Credit for the line “THIS AIN’T CINDERELLA!” has to go to my sister Grace, who texted me that the first time she spotted Natasha’s needle-sword in the Thanksgiving day strip. She was so excited, and it was just so perfect. It cracked me up so much, I had to work it in. Thank you, Grace!
Yeah, we may need to have that panel in some kind of form where we can have it everywhere. (or at least the puck and lupin parts. Elvis’ part doesn’t work as well out of context ) A t-shirt maybe?
This has to be the best one yet of this series! “THIS AIN’T CINDERELLA!” hahahaha Thank you Georgia for making my day.
I got my little barn cat home and my Manx hates the poor little guy. He doesn’t take any guff from her though even though he’s just a baby. He kind of skirts around her and does what he wants. They climb the huge cat tree and and sleep on different levels.
Pucky and Buzzy have matching Christmas sweaters. Soooo cute. And Lupin’s face in panel 11 is so, well, Lupin! Looks like he is getting Adventure for Christmas. π
Natasha, the little criminal diva, is fabulous with her needle sword and her lipstick. I also loved her ‘Heeey!’ mugshot.
Well, now the boys have Agnes. Agnes is the sympathetic one and I think she and Puck will get a chance to talk now that she’s a hostage. Alice will have her faith in Christmas renewed, I’m sure.
I wonder if they’ll get any information about the robber mice from Baba Mouse? She’s been around… she probably knows…
Poor Agnes. When the melee began, she just covered her eyes and froze. She seems to have a sweet personality like Puck and Tommy (my favorites). I can see Puck believing her if she tells them she was against the mouse-napping from the beginning; if she isn’t too scared to speak. Puck and Buzzy Mouse wearing matching Christmas sweaters was BEYOND cute.
Oh, my fur and whiskers! This is getting complicated…two hostages, a combat injury and a side of Elvis we’ve never seen. Puck wanted revenge but Elvis is just … mad!
Can’t wait to see where this goes. (As if we didn’t know…)
Gosh, what a treat! You, Georgia & Grace must be such good buddies, a sister is such a blessing, I lost mine to cancer at 58 so, enjoy, life is short, your kitties are a joy, thanks x
Poor Elvis! At least the boys have a bargaining chip now. Time for a prisoner swap! (Speaking of cheese wheels, a local grocery store will be giving samples of a 555-pound cheddar cheese wheel this weekend; I’ll definitely have to make a stop there! I can share a link to the story on your Facebook page, if you’re interested.))
I adore Pucky’s range of expressions! I can see him going from determination to doubt as he has a pang of conscience about whether the plan is a good idea…and then back to fierce resolution when the mice show up sans Buzzy…and then back to uncertainty when he sees the quivering mousey. His ears and his little paws convey so much!
Oh, Natasha is one bad mouse! In the last strip she was saying she’d let Kit Chase chase her but when Elvis does, she stabs him with her mini-rapier! C’mon, Natasha, really! Elvis is far better. Kit Chase doesn’t measure up like our handsome moody Elvis does.
And I love how she smeared her lipstick when they found Agnes was missing. (Who knew mice had lips?) Sounds silly but I’m not fond of Natasha — not a nice little lady mouse at all. Now, Agnes and Alice are sweet even if Alice has a dark sad side to her. Violet? Not showing her personality yet but I hope it’ll show more throughout this series. Maybe a sweeter side of Natasha will show later.
But I’m really hoping Agnes wasn’t hurt, only trembling in fear, since the wrapped tin still had its lid on when it, and then Lupin, landed on her. I feel confident that sweet sympathetic Puck π±will protect sweet sympathetic Agnes π once the facts are discovered. (See how well you’ve captured your audience’s emotions, Georgia, when we’re fretting over cartoon mice and cats because they’re real to us?)
I absolutely love the interplay of the personalities among your different characters throughout all your strips, Georgia!!! They show how much you love animals. The lovely drawings and colourings along with their conversations have woven complex heart-warming funny stories that hold us enthralled. Writing a story using only conversation and nothing extra isn’t an easy thing as I know. I’ve done it (without graphics) but not nearly half as well as you do. I hope you never stop sharing these with us — not ever!!!
Agnes should be fine, just stunned. It was a cookie tin minus the lid. So they wrapped it over the opening, so that it looked solid but the wrapping paper would break trapping them in the tin. The wrapping papered tin falling on her would have had enough force to stun her a bit (plus scare her), but it wouldn’t have squished her.
Uh…I must say right now I’m glad that the newscatsters are anthropomorphic cats. Agnes will be treated more humanely, that being the case. But maybe that’s part of my cats’ appeal to me. Most of the time they’re as sweet as can be, but you let ’em get outside and see a baby bird fall out of the nest and thousands of generations of instinct kick right in:-/. Cats have a Nietzschean transcendence of good and evil, and they can still be adorable. Go figure.
Reading this (and re-reading last year’s Christmas special on gocomics) I am struck once again by how much emotion you manage to convey with the set of their ears and their posture. To see poor Elvis obviously terrified in the wood pile and Puck’s sadness when it appears the mice may not show up at the drop site is really marvelous. You have a gift and we thank you for sharing!
Poor Agnes! She is one scared little mouse. Good thing Puck seems to be having second thoughts about how far he wants to take his revenge in the last panel. Nice foreshadowing who was going to end up trapped – when the trap springs, Agnes ducks and covers while everyone else runs.
I don’t have a sister, but I DO have a brother and Heaven help anyone who kidnaps him. Wonder how deep the Protective Sister runs in Alice.
Puck’s take on Christmas season, ‘What matters most is who you share it with’. Just read the previous Christmas special on Go Comics where Tommy is sharing his humble digs with Elvis. Remarkable sharing going on in your
world of breaking Cat News stories! Thanks you Georgia!
“You forgot your complimentary gift bag full of JUSTICE!”
“This ain’t Cinderella!”
“A woman can be whatever she wants”
So many great lines in one strip — this is a treasure!! I love it!
Poor Agnes…
The pre taped segment with Puck holding Buzzy Mouse with a look of pure joy on his face brought a tear to my eye knowing they are currently separated.
I liked Elvis’ indignation at the mice requesting a whole wheel of cheese when the cats are lucky to get a cube or two a week.
Agnes trembling in fear looks a bit like Buzzy Mouse. I think the sensitive side of Puck is coming out and he is having second thoughts about revenge. I was thinking maybe Agnes and the boys would team up to bring A/V special effects ghosts of past present and future to Alice to bring about a change of heart, though I don’t know if three strips is enough time to pull it off. Lupin would make a perfect ghost of Christmas Present.
Georgia, I wanted to let you know about your new fan. She’s my 93 year old mom. I stay overnight once a week to help her with personal things she can’t do well now. She doesn’t have full-blown dementia but I’d say her pre-dementia is getting severe. My poor mom always dwells on negative thoughts and past actions. I try my best to distract her with funny, happy or interesting things so tonight, I thought I’d show her some of your strips.
I wasn’t sure she’d be interested in them but she loved them! I read her your Thanksgiving strip and then, the first installment of Pucky’s Christmas tips. She really seemed interested so I asked if she wanted me to read her more and she did! Her eyesight is bad and she has difficulty understanding even simple things so I needed to paraphrase a bunch. When I came to today’s story, I told her that the next part wouldn’t be till Thursday which made her a little sad.
I was surprised how much your stories captivated her and she quickly grew fond of Puck. She loves your drawings too.She asked who wrote this and I showed her what your real boys look like, and you and your husband’s photo too. Her words, “She’s a pretty girl!”
I’ll need to bring over my tablet each time I visit to keep her up-to-date now. She’ll probably forget by next visit that I even read these but hopefully, with the continuing adventures of your boys something might stick. Thank you, Georgia, for bringing a ray of sunshine into her life. β€
It must be said that Alice isn’t exactly the criminal mastermind she considers herself to be. Setting up an exchange where mice are within paw’s reach of their feline adversaryisn’t the smartest move in the world; doing so in a location that provides an ideal hiding (and pouncing) spot for that cat’s compatriots is on a “Take The Money And Run” level of ineptitude.
Loving it! Lupin’s face of pure joy, Puck’s changing emotional ears, Elvis’s loyalty to his buddies, the mouse caper that (pretty sure) will bring Alice back from the “dark side”. (had to get a Star Wars reference in) And of course, all fur friends will “live long & prosper”. ππΈπ
My compliments always seem to be the same, so I’ll just say that I love this comic so much. It always makes me smile, even on the worst days. It is sweet without being saccharine, clever with just enough of an edge, and full of wonderful details. Thank you for sharing your talents and your cats with us.
I don’t normally comment, but I felt the need to tonight. My little family (myself, husband and 6 month baby girl Madalyn), came home to find our 6 month old boy kitten Jayne had gotten out and been hit by a car. He was special. A mix of egyptian Mao, main coin, Siamese and rag doll. Our Siamese/rag doll cross, Inara, had a trio and the runt, little Jayne, chose us and our week old baby. Our other two kitties, Captain Malcolm and Penelopie, won’t leave our sides and we can’t get Inara out from under the bed. It has been a horrible evening. I say all this to let you know how much joy your comics bring to us, they made all of us giggle, Miss Maddy loves all the colors and smiles at every one. Thank you for giving us something to smile and laugh at tonight. π
Oh, Maggie, I am so, so sorry to hear this! Love from our little family to yours. Jayne sounds like he was a beautiful kitty. Wishing comfort to you all and Captain Malcolm and Penelopie too. I’m glad that the comic can give you some cheer, many hugs to you!
Deep sympathy, Maggie… based on your cats’ names, I thought you might like a silly little kitty ditty… I hope it doesn’t make you cry in a bad way.
The Hero of Cat-ton (The Ballad of Jayne)
He jumped on the table and slid on the floor.
Curled up with the people and he gave them what for.
Our love for him now ain’t hard to explain,
The Hero of Cat-ton, the cat they call Jayne!
Now Jayne saw Maggie’s heart meltin’.
He heard little Maddy’s sweet coo.
And he saw that kibble in the kitchen
And that kitten knew just what to do.
So he said, “You must be my people!”
“And the rumble of my purr you must feel!”
Jayne didn’t scat,
And in five seconds flat,
Stole every heart that family had to steal.
Good morning Georgia……looking forward to continuing Christmas Tips special…you pack a lot of action in. I look forward to two comic strips, BCN and Jimmy Johnson’s ‘Arlo and Janis’….they have a cat named Ludwig, who I just love….he’s purple. Today’s real time strip made me thing of the boys at BCN….boxes http://www.gocomics.com/arloandjanis. Just wanted to share a smile with you.
In ever strip…Elvis is MY MAN!! Was he running with such ferocity that he was set on fire? Or that just the color playing tricks on me…maybe i’m projecting because Elvis IS MY MAN!! haha It’s funny, I only found this site because I was curious if anyone else was making cat comics :3 I’ll have to share when I post mine- – – I’m so glad I found these though, i’ve been binge reading them for hours now haha
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS I LOVE THAT YOU USED ITTTT
IT WAS SO GOOD!!! Also I might cheer that to myself a lot now. Like, when I am driving. Or at the grocery store. Or doing dishes. Or anywhere!
It took me reading this comment to get the joke, and I love it (the mice from Cinderelly are my favourite).
Poor Agnes. She didn’t really want to do this and she was the one trapped by the “cheese wheel”!
Prisoner exchange!
“Oh my gouda” is a great line!! Even better is the whole panel “you forgot your complementary gift bag full of justice”! π
oh, no!! poor micy!!
Love the lipstick!
“A woman can be whatever she wants.”
Oh, man. Feminist!Lupin is just angling to get scritched behind the ear, isn’t he?
Yeah, we may need to have that panel in some kind of form where we can have it everywhere. (or at least the puck and lupin parts. Elvis’ part doesn’t work as well out of context ) A t-shirt maybe?
And they capture the sympathetic one…
Love Lupin’s lazy “A woman can be whatever she wants” line.
I love Lupin’s face in the last panel!!
Buzzy mouse has a drawstring doesn’t he? He was my Buddy’s favorite. I buried him with it (and his favorite blankie). Love these Georgia!!
Yes, he does!
And Elvis’ pounding his fist off his other paw.
If they’re already sleeping that close to each other, they are going to be fine.
Pucky and Buzzy have matching Christmas sweaters. Soooo cute. And Lupin’s face in panel 11 is so, well, Lupin! Looks like he is getting Adventure for Christmas. π
Oh, my, the mouse with her compact and lipstick — too funny! Can’t wait to see the next episode.
I like that Buzzy Mouse’s sweater matches Puck’s sweater! Love this strip.
Oh my gouda!!! π Haha!
Poor Agnes *tsk* . . . and she’s the sweetie of the group.

Gosh, what a treat! You, Georgia & Grace must be such good buddies, a sister is such a blessing, I lost mine to cancer at 58 so, enjoy, life is short, your kitties are a joy, thanks x
This was wonderful. Another classic Christmas tale in the making. Thank you, Georgia.

Sure! I’d love to see it! I’m a cheddar fan myself!
If anyone here likes cheddar, here’s a link to the story! http://blog.festfoods.com/2015/12/09/getting-part-of-the-big-cheese/
luvluvluv Lupin’s POUNCE! !
I love Elvis the Avengerπ And I already know exactly when this strip will make me cry..When Pucky and Buzzy are reunited…Can’t wait!!!
Am I the only one who pictured Elvis in a Batman costume when he said that?
Yay!
Get ’em, Lupin!
Pucky looks so sad. Poor guy.
And kudos to Grace for that line, it’s pretty evident that talent runs in the family.
I love that his eyes were closed as he threw the lid. Even in full vengeance mode violence isn’t really his thing.
“Oh my gouda.” Hahahaha! I camembert it!

The wrapping papered tin falling on her would have had enough force to stun her a bit (plus scare her), but it wouldn’t have squished her.
Thanks, De and Celestia! I had to go back and look again. I kept missing the minus sigh for the lid in the trap so was puzzled about Agnes.
They wrapped the tin without the lid. It was a false top so they could use it as a trap
Oops. Somehow the colours of the kitty and mouse emoticons got switched.
a twist in plot
Oh, poor little Agnes! We know the Boys won’t really hurt her, but still, she’s so scared…
I know those panels really tell their story. Pucks changing expression is so heart breaking, just want to cuddle him
Oh my, is Agnes dead? Hurt? An ex-mouse? π
Nah, just scared and trapped. She wouldn’t be trembling if she was dead.
Whooo hooo!!! Pawsome to the max!! Love the entire strip today!! Agnes, and Buzzy Mouse to be exchanged!! Grrrrr8!!!
Lupin’s face as he peers wickedly out of the Christmas tree is my new favorite thing.
Pucks face in the last panel is so sad. All he wants is Buzzy back. I feel for Agnes, she wanted no part of this and now she is the captive.
My thoughts exactly. My cat and my pet mouse were best of friends!
Me tooβ¦hopefully in the end Puck will not only get Buzzy Mouse back, but also gain a new mouse friend in Agnes.
Way to go guys!!! *cheers*
Sorry men but, I gotta say this…
Panel 19, Lupin for the Win!! “A woman can be whatever she wants!”
I smiled.. That philosophy is so true…. π
I think I see a “Give Peace a Chance” opportunity coming. At least, I hope. Although, knowing Georgia, I’m pretty certain.
Poor little Agnes! She’s shaking with fear! She’s obviously in fear for her life π She doesn’t deserve that.
“You forgot your complimentary gift bag full of JUSTICE!”
“This ain’t Cinderella!”
“A woman can be whatever she wants”
So many great lines in one strip — this is a treasure!! I love it!
Poor Agnes…
I love Pucky’s and Buzzy Mouse’s coordinating sweaters. <3
Okay – I’ve got it bad. I dreamed about robber mice last night.
Yay!!! That is great!!

This story is just getting cheddar and cheddar.
Georgia, I wanted to let you know about your new fan. She’s my 93 year old mom. I stay overnight once a week to help her with personal things she can’t do well now. Elvis is very john McLean esque in this one
How am I supposed to wait until Thursday???? Georgia, I can’t tell you enough how much I love this strip, it always brightens my day.
That being said, is it Thursday yet? No? How about now? π
clever boys! I feel a little bad for Agnes, but I hope Puck gets Buzz Mouse back soon!
Love the progression of emotions on poor Pucky’s face in panels 6-8.
This was priceless! I do love the mouse with needle. The tailor and, cinderella reference just great.
Elvis FTW! “You forgot your complimentary gift bag full of Justice!”
You, Madame, are an artist with both brush and pen! Fantastic writing!
We definitely need ‘ This ain’t Cinderella’ on a t-shirt!
They will now…oh yes…
Vengeful Puck! Angry Elvis! Poor Agnis! Da best yet!
mary, i know how you feel;
tick…tock…tick…tock…tick…tock…tick…tock…tick…tock…tick…tock…tick…
tock…tick…tock…tick…tock…tick…tock.
What a good job conveying the action in their “cheese wheel ruse.” “Complimentary gift bag full of justice” made me laugh out loud at work.
I don’t normally comment, but I felt the need to tonight. Maggie….hugs, sorry to read of your loss. Especially at this time of year.
I’m very sorry about the kitten they call Jayne. (((HUGS))) (As a Browncoat myself, I love your choice of names!)
Deep sympathy, Maggie… based on your cats’ names, I thought you might like a silly little kitty ditty… I hope it doesn’t make you cry in a bad way.
The Hero of Cat-ton (The Ballad of Jayne)
He jumped on the table and slid on the floor.

Our love for him now ain’t hard to explain,

Good morning Georgia……looking forward to continuing Christmas Tips special…you pack a lot of action in. OMG! Just realized that Buzzy Mouse and Puck are wearing matching sweaters in the third panel! Every time I read these strips I see something new!
Ok, I see others saw this long ago. I’m just slow π
In ever strip…Elvis is MY MAN!! Was he running with such ferocity that he was set on fire?
