“IT’S THE OUR IX LIVES CHRISTMAS SPECIAL”!!! Thank you sooooo much, Georgia, for giving us this early Christmas present! And Angora, don’t marry That Guy Brad!!
OMC! She cannot marry Brad! I sense a “Stop the wedding” moment in our near future…
And those gorgeous colors!!! I can’t handle how beautiful it all is! I am already anxious for tomorrow’s episode.M
Oh my cat!! THEY’RE BACK!!! And every day until Christmas, too?? You spoil us, Georgia 😁 I’m so glad to see the boys (and girl 😉) again, and Our IX Lives too – Angora can’t marry Brad, she belongs with Kit! I know things have been crazy busy for you, so thank you so much for finding time to share this with us. I’ll be tuning in every day (just like Puck, Burt, and Natasha) and I hope you & your family have a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
PS WOW did I use a lot of exclamation points 😆 I swear I’m not usually this excitable, I’m just thrilled to see the boys again. (<- see, I managed to resist that last opportunity for another exclamation point 😉)
What a wonderful FestiHannuKwanYuleChristmas present! Thank you, Georgia. I hope you, the kids, the Man, and of course your cats have a spectacularly wonderful holiday season … with catnip on the tree and all the trimmings. (What a delightful thought if one is a cat!)
From now until Christmas there will be a new strip every day! Why is Angora marrying that guy Brad? Wait, Kit has a brother? And why is it snowing in California? (Knowing ‘soap opera magic,’ I don’t expect that last one to be solved… Anything can happen!)
Twelve days of ‘Our IX Lives’! Snuck in before Christmas, rather than after like the ACTUAL twelve days of Christmas–just to drive Elvis extra crazy.
Some of you will already be getting ‘Breaking Cat News’ in your local paper, starting at the end of March! I’m not able to say which papers yet, but I can say that many papers through the country have already added us to their funny pages! It is exciting!
We are still pitching the strip to newspapers, and your letters have been helping, thank you! Some folks have been requesting, “put it in this paper! Or that paper!” We would love it to be in every paper–but the newspapers make that decision, not the syndicate. The syndicate peddles its strips and hopes newspapers bite. (We are …the bait? I’m not sure I like this metaphor, although I think cats everywhere would LOVE IT and SWAT). The good news on that is, if you want ‘Breaking Cat News’ in your local paper, let them know about the comic and why you like it! They might not listen to the syndicate pitching a strip they’ve never heard of, and they might not listen to a cartoonist hoping to get into the funny pages–but they will listen to their readers, if enough readers write in! Or maybe if one reader makes a really compelling case… I’d LOVE to just put the strip into any paper you request–but the paper makes that decision. The power lies with their readers!
As for right now… We are back ‘on the air’ for twelve days for the Christmas special! Hooray! I hope you will tune in! Have a great day!
I included a few links to my favorite strips in my email, including “the woman is in a room we can’t get into”, which I still think sums us Beverly cat owner’s experience. I pointed out that format was changing for newspapers. I also included a link to the shelter poster and said that if it didn’t move one to tears then I had no hope for the world.
I am delighted by Officer Bandit Chase (but then I am partial to black cats)!
And Georgia, it is so great to learn that papers are adding you. I’ve written to my local paper and hope they add you. Otherwise, I’ll have to find another nearby paper that has BCN!
On the first day of CAT-mass, our Georgia gave to me,
An invitation to a wedding parteee!
HRJBC wishes everyone a Meowy Christmas and a Scrappy New Year!
You did it!!!! Look at you! YOU MADE YOUR DREAM COME TRUE !!! Published author, mother of two gorgeous kids, AND a syndicated cartoonist. Could 2016 get any better-icing on the cake is that The Man is comfortably set up on a job I am assuming he likes ? Now, to repurchase that house….
I have been holding my breath and rooting for you, Georgia, and am sure I am not alone in that. Yayyyyyyyyyyy
I love how Georgia even hints at why, when the strip goes into syndication, she is going to have to do some “edited” introduction strips to bring in the new audience in the new format, thus “earlier footage” from before Burt! So clever!
Loving it Georgia. I’m seeing Patch but hearing Bo & Hope’s theme song, “I need a hero”. And so glad to see a motorcycle, I was so hoping for one!!!!! (Days of Our Lives fans will get this) Love that Elvis is hinting at or foreshadowing about earlier broadcasts, hope that includes Lupin’s audition. So glad someone pointed out about Brother Bandit being a cop, I missed that. OOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhh I am so excited that you’ve already gotten some newspapers lined up. I’ll be sending some follow up emails to my papers in NJ. Thanks for this Special, we have missed you lots. Love to you and your family.
Hello and Welcome back, Georgia! I know how much goes into the endeavor you are pursuing, so thank you many, many times for finding time to bring us this most welcome Christmas present! The format doesn’t detract from the spirit of the strip although I really like the long format strips you have done. A Very Meowy Christmas to you and all!!
Oh Dear Lady; you deserve all the praise you have received from the beginning of this latest adventure. We anticipate many twists and turns over the next eleven day but assume all will be well by Christmas Eve, or the next day. I have been too wrapped up in our annual Christmas Wreath and table decoration project at HSIMC (The Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County) to try to contact newspapers. I promise when the last thing is done,I will mail letters to several northern California papers. Good Luxk
Brad is the smarmy business partner (younger) of Snowball Taggart. He is obviously a sycophant and moving in on Angora with the possible imminent death of Snowball. I still think Snowball is faking an illness, the manipulative old tomcat.
Oh happiness that the guys are back for a while. It makes me feel that all is right with the world. This is the best Christmas present EVER. Christmas blessings to you Georgia and to your family. May your wishes all come true.
“IT’S THE OUR IX LIVES CHRISTMAS SPECIAL”!!! Thank you sooooo much, Georgia, for giving us this early Christmas present! And Angora, don’t marry That Guy Brad!!
No Angora! Kit loves you! And who is that guy Brad anyway??
I think That Guy Brad works for Papa Taggart, doesn’t he? Btw love Angora’s sister’s outfit! Brings back my giddy youth!
Welcome back and thanks! It’s such a treat to see the guys again!
Welcome back. I am so happy you are doing this Christmas special for us. An early Christmas present. 😻😻
Can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.
Thanks Georgia, this made my day!
Angora, nooooo!!!! Say it ain’t so! Brad’s not half the cat (nor does he have half the lives) Kit is!
Snowball Taggart is the richest cat in town, and father to Princess and Angora, and grandfather to the kitten Princess had with the sea captain.
Love the “bat, bat, bat”!! But I’ve forgotten, who is Snowball?
Love seeing the mouse again. Where are the other three?
Welcome back and Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the Christmas gift!!!
OMC! She cannot marry Brad! I sense a “Stop the wedding” moment in our near future…
And those gorgeous colors!!! I can’t handle how beautiful it all is! I am already anxious for tomorrow’s episode.M
Yay!! Thank you for a bright spot when I really need one!
So great to see these again!! Not that I haven’t been re-devouring the older episodes too . . . . .
Oh my cat!! THEY’RE BACK!!! And every day until Christmas, too?? Obviously, Natasha’s been following “Our IX Lives” every day.
Hurray!
Puck sort of looks like a cat version of Vivi from Final Fantasy 9 now. (I mean that in a nice way.)
Oh joy! A truly special Christmas special! THANK YOU!
Part one!!!!! Yes!!! This is the best day of my life! Thank you Georgia!
I am so glad you are back! And this is going to be great!
This is so wonderful to read! (And I notice Elvis’s tie is still black.)
Super Awesome, Miss Georgia!
Thank you for this Christmas Special!!
YAAAAAY!!!!! Love this so much!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
No, nor smarmy Brad !!! I bet Princess will not stand for this. She has some real catitude about things.
Make that not smarmy Brad
Yes, thank you so much. Very cool stuff as usual. This IX live Christmas special has made my morning Georgia Dunn! Thank you !!

Who’s Brad???
Merry Christmas to all!
I’m on the edge of my seat . . .

Thank you, Taffy! And thank YOU again for all the good work you do!
Chef hom,
Brad is the smarmy business partner (younger) of Snowball Taggart. He is obviously a sycophant and moving in on Angora with the possible imminent death of Snowball. I still think Snowball is faking an illness, the manipulative old tomcat.
p.s. Singing Our IX Lives theme: “Meow meow meow meow meow meow, meow meow puuuuuuuurrrrrrrrr…”
Oh Joy! They’re baaack! Thanks Georgia! The colors are gorgeous!
Oh happiness that the guys are back for a while. It makes me feel that all is right with the world. This is the best Christmas present EVER. Christmas blessings to you Georgia and to your family. May your wishes all come true.
