It’s wonderful in so many ways 🙂 Best strip EVER!!!!! I love Elvis’s pity party..lol..And Puck learning such a appropriate lesson for this time of year. Georgia, your strip has made me feel so good, and has put me in such a Christmas spirit. May it do the same for everyone that reads it 🙂 P.S. I love Lupin’s “I was born for this!”
I knew that Puck and Agnes would chat! But I honestly did not see the return of Buzzy Mouse and the disappearance of Agnes coming! Although given that ‘something is missing’ over at Tommy and Sophie’s place, I do wonder if she’s found her way over there.
The mouse rescue was great. MERRY KICKMAS!! And Lupin not bothered at all about being trussed up.
The scroll at the bottom is always one of my favorite parts of the stripe. “Ho Ho Hostage Exchange” “No Turning Back – Everyone On Naughty List” — just love it!
Yippeee Buzzy is back. I think Agnes is going to show Alice what Christmas is all about. Burt is one wise cat. It’s like he can see into Pucks heart. And Sophie holding the heart and looking to place it on the tree! She does like Tommy, deep down. As always this is excellent and I can’t wait till Monday!
“I was born for this,’ says Lupin, all tied up and about to fall off the desk – love it! And what a wise Burt; he knows Pucky isn’t *really* an angry cat (leave that to Elvis)….
Looks like Agnes escaped and sent Buzzy Mouse back while the other Robber Mice were overreacting and trying to rescue her. Elvis is priceless as the injured party. And Lupin, I was born for this, loved it. Poor Tommy deserves better than an indifferent roomate.
That would be the logical sequence of events, but it seems things happened too quickly for that. All those events would have had to take place between panels 9 and 15, which was only time for a brief conversation.
Agreed it seems too fast for buzzy to have been rescued from the mouse hole and boxed up. Almost supernatural – maybe the work of the “ghost of christmas past” doing a favour for her special friend Puck, eh Crackerjack?
Happened too quickly you say? Have you ever seen how fast mice can move? Agnes could have done laps around the house in the time that conversation between Burt and Puck took.
I predicted the other day that Agnes would be the one to return Buzzy – against Alice’s wishes – and I still stand by my theory. But I figured she would sit down and talk to Puck AFTER she returned him. I didn’t figure on her getting captured in the process.
I just adore your comics, Miss Georgia. They are always sure to bring a smile and a warm fuzzy feeling!
I found your comic because I have a gocomics app.
For the longest time, I thought maybe you lived in the southern hemisphere because the seasons didn’t match up with those up here, but when I found out you had a website, I realized gocomics is waaay behind your actual posts!
So now I subscribe to yours so I never miss a new one.
Thank you for your beautiful and hilarious comics.
“love thy neighbor, forgive your enemies, eat wrapping paper” : I’m loving Puck’s tips! Last week’s “holiday bows are not just for snacking” cracked me up.
I think Agnas is going to abandon her life of crime. Now to soften Alice’s heart. Maybe Tommy will find what Sophie is missing from her found object tree and win her heart.
Agnes sitting on the rim of the laundry basket is so cute. I think panels 5-7 show us the beginnings of the friendships between the cats and mice, starting with Puck and Agnes. I agree with the person who said in the comments a week or so ago that they think the Robber Mice Ladies are counterparts to The Boys. I’m not sure who Violet is the counterpart to, but I feel like Agnes=Puck, Alice=Elvis, and Natasha=Lupin. The Moue of Adventure is even hanging from Elvis’s tie like it’s a rope. I hope Tommy’s Christmas present is Sophie warming up to him. He’s such a glass-half-full sweetheart.
This is so sweet. Puck may be the Mighty Hunter of the boys, but he just isn’t cut out to be mean. Elvis and Lupin are adorable in their parts, too.
Nice to see that decent conversation between Puck and Agnes we were hoping for. And everyone’s confusion about where Agnes has gotten off to. At least both groups know the other didn’t have anything to do with the Teleporting Mouse. Predicting Baba Mouse, she’s got a lot of experience with these mice.
Thank you, Ace! You’re more right than you know–this particular strip originally would have been 2 strips! I had planned for eight parts, and then realized I’d only have 7 Mondays and Thursdays to work with. I almost ran Tommy’s part on Friday or Monday as an extra, but then I worried if folks missed it they might be behind!
Elvis is such an actor you should call him Elvis Barrymore! I love the way Lupin smiles through adversity. Now we wait to find out who sent Buzzy Mouse back.
I’ve seen some of those pictures. Elvis Presley may have done movies, but that doesn’t make him an actor. Personally, I think he should have just stuck to singing. The entire Barrymore family (Ethel, Lionel, John, and even Drew) actually knew/knows how to act.
And the Oscar goes to brave, heroic Elvis (aka “Pincushion”)! Hahahahaaa! Wise Burt stole my heart today… he’s far more than a minor player here now. He’s one of the Magi …
And Puck’s joy at his reunion with Buzzy brought a lump to my throat. So many great moments today!!
Violet: Don’t you dare let Lupin fall off that table! I don’t know if cats can land on their feet while tied up!! How fast did it take to tie him? Will we see you in a rodeo?
To BCN fans: Anyone notice how Elvis and Natasha was getting ready for a rematch, but I love the last two panels. It’s like everyone paws *hehe* for a moment and I love how Elvis doesn’t mind her on his shoulder and Natasha “could have” owned him with her sword in the last panel “This ain’t Cinderella!” Indeed.. I cannot wait till Monday 🙂
Poor Pucky, trying to do the right thing only to be attacked by the robber gang. Him lying on his back with the robber mouse holding him by the necktie is my favorite panel. Close second goes to Lupin tied up in ribbon. Please tell me there will be a medal of some sort for Elvis who was wounded in action.
The boys haven’t trussed up Agnes’ hands – she’s holding her eye-mask. I’m sure she could squeeze through that laundry basket mesh if she wanted, though maybe she feels she deserves to be in prison for a while.
As usual… every panel is purr-fection <3 i would have to write a novel to get in everything that was amazing about it, but… made me snort and laugh out loud when it cut to Lupin just grinning away all tied up like that, LOL. He's been enjoying himself so much the whole time i've wondered a few times if it was just his wild, cat of adventure side just overjoyed to be in the thick of it or if he didn't have a paw involved in what was going down.
Tommy & Sophie live a few blocks away – Agnes would need to be Speedy Gonzales’ sister to manage that! I don’t think artist Sophie means something has gone missing from her piece, rather it needs something else adding to it, just she can’t work out what it is yet.
I think what Chloe is missing is a heart inside of her. She was holding one, but didn’t know what to do with it and since i don’t see it in her tree, maybe she thought it wasn’t necessary after all. Poor Chloe. She needs Tommy more than she knows, and I’ve never seen him look so crushed before.
Georgia,
This is such a wonderful storyline. You may even be approaching a Charlie Brown level of Christmas wonderfulness. Can’t wait for the finale!
I’m still hoping for a Cat-Ghost-of-Christmas-Past appearance.
I’m not sure anything is missing over at Tommy’s house. I think Sophie is being an artist when she says that her art is missing something, as in, it isn’t quite right yet, it needs something more. Could it be the tree needs a trunk? And what letter of the alphabet would work well in that case? *wink*
Awwww!!!!!!!!!! Agnes must’ve returned Buzzy Mouse, the sweetie. 🙂 I love Burt’s heart-to-heart with Pucky . . . that is so heart-warming and beautiful. Makes me feel all fuzzy inside. 😀
first one in the “pucky’s perfect christmas tips” series was going one direction then the other way then the other way then the other way then the other way
i’m confused.
georgia can you get me back on story line track?
Swear to Cat! If only this sorry world could act more like your cats and mice what a better world it would be. BCN is so much better than watching any real media channels. If nothing else your magic is a true island of sanity for legions of your fans. Long may you prosper! Hugs
You are in sync with the universe. This morning I handed out some early Christmas present cat toys and a few hours later there among the new toys was our Buzzy Mouse who hasn’t been seen for at least two years! (This one doesn’t buzz, he just races in circles when you wind his motor.)
Elvis does not do three-leggedness nearly as well as Puck.
Well, a disaster has occurred. I have caught up. Sounds of overrevs as I gear down to only twice per week.
Georgia, you are very talented. I like the use of watercolour. It gives a friendly softness to the art. You capture body language beautifully. As for the scenarios, you nail them beautifully. Many are excellent. Only one fell flat for me. That was the one on the legalisation of gay marriage. I was very confused until near the end since rainbows have a cat application.
Here is my take on BCN and rainbows:
Title: Is it raining in the kitchen?
Panel 1: LUPIN at news desk with BUZZY MOUSE.
LUPIN: We have a report of possible rain in the kitchen. Elvis, what do our experts say?
Panel 2: ELVIS with chart, AGNES on the floor holding a crayon. ELVIS is holding a chart labelled “How Often Should It Rain …” and two datapoints “Outside” which has a bar about 1/3 of the chart high and “In the Kitchen” which just has a line. The chart was obviously drawn with crayon.
ELVIS: We do not believe this. Local experts — me … and Burt — have prepared this chart.
AGNES (word balloon right under Elvis’s and leading with a long tail down to Agnes): AHEM!
Panel 3: LUPIN at news desk with BUZZY MOUSE.
LUPIN: Thank you, Elvis. We go live to Puck in the kitchen.
Panel 4: PUCK in the kitchen. “Camera One” label.
PUCK: Lupin, I see no signs of rain.
Panel 5: PUCK in the kitchen. “Camera One” label.
LUPIN (voiceover): What about reports of a wet floor?
PUCK: Lupin, that is from the glass of water that you knocked off the table earlier.
Panel 6: PUCK in kitchen looking at window. A rainbow catcher is hanging in the kitchen window.
LUPIN (voiceover): Oh. What of other signs? Like rainbows?
PUCK: Well, there is a clear thing hanging in the window. It flashes with colour sometimes, and I think I have seen the same colour in the room. I do not know what it is.
Panel 7: LUPIN at news desk with BUZZY MOUSE.
LUPIN: Very interesting, Puck. Elvis, what do our experts say?
Panel 8: ELVIS speaking into mike. AGNES is on the floor.
ELVIS: The experts are not sure, but think it might be a rainbow cat. They are invisible —
LUPIN (voiceover): Like me?
ELVIS: Shut up, Lupin. They are invisible and have big paws that they use to pounce on rainbows. They then release them where the rainbows can not get away. Houses are commonly used for this.
Panel 9: ELVIS speaking into mike. AGNES is on the floor. ELVIS is holding a chart showing something catlike pouncing on a rainbow.
ELVIS: We —
AGNES: AHEM!
ELVIS: Fine. Agnes prepared this chart showing how they hunt.
Panel 10: LUPIN at news desk with BUZZY MOUSE.
LUPIN: Thank you, Elvis and Agnes. We return to Puck in the kitchen.
Panel 11: PUCK in the kitchen. “Camera One” label.
LUPIN (voiceover): Puck, can you see anything matching this?
PUCK: I’m looking. Oh, a flash of colour! More colour!
Panel 12: LUPIN at news desk with BUZZY MOUSE.
LUPIN: Any more detail, Puck?
PUCK: (no answer)
LUPIN: Puck?
PUCK: (no answer)
LUPIN: Puck, are you there?
Panel 13: PUCK in kitchen totally mesmerised by a rainbow on the floor.
PUCK: Oh, pretty! Better than the red dot!
Panel 14: (narrow panel. This and panel 15 together should be as wide as a usual panel.) News desk with BUZZY MOUSE. Speed lines show that LUPIN has just zoomed off.
Panel 15: (narrow panel. This and panel 14 together should be as wide as a usual panel.) ELVIS’s area. AGNES is on the floor. Speed lines show that ELVIS has just zoomed off. AGNES has thrown up her paws as if to say, “Cats. Who can understand them?”
It’s funny, I have a headline planned in the future where the cats are reacting to prisms hanging in the window and the colored lights they cast! It should make an appearance sometime this year. In real life they really enjoying chasing the little prism reflections.
Thank you. It was fairly easy since you have done such great character development. I just had to run the characters against each other instead of coming up with them.
Thank you, but as I replied to Georgia, she made it easy. If you look carefully, you will find a number of points derived directly from earlier strips. For example, the idea of Agatha preparing the chart comes from the ransom note strip.
I have had a blog for about 2 1/2 years now. I am multiples ahead of anyone who decides to start a blog and does not keep it going. And Georgia is multiples ahead of me.
Burt is a very smart barn cat.
If any wiser Burt was, words out-of-order would he have to use! 😉
LMAO! Perfect answer that is!
Agree, I do! =)
Plot twist! 💞
Tommy’s Christmas sweater is the best!
Oh dear… The plot thickens!
D’awwww! Cats and mice together having adventures! Yay for Puck!
Puck’s face in the last panel is priceless!!!
Ditto for me! I was concerned about Puck’s desire for revenge. Very relieved to see it addressed.
Aw Burt… giving Puck the sage advice.
Puck is just not himself when he is super angry!
I “ALMOST” Sprayed myself with the cleaning hose at work when I read “Hello Pincushion”…
I loved that too! Natasha is one sassy mouse!!
“Indifferent roommates” but Sophie is holding a heart… There’s hope for a Valentine’s Day special!
Perhaps Sophie has a secret beau?
“I was born for this, Tommy!” Epic.
I have to reply to tell you how much I grok your theory, lumberjack!
I have to reply to tell you how much I grok your theory, lumberjack!
The world needs more grok. Thankyouverymuch.
I suspect a certain jolly old elfcat may appear at the end as the deus ex machina

Agnes looks so sweet without her mask. And “something is missing” over at Tommy’s house. That Agnes is a fast mover once she got free!
I hope Tommy’s Christmas present is Sophie warming up to him. He’s such a glass-half-full sweetheart.
Arf? Is Sophie secretly communicating with dogs?
Don’t you know?
Tabitha scares dogs!
Love this storyline! Puck is so precious! Oh, my cat! “Hello Pincushion!”
Lupin likes being tied up? Who knew?
Oh, Sophie. Why not through Tommy a bone – or a catnip ball, or something – this one time? It’s Christmas, girl. :3
Love the ‘everyone on the naughty list’ and Agnes in panel six so sweet
All this special needs are Heat and Snow Miser.
Yes, Baba Mouse! Might she have delivered Buzzy and freed Agnes and swiped the heart or whatever is missing at Tommy’s house?
Yeah, that’s my prediction too – I’m sure Baba Mouse will have something to do with this. 🙂
This is great. I really think the best part of today’s is the dynamic between Alice and Elvis. Those two are meant for each other.
I like the “C-N-D” (I realize there’s a handle there) coffee cup with the candy canes in the first panel!
Wow! Today’s supersized episode is like three wonderful strips in one! You’re really spoiling us, Georgia!
Not me! I check the website every day, just in case!! 🙂
Lupin trussed up with that big smile on his face is just the best. 🙂
Hooray! Buzzy mouse is back and Agnes escaped! I hope she and Pucky can be friends.
Not even room to list all my favorite parts. Can’t wait for the rest.
Elvis is such an actor you should call him Elvis Barrymore! I love the way Lupin smiles through adversity. Now we wait to find out who sent Buzzy Mouse back.
Well the original Elvis did do movies.
I’ve seen some of those pictures. Elvis Presley may have done movies, but that doesn’t make him an actor. Personally, I think he should have just stuck to singing. The entire Barrymore family (Ethel, Lionel, John, and even Drew) actually knew/knows how to act.
Alhirgt alright alright that’s exactly what I needed!
So many great moments today!!
love it thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your family both 2 footed and 4 footed
everyone needs a ginger as a friend
Yes! I’ve always wanted a ginger cat for a friend. 🙂
Whew, finally off work! I wanted to say earlier,
Violet: Don’t you dare let Lupin fall off that table!
I noticed! Then, to see the two of them sharing close contact and forgetting to play the hero/heroine — so full of promise.
“everyone paws for a moment”… Good one!!
This induced feels. Definitely going down in the favorites. On a side note . . .
Lupin.
I was born for this.
Enough said.
I love Agnes in “jail” with her hands trussed and her little legs crossed. So cute. It’s the little touches that Georgia does that are so terrific.
The boys haven’t trussed up Agnes’ hands – she’s holding her eye-mask. I’m sure she could squeeze through that laundry basket mesh if she wanted, though maybe she feels she deserves to be in prison for a while.
Sweet little Puck “It’s giving me a guilty stomach ache…” The only other one who’d understand that is Agnes.
Could fast Agnes stolen the heart (something’s missing) and will this make Alice happy at Christmas?
Tommy & Sophie live a few blocks away – Agnes would need to be Speedy Gonzales’ sister to manage that! I don’t think artist Sophie means something has gone missing from her piece, rather it needs something else adding to it, just she can’t work out what it is yet.
Oh my gosh! This is amazing! I’m loving it!
But what about Elvis? Is his foot ok? What happened?
Pucks Christmas tips #4 🙂
Oh! I had forgotten about that! Poor Elvis! He’s a wounded warrior!
Aw Tommy, you love Sophie so much and can’t catch a break!
This arc is so full of quotable lines.
Ho-ho-hostage exchange! Haha, that’s perfect!
Georgia,
This is such a wonderful storyline.
*wink*
My sister is almost exactly like Elvis!!!!!! Burt is sooooooo wise!! What happened to agnes?!?!?!
‘Local Reporter injures paw’ … I bet Puck doesn’t really think much of that injury.
I think if Pucky was so preoccupied he would tell Elvis to suck it up 3 paws are plenty.
“Everyone on naughty list” got me laughing immediately, then Lupin tied up yet cheerfully continuing to broadcast…he is a consummate professional.
Eating wrapping paper only makes one feel good for a pretty short period of time …
But fiber is good for you!
Awwww!!!!!!!!!! Agnes must’ve returned Buzzy Mouse, the sweetie. 🙂 I love Burt’s heart-to-heart with Pucky . . . that is so heart-warming and beautiful. Makes me feel all fuzzy inside. 😀
Great story as always, but I can’t believe no one has asked this yet. What happened to poor Elvis’ paw?
In the strip on Monday the mouse with the needle (Sophie?) stuck him in the paw with her needle.
Not sure why I said Sophie, my brain must be on vacation. I meant Natasha.
Oh, right! I forgot that. thanks, Sue.
first one in the “pucky’s perfect christmas tips” series was going one direction then the other way then the other way then the other way then the other way
i’m confused.
georgia can you get me back on story line track?
This is a terrific holiday story, but I sure wish Sophie would treat Tommy better. She’s so cold-hearted and he’s such a great guy!
I think Georgia is constrained in that by the real-life Sophie’s cattitude toward Admiral Thomas Whiskerstache.
This is sadly very true.
I’m holding out for Sophie having a secret beau.
Even so, that would break Tommy’s heart 🙁
Heh, that last panel! 🙂 I see what you did there, Georgia. Who, what, how, when (or then), and where.
Wonderful as always, and a mystery cliffhanger!
Swear to Cat! If only this sorry world could act more like your cats and mice what a better world it would be. BCN is so much better than watching any real media channels. If nothing else your magic is a true island of sanity for legions of your fans. Long may you prosper! Hugs
Thank you, Taffy!! <3

Gene Werchenko really developed a plot. Took a good amount of time to put in writing. Liked it. Good job Gene.
I think the ceiling cats need an adventure now.
Here’s hoping that Elvis’ paw wil be A-OK! Poorr kitty….his stoic courage iS an inspiration!
Puck just can’t hold a grudge too long, can he? 🙂
