As many of you can probably guess, I have been *DYING* to let you know that subtitles were on the way (and some of you guessed!) but I had to wait until I could get us all “on their channel” so to speak! A few other surprises are in store for us from the Gatos de Noticias team, but I hope everyone enjoys this strip and finally seeing what they have to report to us!
The look of Elvis waiting at the bottom of the laundry chute is just PRICELESS! BTW, you REALLY have a laundry chute, or is this a ‘literary device’?
-A
I hate to admit, it is a ‘literary device’! The laundry room is real though, and I got to thinking it might be a good stage to bring all of the cats in the building together. I had to find a way to get them all there, though! Laundry chutes fascinated me as a kid, they seem to show up all the time in old New England houses. I’m living vicariously through Lupin in these strips! (I’m kind of surprised this house doesn’t have one! Or a dumb waiter. It does have servants’ stairs and an old gas lamp shaft/outlet/whatever those round discs were though).
My parents had an old Victorian-era home divided up into apartments. One day they were fixing the front hallway lamp (converted from gas to electric by previous owners) and found that the gas line to the lamp had been capped, but never shut off!
Also, not a laundry chute, but I was fascinated with a little port through the wall on the porch… Back in the day, the milkman could leave the milk in it (from the outside door), and the cooking staff could retrieve the milk (through the inside door). No need to step outside.
It’s okay, my brother and I used to jump down our laundry chute from the top floor all the way down to the laundry room. there was a few times where we.got stuck because there was so much laundry piled up you couldn’t get to the door and you’d have to hope that whatever sibling didn’t jump would come get you out. Didn’t help my brother used to wet the bed and wouldn’t warn me that he had thrown all his blankets down the chute until I was stuck in it…..
Great comic (as always)! I guess people not knowing the whole history of the cats would get quite confused by the necessity to subtitle one’s own comic 🙂
Eep! The anticipation of Elvis damaging inter-floor relations alongside the cutest ever expression on Lupin’s face! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE! !!!!!!!
I’m new to breaking cat news, and always wondered how puck lost his hind leg. In You tube video Georgia shared, I see he does very well. Being an illustrator & writer in the Hallmark Contemporary Studio back in the 1960s, I enjoy Georgia’s cat story & cat animations.
Thank you!! And he does get around very well indeed! Puck lost his leg as a kitten. (There’s a more in depth version of the story on his “about” page). He came to us shortly after his surgery when he was about 12 weeks old, and it has never slowed him down. He’s even the best climber of the boys!
That last panel has tons of awesome stuff, but I think my favorite part of this one is Lupin’s face while he’s playing with the socks in panel 6. Something about those happy little teeth. Can’t wait to see the next installment!

I believe she is a domestic short haired tabby, but I love Maine Coons! She does have the M in real life, perhaps she has an ancestor in there somewhere….
Can’t avoid the nit pick Cat of Adventure should be ” Gato de Aventura” or “Gato Aventuroso” but it might be a difference between puertorrican spanish and canadian spanish.
Don’t mind me, I’ll be hiding in the laundry room.
i thought she might be maine coon too because of the M! though i have seen very similwar marks on tabby’s too. maine coons are such sweet hearsts and so big and fluffy x33

Lupin is ADORABLE in the last panel!!!
Unbelievably so!
Love it! Even my Cuban husband has started to take an interest in BCN now that they are “co-broadcasting” with Gatos de Noticias!
Haha too funny Elvis’ face!!

Those were for displaying the heads of the less obedient servants.
I would like to like this ^ 1,000 times. 🙂
HAHA!!
Yes, this comment deserves that many likes! teehee

I got stuck in one…when I was in my twenties.

That last panel needs some ominous music to accompany angry Elvis peering out from the laundry chute!
How do you translate “Dunn! Dun DUNNN!!” into Spanish ..?
“¡¡¡Duñ Duñ DUÑÑÑ!!!”
Oh, Elvis, sneaky siamese… can’t wait to see how you will influence the image of the floor cats)
What lies around the corner for Sir Figaro Newton? Will a turf war break out between the rival channels? Stay tuned!
Hoooray, wonderful as always! And that Elvis Look….ohhhhh there will be a Gato News update in 3….2…..1
Fabuloso, loving Elvis x
Great comic (as always)! I guess people not knowing the whole history of the cats would get quite confused by the necessity to subtitle one’s own comic 🙂
So is Tabitha a senorita or a senora? Maybe the “floor” cats will take a romantic interest in her!
Do hope so, would love to see a smitten kitten
Tabitha is so pretty. Love her facial expressions too.
Eep! The anticipation of Elvis damaging inter-floor relations alongside the cutest ever expression on Lupin’s face! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE! !!!!!!!
So worth the wait! The adorability in every single panel goes all the way to eleven!
Your house reminds me of the place I shared with JD and Dave. Spanish voices on the other floors, Servant stairway…
Having seen YouTube video of the BCN crew, will there be one ofSir Figaro Newton and the ceiling cats?
That would have to be up to their owners, but I could check!
In the name of all that is fluffy, where can I find these videos?!
I keep meaning to add more, but here’s the first! http://youtu.be/KM41RvEIpfA There’s one of Elvis when he was a kitten on that YouTube channel too!
Look out, Sir Figaro, Elvis is a Realzie!
Elvis on da prowl! Love his look there and Tabatha’s such a pretty kitty.
OMG – that last panel made me chortle with glee. Get’em Elvis!
Now Elvis is going to get all poofy and clog up the laundry chute.
When you’re a floorcat you’re a floorcat all the way
From your first bit ‘o catnip ’til your ladt dyin’ day….
huevos rancheros for me!
oh. mygosh! SO much squee!
I’m so excited I can hardly stand it. I wonder how much they will like Elvis?
Can I request changing the subtitle font for future strips? The yellow and black outline is so hard to read. ^_^;;
Oh, I hope Puck is right behind Elvis to help keep the new found peace!
….sort of an Indiana Jones-take.
Post Script: thanks for the subtitles.
Can I just say… squee~! This looks like fun!
I smell trouble in the last panel!!!

And Lupin still keeps having fun. 😀
But watch out for Elvis’s epic kitty glare.
Also, thanks for putting in subtitles. I’m so amused at the “steal our laundry room” thing.
Elvis reminds me of Bucky from Get Fuzzy. Bucky always has his ears back flat and Elvis get’s puffy at the drop of a hat.

Hahaha!! That’s great! 😀
Tabitha is a Maine Coon? I see the M on her head!
I believe she is a domestic short haired tabby, but I love Maine Coons! She does have the M in real life, perhaps she has an ancestor in there somewhere….
P.S. mission kitty says..adopt a human today please..she just has too many..lol

I like how you put subtitles.
And the punchline being Elvis glaring from the laundry chute. Bloody genius.
