If the camera had been on Elvis the whole time in the coat room, how could he have taken the ham?
Btw, Love the tiny BCN mic in panel 2! :).. I wonder what the mice are reading….
BCN news makes my overnight shift easier to deal with π
Is Alice wearing reading glasses? Does that perhaps mean that she is the oldest of the robber mice? Sorry, I know that it is usually considered impolite to ask a lady’s age, but as long as you don’t tell her that I asked . . .
Also, as I have not commented since the format change: I assumed, as did many others that I would enjoy whatever you did with the format. Happily, I was right! Having a new BCN every day is wonderful!
It must not have been the robber mice, they have their masks off. I don’t think it was Elvis because he was sort of shut in with the coats. Could it have been the dinner guests?!
This made me laugh out loud! (living alone, I usually just use a barely audible chuckle even for really funny stuff) It was Elvis’ utter indignation, though he may protest too much. I like the tiny green mice on the books for book club. We know it wasn’t Tommy, he’s far too ingenuous. But who? Whoooo Whoooo? Any chance there was a window open? Perhaps Wicket wishes to woo with ham?
I don’t believe those mice for a second. Alice is still wearing her mask. Agnes and Violet looking way too angelic. Natasha way too prickly under the circumstances. Elvis wouldn’t leave the closet while the guests are still there. Nope nope nope.
The usual suspects? HRRUMPH!
Probably just The Woman taking it to the party.
Although The Man is a slippery sort, too…
And then, too, who left the pineapple rings and the cherries on the platter?
Yes, who indeed!
(cue dramatic music)
Sigh. Strip was reluctant to load and now the bottom half is solid black. I’ll reload occasionally through the day.
Not only wouldn’t Elvis leave the coats, he’s shut in there. Hmmm…now, who’s the most adventurous and outwardly innocent of the boys? And now he’s the trusty sidekick? I wonders, yes, I wonders.
It’s not reloading for me now, too. I really don’t know what to do when it doesn’t load for me either. Sigh. Big long sigh. I am hoping maybe WordPress is having some server maintenance, and trying to figure out what is going on.
Try pressing Ctrl + F5.
It forces a refresh and clears the cache so any stored images should be redownloaded.
It doesn’t always work though, especially if there are server or connection issues.
In many browsers a reload will read files from disk cache instead of getting them from the network. Just like if you typed the address into the browser a second time. If the file on disk was corrupted somehow, it just gets read again and nothing changes.
What might help is trying a Shift-Reload. Hold Shift and click Reload. This should read everything from the web server again and force all of the caches to get new copies.
We know it wasn’t Elvis because he is locked in the coat room (since he swipes at guests) and even as ingenious as they are, I think a whole ham might be a bit big for the mice to make off with. Besides, I think they’ve come to a sort of compromise with the boys after the whole Wicket incident…
Puck is a known ham fiend… But snatching it would seem out of character for sweet Pucky…
Lupin seemed a little too eager to inject himself into the investigation; perhaps so he could misdirected Pucky Holmes… Maybe Lupin decided to go invisible to get himself a tasty treat…
So much intrigue! I’m on sewing needles and cactus spines to find out the truth!
For whatever reason, the comic isn’t loading at this site – I can see comments, and I can see the comic if I go to the GoComics site, but it’s just not loading here!
It has been giving me trouble too. Looks like all this mystery has caused some glitching of the site…
(I know the two are unconnected, but I like to entertain myself by thinking things like that…)
Thank you to the person mentioning that the mice were reading Watership Down. My eyesight sucks with small details so I thought that they were reading Green Eggs and Ham to go with the plot (I couldn’t read the lettering).
I think the ham is too heavy for mice or cats to shift. If it’s not a human then the only other likely suspect would be a dog. But surely Trevor is too honest to do such a thing? (And being the Liberal type, it wouldn’t surprise me if he is a veggie anyway!).
Loads OK for me. I have sometimes had problems with strips only partly loading, but it’s always been a transient issue that resolves itself in an hour or so at worst. Maybe it’s a server overload when too many eager BCN fans try to get the new strip at the same time!
I am thinking it might be the people, though you would think they would save some for Puck, he is a good boy after all. Maybe they were drinking a little too much from the water dishes and weren’t thinking straight. π

Thank you!! And yes, those are reading glasses. π
Really loving this story, and Elvis’s expression in panel 3 is priceless
It must not have been the robber mice, they have their masks off. I don’t think it was Elvis because he was sort of shut in with the coats. Could it have been the dinner guests?!
I was also thinking it might be the guests. More accurately, maybe the Woman took the ham out into the dining room.

‘tonight is our book club’ ….. superb
Round up the usual suspects. LOL And who knew the mice have a book club.
I love getting my BCN every day.
I don’t think there’s any great mystery.
A bunch of people looked at the ham and said, “Get in ma belly!” The ham obliged.
Gasp! Perhaps it was the Intruder! Or the Mystery Man! One never can tell with missing ham…
What are those mice reading? Does their book club stick to a specific genre? Viewers want to know!
Are the mice reading Watership Down??
Also, “how dare you! I was with the coats.” is my new excuse for everything! π
They are, they are! π
The usual suspects? HRRUMPH!
Probably just The Woman taking it to the party.

Leave no coat unturned, no page unturned. Everyone is suspect!
Are Alice, Agnes, Natasha, and Violet reading Watership Down?? Cool.
They are, actually!! I wasn’t sure how to imply it with the book so small, so I tried to paint a tiny bunny and a “W” and a “D”! π
I think you did wildly well with such a tiny workspace! Thanks for the confirmation.
Then again, maybe there’s a good reason that one fella is the ‘Mystery Man’. Doth he have a lean and hungry look? Or…did he?
If the ham is indeed missing, I have a hunch it is the work of a brand new character!
Sigh. Strip was reluctant to load and now the bottom half is solid black. I’ll reload occasionally through the day.

5 hours later, reloaded page, same black bar. NOT Georgia’s fault.

The secret seems to be to click on the back arrow to the previous strip, then come back to today’s strip, and it pops up.
BTW, where’s the toddler and the baby during all this. It would just kill Elvis if the baby is the culprit.

I think that Tommy is a likely suspect.
Love the deerstalker hat and cape on the little detective. I did suspect that ham-shaped coat!
We know it wasn’t Elvis because he is locked in the coat room (since he swipes at guests) and even as ingenious as they are, I think a whole ham might be a bit big for the mice to make off with. Besides, I think they’ve come to a sort of compromise with the boys after the whole Wicket incident…

Haha, the book club is cute and unexpectedly ordinary for the robber nice gals, especially after their epic owl battle!
Go get ’em, Sherlock Puck!
Every time HAM is mentioned I’m reminded of Puck and The Toddler…
“I would like some ham, please.”
“Is potato.”
For whatever reason, the comic isn’t loading at this site – I can see comments, and I can see the comic if I go to the GoComics site, but it’s just not loading here!
It’s not loading for me, either. π It took me about 20 minutes to log in and approve comments this morning.
Now it’s loading okay again – go figure!
It has been giving me trouble too. Looks like all this mystery has caused some glitching of the site…
(I know the two are unconnected, but I like to entertain myself by thinking things like that…)

I blame the solar flares. Or maybe the dogs.
Oh, yay! It finally downloaded!
“Watership Down”? Maybe the Robber Mice have enlisted some rabbits as co-conspirators.
Sher-Puck’s outfit and GIANT, inquiring eye in his “spy-glass” is beyond precious !
I wondered this myself.
You know, the Robber Mice could to a literary criticism segment of the broadcast, now that Agnes has a microphone!
I think the ham is too heavy for mice or cats to shift. If it’s not a human then the only other likely suspect would be a dog. But surely Trevor is too honest to do such a thing? (And being the Liberal type, it wouldn’t surprise me if he is a veggie anyway!).
Strip wasn’t loading for me
so I had to go to gocomics
yup it doesn’t load for me here either anymore
I wonder what kind of books the Robber Mice read. I see them as Danielle Steel fans.
Loads OK for me. I have sometimes had problems with strips only partly loading, but it’s always been a transient issue that resolves itself in an hour or so at worst. Maybe it’s a server overload when too many eager BCN fans try to get the new strip at the same time!
It’s loading fine here. Of course it’s 4:00PM here.
Watership Down is a great book club choice for any book club. I love Elvis’s indignation.
Thanks for the comic.
Pucklock Holmes Arrives Too Late.
In which the daring Pucklock Holmes faces off against a new and mysterious villian aided by Arsène Lupin.
Elvis would never jeopardize his status as “a good boy who deserves treats” to steal the ham.
I am thinking it might be the people, though you would think they would save some for Puck, he is a good boy after all. Maybe they were drinking a little too much from the water dishes and weren’t thinking straight. π
I did post a comment, it showed awaiting approval, but, I see it never showed up.
