They do! It’s a little more side by side rather than directly, but they do both get a kick out of knocking things over together. We had a very cute incident a week ago, where Then Man and our son walked in with a balloon, Lupin grabbed the string, and ran, and our son threw his hands onto his cheeks and called out, “Ohhhh no! No!!!” (The balloon was immediately returned, and he began to play with Lupin and the string while we supervised, since balloons and strings make me nervous with cats and toddlers alike, ha!)
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I now have a new nickname for either my cat or my nephew (Rex). This may be a new top 10 contender! Thanks for making me smile on a bad day xxx
Another hilarious strip. Playful Lupin and “Just the Facts” Elvis. I love it. And I see that Fluffapurrus Rex has a tag. I hope this means he will be making future appearances.
Thank you, Suzanne!! Lupin loves, loves, loves to knock things over (especially in the middle of the night–grumble! Ha!) and so I thought that perhaps when he is doing this, he could be pretending to be a big monster destroying a city! This really comes from Puck, who “pretend hunts” nothing often, and we like to say “Pucky’s playing ninjas again.” For the comic, it fit Lupin better… Though I plan to have a few play-hunting strips for Puck down the road.
A few people have mentioned ‘Calvin and Hobbes’, and while it was unintentional, I’m tickled because I love Bill Watterson, and I can see a lot of Calvin in Lupin this strip now that people have pointed it out to me! I grew up reading and re-reading ‘Calvin and Hobbes’, it’s easily my favorite comic of all time.
I have to share that the name “Fluffapurrus Rex” came from a cat the Man and I used to see sunning itself on a lawn when we lived in Everett, WA. The cat was massively fluffy, a white and brown beautiful Himalayan/Persian looking kitty. We began randomly calling it that to each other, and looking for it whenever we were going by. I hope that wherever he or she is today, Fluffapurrus Rex (real name unknown) is soaking in a well deserved cat nap!
ROFLMAO! Shades of Spaceman Spiff and the Sta-Puf Marshmallow Man! Fluffapurrus Rex will go down in the Great Monsters of All Time Hall of Fame! BTW yes they absolutely do pretend. The way young animals – and humans – learn adult behaviors, socialization, etc. is through play. Play is the work of the young. With adult cats, as with adult humans, it’s a way of keeping interest and joy in life. It’s pretty funny to see a cat pretending to be Sheena, Queen of Jungle. They really do seem to take on personas.
ROFL!!!!!! The look on Lupin’s face in the 3rd panel is just PERFECT!! You’ve totally captured the mischievous/ playful/ troublemaker/ muahaha face I’ve seen on every cat I’ve ever met at one point or another.
Tommy and fluffapurrus Rex in the same week?!!!!??? Oh Georgia, what a wonderful gift! The soundtrack in my mind was playing BOCs “godzilla” song while reading today’s news report.
He does sneak up on Elvis quite a bit! They’re all a little fangy, but truth be told Pucky is the most fangy of the boys! He has a sweet little bat face sometimes when he is sleeping.
Hahaha hahaha, Elvis says, “pftt!” This entire strip cracks me up! I adore Lupin’s face when in attack mode. I will email you with a story about our cats and our new Roomba! I think you might enjoy it, if you have the time.
AWESOME!
It’s just so funny
I love Breaking Cat News
This is great!
Calvin and Hobbes, OK just Calvin, could not have done better than Fluffapurrus Rex, especially spitting devastating flames.
Elvis always trying to maintain decorum… I love that Lupin is playing with the Baby’s toys. Do they play together a lot?
They do! It’s a little more side by side rather than directly, but they do both get a kick out of knocking things over together. Ooo, Lupin gets naked to attack the city! 😀
Be honest, if you were 50 stories tall and could destroy a city, would you really wear pants while you rampaged?
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I now have a new nickname for either my cat or my nephew (Rex). This may be a new top 10 contender! Thanks for making me smile on a bad day xxx
Bwaha! Shades of “Calvin and Hobbes.”
Fire-breathing Lupin needs to be a tshirt.
It’s Fluffapurrus Rex!
😀
Brilliant you got me at Pfft, ha ha 🙂
Another hilarious strip. Playful Lupin and “Just the Facts” Elvis. I love it. And I see that Fluffapurrus Rex has a tag. I hope this means he will be making future appearances.
Yes!! I’m hoping this will not be the last we see of Fluffapurrus Rex 😉
What a Purr-fect way to start Monday morning!
Thank you Georgia!!
<3 Elvis last panel!
Panel 10…. Awww!
Lupin rules! I bet he’s the one that likes to nonchalantly knock things over and then pretend he had nothing to do with it.
YUP!!! Haha!!
KAIJU COMICS
It’s like it was my birthday. (sniff)
This is soon funny! Georgia, you continue to amaze and delight. How did you come up with this idea ?
Thank you, Suzanne!! Lupin loves, loves, loves to knock things over (especially in the middle of the night–grumble! Knocking stuff off seems to be a cat obsession. I’ve had one or two over the years afflicted with this very problem. Here are two instances of the phenomenon caught on video (cats unknown).

OMG! I’m laughing so much there are tears in my eyes. So loving Fluffapurrus Rex. One of your greatest. Thank you so much.
Fluffapurrus Rex! I love that!!!! This is such a fun one today!
Georgia, Lupin reminds me a little of Wigglesworth in the last panel.
I can see that!! 😀 Fangs are too fun….
Wigglesworth!!! I just realized that when Aaron wrote it! I do miss him 🙂
Elvis in Panel 12 has some shades of Grandma Hawker too. I’m pretty sure it’s the fangs.
I think it is! The bottom “tusk” fangs for sure! 🙂
Seriously, you cannot convince me that cats don’t have imagination. 🙂
Agreed!! I feel like I’ve seen too much of it in action!
Fantastic as always! Can’t wait to see Ninja Puck! Love this and brightened a dreary Monday morning!
BAHAHAHAHA the look on Lupin’s face in panel 3! And #6 is totally t-shirt material! And Fluffapurrus Rex about to attack Elvis! So wonderful.
ROFLMAO! Shades of Spaceman Spiff and the Sta-Puf Marshmallow Man! Fluffapurrus Rex will go down in the Great Monsters of All Time Hall of Fame! BTW yes they absolutely do pretend. HAH! Best thing EVER for a Monday morning!
I should be listening to the Pacific Rim soundtrack while reading this!
Best Lupin comic ever! Puck’s surprised face is also very comical 😀
Are those the weebles from when we were growing up, Georgia?
They are based on them, yes! (I think they’re cuter than today’s versions–which are cute! But still…)
ROFL!!!!!! The look on Lupin’s face in the 3rd panel is just PERFECT!! You’ve totally captured the mischievous/ playful/ troublemaker/ muahaha face I’ve seen on every cat I’ve ever met at one point or another.
I like how Elvis often gets annoyed by the other cats. He’s like the Andy Rooney of BCN. At those times, I would call him a regular purr-mudgeon!
Haha!!! That is excellent! And he often is in real life too. He has no time for silliness, unless it’s a feather on a string….
I love F.R. sneaking up on Elvis disguised as Lupin. Go, Georgia, Go!
Lighten up, Elvis. Haven’t you ever heard of feline interest stories?
PS, speaking of Calvin and Hobbes, I couldn’t help be reminded of this classic: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4eH85PUPAHk/TWBQVUWOrhI/AAAAAAAAB7E/dlpuINAMY4E/s1600/bill2.gif
Ha!! Reminds me not only of Calvin and Hobbes but also of Stitch destroying his model of San Francisco. 🙂
Rawr! Fluffapurris Rex!
That is so cute!
Again, Lupin is everything!
This strip is the highlight of my Mondays & Thursdays!!
That final panel!
THAT FINAL PANEL! X^D
I would love to buy a Fluffapurrous Rex prints of both panels. Do you think you might consider making them available?
I am going to try! I will definitely make them available at some point, and will try to make it soon! 🙂
Panel three needs to be a t-shirt!!
Tommy and fluffapurrus Rex in the same week?!!!!??? Oh Georgia, what a wonderful gift! The soundtrack in my mind was playing BOCs “godzilla” song while reading today’s news report.
Ha-ha! I love this! 😀 “Fluffapurrus Rex” is such an awesome nickname. :3
I love the dynamics between your boys. 🙂
Is Lupin ‘fangy’ in real life? And does he sneak up behind Elvis a lot? And is it wise?
He does sneak up on Elvis quite a bit! They’re all a little fangy, but truth be told Pucky is the most fangy of the boys! He has a sweet little bat face sometimes when he is sleeping.
Love the idea of a sweet little bat face
I’m so glad I missed this yesterday because today is my birthday and now I get to read this halarious comic.
Yay!!! Happy birthday, Sydney!!
Thank you
ROAR!!! I love it 🙂
Elvis and I have a lot in common.. I say that about news shows all the time!
I love that the baby is wearing butterfly/fairy wings!
Are you sure they aren’t “Mothra” wings? 🙂
That’s what I’m gonna tell myself.
Hahaha hahaha, Elvis says, “pftt!” This entire strip cracks me up! I adore Lupin’s face when in attack mode. I will email you with a story about our cats and our new Roomba! I think you might enjoy it, if you have the time.
I keep coming back to this one when I could use a smile in the morning.
