCN.
welcome to intern beatrix. how did she learn to do all of the stuff she is doing.
is she a child genius err i meant kitty genius.
long day so I’m making it an early nite for me. goodnite and good morning to everyone.
I could use Beatrix in the shelter infirmary. I spend way too much time trying to sort out records and files! She has inspired me to make yet another stab at organization. I think the cast off two drawer file from the office will do the trick! Hope springs eternal! As always, Georgia, you are amazing. Thank you for all the joy you bring to us, your loyal readers,
Wow…intern Beatrix…she’s sensational! Will she try her hand at being the weather girl or perhaps the sideline sports reporter? Only time (and our lovely artist) can tell! You go, girl(s)!
Could you make a print or a T-shirt with a caffeinated Lupin on the ceiling saying “The ceiling is a floor too if you believe in yourself!!!”
Because I think I would have to buy it. XD
I’m so glad Beatrix is now the Intern. She will be quite a stunning reporter one day 🙂 Lupin on caffeine is hysterical. I love, love, love this strip 🙂 It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy 🙂
OMC!! Loving this! Bea is so cute. Elvis is looking so proud. Puck sipping his latte like the gentleman… er… cat he is. And of course, WIRED LUPIN! My fav’s are the tie hanging in front of his face & the dueling stirrer! although that could be a wizards wand. hmmmm…
And lastly, South Jersey girl originally, lived in NH 19 years and now on the tip top of California coast by the redwoods used to film Endor. (Ewoks-Return of the a Jedi) Oregon is 15 min. north & much loved.
Yep, Gasquet. It’s very pretty here. I do miss the east though. And living where you don’t have to drive for hours to get to a Costco, Michael’s or even a Olive Garden! There are always trade offs, I guess. 🐱👍
The Stampede City of Calgary, Alberta,Canada. (YeeHaw) Absolutely lost it with Lupin upside down with a tie in his face. Still wiping the tears from my face and my stomach hurts from laughing. Love it!!!!!
Just when I think this strip couldn’t possibly get any better, it does in every way possible. The artistry is superb. The story line is engaging. The characters are adorable and so realistic (having been owned by MANY cats over the years, I recognize a lot of their purr-sonalities here.) I’ve said it before and most likely will say it again: THANK YOU GEORGIA DUNN for sharing your talent, your family and your cats with us all.
In respect to location of readers, I’m a third generation Cali girl currently located near San Bernardino. Georgia, we understood your household recently relocated to California. What area, exactly?
Beatrix transcribed Lupin’s voice memos! That made me giggle outloud. Isn’t there an earlier comic where someone (Puck or Lupin) is transcribing Lupin’s voice memos and Elvis is getting all angry that Lupin doesn’t just write his notes down. I LOVE when a serial type story makes references to earlier happenings. Thank you. So funny! ((and Southern Ontario Canada here)
I am from Holland, MI. I love Beatrix’s enthusiasm for the job. She will keep the station running smoothly. 🙂 I liked the reference back to Lupin’s voice memos. That should make Elvis happy that Puck won’t be working on that during a new broadcast. Was there something about Lupin not being allowed caffeine before or am I imagining that. Lupin is pretty high strung already so it makes since they try to keep the caffeine away from him. 🙂
Has anyone noticed Lupin’s ‘standing on the ceiling’ by hanging on the ceiling light? His paw can be seen holding onto the chain from the suspended light.
Sorry to be late commenting, Georgia, but as always -so wonderful to read these! The strips don’t make me laugh out loud as they do many others but brings a happy smile to my face instead. They always leave me with a warm sweetly contented feeling that helps carry me through the day and sets my mood despite other things that happen. Your writings and art work make for a great short-term combo antidepressant and tranquilizer!
Orange County–home of Disneyland! I lived in Huntington Beach for a while, then five years in Santa Ana, within sight of Angel Stadium. We lived there when the Angels won the World Series, and we heard our neighbor lady, (who we only knew as “Angels Fan”), going ABSOLUTELY BONKERS!
That is so fun! I love baseball! Growing up so close to Boston, I’m a Red Sox fan originally, but the Angels are a team I like too! I was really happy to be moving so close to them. I had the pleasure of visiting their stadium for a game back in 2003 or 2004 and it was great!
This is certainly one of the best ever … re-reading it and the comments it doesn’t matter that I have to wait until the first of April (I won’t be awake much longer) to see the next magical strip you produce Georgia. As always, you are amazing!
This is fabulous! My friends have been into this strip, mentioned it several times, and sent me a link.
OMG.
The random quirky, subtle humor, the reality of cats, and the fantastic art style (line and wwatercolor, a style I love to do myself) is a wonderful antidote to the Grim Reality of Breaking Normal News and the latest Epic Films. This is like… if Pixar were run by cats…
“If Pixar was run by cats…”
That would be SO awesome! While BCN isn’t animated, nothing beats it as a comic. Only a few have matched Georgia’s humour such as Calvin and Hobbs and NONE has matched Georgia’s art.
Sounds like Beatrix has had too much caffeine too!
A warm welcome to new office gofer, Beatrix.
Can’t start Mondays without a CN News Fix.
ThanksX!
love Beatrix outfit. Peter Pan collar!
Amazing!
Kittens… always *busy*!!
Adorable on so many levels! Bea sure is a little go-getter. And, of course, caffeinated Lupin…I can just imagine the People’s response to the white blur bouncing off the walls!
Agreed!
The ceiling IS a floor too! I believe in Lupin! 😀 😀 😀 Bea is a great intern!
This quote definitely needs to be t-shirts, mugs and posters!
Oh. My. Cat. *dies from cuteness*
Also: Lupin, Panel 4. <3
So awesome. Love the coffee, love the decaf. Always, love the Lupin.
How long before the robber girls get jealous at not being included in the MouseBucks order?
Way to keep those guys in line Beatrix, don’t let them mess your system!
Who taught Bea to water plants instead of eating, knocking over and otherwise destroying them? So much to learn, young intern.
Maybe she’ll only attack flowers?
Hurrah for the New Intern!
“THE CEILING IS A FLOOR TOO IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!” -Lupin- 2016
Amazing. XD
Oh, if only Beatrix would give Maus some lessons! I so could use a good intern.
Love it, as always. Thank you for brightening so many lives.
Beatrix, you are THE BEST.
“The ceiling is a floor too if you believe in yourself!” I’m dying of laughter over here. Please put that and Lupin with his crazy smile on a t-shirt or a mug or a button.
Beatrix’s little blouse is adorable!
Haha, Lupin on non-decaf is so funny!
Beatrix is a nice little addition to the team. Can’t wait to see when she makes her first report!
Lupin reminds me of grandmas cats after having catnip 🙂
OK, an over-caffeinated Lupin is THE BEST!
And I want an intern like Bea. Please?
Love Puck’s initial reaction, followed by dismay as Lupin swings in the lampshade! And Intern Beatrix is just so PERKY!
This is quite simply the best BCN ever. I was expecting Puck’s to be “black and strong”, since he is.
Intern. Producer. It’s a fine line.
😀 (TFW you wish WordPress had upvotes)
I need Beatrix for my intern!
Lupin hanging from the ceiling!
SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I love this so much!!!
Peter pan collar FTW. Mad Men-ish 🙂
So cute!! I love how enthusiastic she is. Haha lupine on caffeine high!
Oh wow!
Oh! I forgot to ask, Georgia, is Beatrix a specific breed of kitty, or is she just a good ol’ mix?
Just curious!
She is a tabby! In real life, the actual Beatrix looked very much like Tabitha! Here she has been painted in such a way to distinguish her. The real Tabitha, Sophie, and Beatrix are/were all tabbies who look like they could have been sisters!
looks like a great addition to the team i look forward to more
Welcome our new intern!! Also first commentor!
Also, I really like the panel where Beatrix says “Noted”. The close-up is really well done! Great job as always! 😀
Love Lupin in this comic! No one touch the file cabinets!
Jajjajja adorable, aunque tal vez demasiado entusiasta.
Lol! When B’trix is done, send her my way; I’ve got a whole house full of clutter that needs her organizing skills!
and then over to my house, please!
Hilarious! Lupin doesn’t need caffeine. The Cat of Adventure is fueled by his curiosity. Welcome to the team, Beatrix!
Excellent!
“We secretly give Lupin decaf.”—-I can see why. ;-D
Welcome, Beatrix.
Georgia, it’ll be great if you answered this..
From which countries/states do you think people are reading this?

Looking at all these locales I feel so average saying “Central Ohio”! Lotsa variety here.
Little late, but —- my little black cat and I “watch” from Virginia Beach, Virginia ☺
Fort Worth, Texas!
I hail from the Jersey Shore (and, NO, not anything like the TV show!!!!)
exactly! That TV show gave people such a misleading idea of the Jersey shore. Born in Atlantic county across the bay from Longport/Margate. Dad was a farmer. We sold flowers that we raised to the tourist from Philly that drove by our house.

Not seeing too many New England posts, so I’ll chime in from Massachusetts.
I’m a little bit late, but have to tell 🙂 From Kazakhstan also ^^
I vote for Beatrix to be a permanent member of the cast going forward! Who’s with me here?
ME!
ME!
I have always loved kittens, just like Beatrix , they all have so much energy, curiosity and fun.
Bea has such leadership potential. The pencil as big as she is. The paw print coffee logos. Wired Lupin Ceiling Cat. I think I just died from the cuteness over here.
Oh my cat! Is Lupin dueling with a coffee stirrer? So much LOL!
Love the tie over Lupin’s face.
Wingardium leviosa!
LOL! Nothing like a Hermione spell to get you to the ceiling! Love it!
Go get ’em Bea! Her enormous fluffpaws were just made for holding a pencil – and maybe a microphone one day!
Beatrice is soooo so adorable. I love Pucky’s enthusiastic look in the first panel. And, Lupin “en garde” his coffee cup. Coffee all over, he wins.
Before Bea color codes the office supplies, she’ll need to clean up the spilled coffee.
Camera one – cuts to a shot of the boys wondering what they have let themselves in for…..
Ha ha, Lupin on the ceiling with perpetual grin is funny! Bea is aw3some, loved the entire skit today!! Meow!!
I’VE GOT A SYSTEM, Bea says. How many times have I said that to my husband? 😀 Hope the boys listen! She’s gonna whip them into shape so fast. <3
Kittens ARE always busy 🙂
LOL@decaf..
Oh! Just noticed Lupin upside down from ceiling with his tie over his face!! Kute!!
Oh my, Beatrix… save something for the second day!
To our collection of”Puckisms” we need to add one “Lupinism”…. My husband’s Rufus cat used to climb walls, but never quite made it to the ceilings
Death before dishonor. Nothing before coffee. New classic BCN quote: “The ceiling is a floor too if you believe in yourself!” Wonderful strip, thanks!
Thank goodness I wasn’t drinking coffee when I read this !! Lupin jacked up on caffeine was hilarious !! 😹
rotfl!! XD
I’m not sure if Lupin is sword-fighting in the last panel or engaging in a wizard’s duel. Does it matter? If he believes in himself it can be both!
Wonderful as always!
I second and third everything that has been written. Most excellent broadcast today Georgia!! Can’t stop laughing!!
Will Beatrix be like Peekaboo in Rose is Rose and remain a kitten forever, or will she grow up? If she has to grow up, please let it take a long, long time.
I do plan on her growing up, but I will try to let it take its time. 🙂 And she will always at least be on the younger side.
Georgia, take a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time growing them up. Although a strip or two of them looking into their future at the Old Cat’s Home after they retire might be cute.
Georgia, how old do you figure Beatrix was (in the strip) when The Man brought her In out of the Cold (er, Void)?
In my mind, I meant her to be an older child/early teen/young cat, and tried to show that in her language skills. Being a kitten, she has already aged a tiny bit with them. She is becoming more of a “young cat” all the time, and will be a young cat for a decent amount of time in the comic. In actual months, I would say she was about 3-4 months old when the Man found her, so 12-16 weeks.
Love love love it!! Catspawbucks coffee!!
Yukon, Canadian county, Oklahoma, here.
Love Lupin in the final panel – swish and flick!
Love Beatrix!
ADORABLE. Need I say more?
🙂 there are plants left to water that Elvis has not yet devoured (and subsequently returned?)
The plant of many teeth should be safe
Lupin For President!!!! The Ceiling IS A Floor If You Believe In Yourself!!!!!
Lupin’s gone all Sulu after getting caffeine!
Elvis in panel 6 – sure looks like a proud papa to me! If nothing else he admires her spunk!!
panels one to four Beatrix made a BIG mistake.
Awwww, go Beatrix!

Because I think I would have to buy it. XD
I <3 that the cats coffee orders match their coats.
Go Beatrix! Show those furry men what it means to be organized!
Wonderful job!! I am so happy to see Beatrix character developed, she is too cute. Thank you for uplifting my Monday!
I love Puck’s reaction in the first panel. And Lupin calmly standing on the ceiling with is tie over his face cracks me up. It’s all normal to him.
THE CEILING IS A FLOOR TOO IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF: Haha! I’m going to make that my motto! *hi-fiving Lupin*
I’m almost afraid to get attached to Beatrix… isn’t she a foster kitty? Can she still be an intern if she gets adopted by another family??
I’m dying to give a spoiler here–but I think you will like where this goes, Minda!
I can’t take the suspense!
Georgia, I hope, hope, hope, that you have one strip with Beatrice and the Baby!
I’m so glad Beatrix is now the Intern. She will be quite a stunning reporter one day 🙂 Lupin on caffeine is hysterical. I love, love, love this strip 🙂 It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy 🙂
Beatrix is definitely one smart intern. It must be from being polydactyl. All those toes in everything. I love the,”I have a filing system.”
And also, Is it weird that I already have a voice in my head for Beatrix? She is so sweet and adorable and such a wonderful addition 🙂
Toronto, Canada! 🙂
LOVE Beatrix the intern! Oh, to be that young and energetic again…
OMC!! Loving this! Bea is so cute. Elvis is looking so proud. Puck sipping his latte like the gentleman… er… cat he is. And of course, WIRED LUPIN! My fav’s are the tie hanging in front of his face & the dueling stirrer! although that could be a wizards wand. hmmmm…

I visited the Smith Redwoods years ago when I was in high school. Had family in Gasquet. It was incredibly beautiful!
Yep, Gasquet. It’s very pretty here. I do miss the east though. And living where you don’t have to drive for hours to get to a Costco, Michael’s or even a Olive Garden! There are always trade offs, I guess. 🐱👍
South Jersey here too!
The Stampede City of Calgary, Alberta,Canada. (YeeHaw) Absolutely lost it with Lupin upside down with a tie in his face. Still wiping the tears from my face and my stomach hurts from laughing. Love it!!!!!
A kitty watered the plants instead of destroying them? Delightful!
I live in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. I am posting this from Prince George, BC.
One spelling mistake in panel one: “intern” should be “overlord”.
Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand
Love Caffeinated-Lupin! the last panel immediately made me think of this:

Hahaha!!! I love it!
Posting from Hope Valley, RI. I could use Beatrix in my office. Love Lupin on caffeine!
Yay!!! Hi, Monica!!!
Oh My Cat…..LOVE this strip! Lupin on the ceiling. Little Bea in charge and working circles around the boys. LOVE Bea and her energy and enthusiasm. 😀
Northern Illinois near the Wisconsin border here BTW.
In respect to location of readers, I’m a third generation Cali girl currently located near San Bernardino. Georgia, we understood your household recently relocated to California. What area, exactly?
We’re in Orange County now! Somewhat in the middle of the Aliso Viejo/Laguna Niguel/Irvine area!
But what is Lupin holding in panel 4? Looks like a chain? Possibly the lid of coffee cup, but not quite the right shape?
I meant that to be part of a ceiling lamp. 🙂
OK, now I get it– which makes it all the more funny in panel 6 when he seemingly doesn’t need to hold onto a lamp to walk on the ceiling!
Thank you. So funny! ((and Southern Ontario Canada here)
Yes, there is! Thank you for noticing that!!! 😀
I’m in Virginia. Piedmont area. This one is the best yet. Laughed all the way through. Lupin is hilarious.
NIce meme
Gainesville, FL.
And caffeinated Lupin is almost his own character.
For your location map I am in Petaluma Calif.
We love you in Austin, Texas !
Can’t wait for the book!
We’re readers in Orange County, CA, your new neighbors!
Yay! Hello!!
Oakland CA, love it.
This is certainly one of the best ever … re-reading it and the comments it doesn’t matter that I have to wait until the first of April (I won’t be awake much longer) to see the next magical strip you produce Georgia. As always, you are amazing!
Late to post but Southeastern CT, Georgia I’m originally from RI too! Reading this currently in FL visiting family who love the strip too!
Yay!!! Hello, Lady Mel!!!
Thank you so much, Teanna! I’m excited you like to do line and watercolor too!!
“If Pixar was run by cats…”
That would be SO awesome! While BCN isn’t animated, nothing beats it as a comic. Only a few have matched Georgia’s humour such as Calvin and Hobbs and NONE has matched Georgia’s art.
THE CEILING IS A FLOOR TOO IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! HEE!
I’ve got a system! Boys, meet your new boss.
Just south of Seattle (Renton), and have been a fan of Purrfect Pals since before The Woman met The Man.
And BCN is totally a delight. So true, and so touching.
OMG, Georgia, please one day share some of Lupin’s voice memos.
