What a wonderful surprise for an early Sunday morning. And how scary is this? That tapestry – who’s that little adorable Saint? What had Wicked/t done to her? Oh the poor mousie. She’s a ghost, ne’? So — Tillie, Puck and Ste. “Who?” to the rescue! How does one wait ’til tomorrow…
The last panel – I am quite literally speechless. Except that I hope you get someone to needlepoint, crewel, or weave that thing (with permission and in collaboration etc.) pronto. For sale or auction. Wow. An ancient prophetic tale!
Oh, my Cat, what a wonderful surprise this morning! The suspense keeps going! Not that I understand the “one day” thing, but I’m hoping the Robber Mice girls can coordinate with the various cats to rescue poor Alice. We do know that the Robber Mice girls are very good at organizing . . . and our boys are also good at organizing (witness last Christmas). I can’t wait to see what kind of coordinated operation they set up!
Wow! What a wonderful surprise to start our Sunday morning. Thank you, Georgia. May the spirit of the brave Mouse Saint encourage the girls in the urgent 1 day Quest.
Georgia, I love bonus strips! Do we really get to see the next episode on Monday? This should be a good week coming up. An extra comic and I anticipate receiving the Shelter Cat Poster I ordered from your site a few days back. It will be displayed prominently in the shelter “Kittery”. The poster is so sweetly done, and unfortunately shows the attitudes of so many who insist on “the most perfect cat or kitten”. Like Elvis I often want to swat some of the potential adopters who say things like “she’s three years old, I want a younger cat”. or “I wanted a long haired tabby” or any other complaint. Thank you for making the poster available.
Yes, wonderful and beautiful! The mice have a culture – and I’m wondering if the little mousie saint with the sword might be an ancestor of Natasha’s. Not to mention, someone really good with a needle did that tapestry! Thank you for the treat – it makes waiting for Monday more bearable.
Hmmm… so maybe Wicket’s running away had a rodent component! Obviously, Baba wasn’t the only mouse to ever escape him– but then we know his statements can’t be trusted already!
And once again I am -delighted- at the parallels in naming between your story and mine, Georgia! I know it is purely coincidental but I am somehow flattered anyway. 🙂 🙂 🙂 (i.e. “Wicket” = “Wicked”)
Hmm, I’m having a thought. If there’s a tapestry of a sainted mouse, perhaps that mouse was successful at beating Wicket off? (Was the sainted mouse’s name Joan, by chance?) Perhaps that’s why Wicket had to leave suddenly (with young Baba Mouse)? Now, hmm, how to explain why Wicket left Baba Mouse on the beach with the turkey . . . oh, the suspense is killing me!
I’m curious if that mouse on the tapestry was an ancient hero that defeated Wicket a long time ago. Maybe (s)he could be a ancestor of Anges and Viola.
Georgia this is AMAZING!!!!! Natasha is quite the swordswoman! so now we know that the Robber Mice live in a white structure, that mice have a very interesting history, and that Wicked Wicket is either a whole lot older than we first thought, or this is a descendent or that Wicket cannot die unless Princess Lukie Mousewalker vanquishes him with a garlic stake? or am I mixing my metaphors? at any rate Agnes must be rescued!
Yay! A Sunday special! I can see from that beautifully detailed tapestry the age-long tenuous relationship between owl and field mouse. I really hope Wicket just means to intimidate Alice. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s strip! 🙂
BTW, love, love, love your specials and learning more of the backstories about your beloved cast of characters!! Give me specials, dailies, twice weeklies, color, b&w, however you want to do them, just please, don’t ever stop creating them! That said, Georgia, you bring a great deal of joy into our lives! there will always be critics and naysayers, and they may have some constructive things to say, learn from them, and then there are those of us who love everything you do and want you to do things a certain way too, but you must create as God has gifted you to create. But don’t ever lose sight of the fact that the greatest roles you have been given to fulfill is that of Self, Wife, Mother, Daughter & Granddaughter, no one else can replace you in those roles. Sorry to be so long winded.
Great fun to see you, The Man, Lupin & Elvis and to hear The Toddler yesterday. Thanks for sharing part of your life with us!
Gloria, thank you so much!! This comment was a wonderful thing to read first thing in the morning, I wish I could bottle it up! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday weekend!
I’m mildly puzzled by the cast list. It has the names of all four mice, as I expected, but then also lists ‘robber mice’–isn’t that the Fierce Four? (Alice, Natasha, Agnes, and Violet)
Something about this site won’t let me reply directly so to Drew B. about Redwall: Yup. Never heard of Mouse Guard but I suspect it will go on my list soon.
Boy, I have to agree with Gloria, above. This is a wonderful bonus, and I am grateful. Please just keep doing the strip, however you see fit, color, black and white, daily, semi weekly, serial, one off, specials, whatever you do I know I will adore. I especially enjoyed the sneak preview of the weeklies, and for those who were not on the feed, you have nothing to worry about. The strips have all of the detail, whimsy, flavor, humor, and pathos of the current ones, but may include some really cool backstory. Speaking of story, the storylines will have a longer time period to play out, we get a great new one every day, and our favorite cartoonist gets to 1) not only have a manageable workload, 2) spend some time with her growing young family, but ALSO 3) may finally get some richly deserved compensation for what has been, thus far, an act of absolute charity, her gift to a bunch of total strangers. I did not think is was possible, but BCN just seems to get better and better all the time.
I love it! My day started with a rainbow directly over my house even though the sun had yet to rise and it wasn’t raining. Now a bonus Breaking Cat News report. Can this day get any better?
Is this an homage to the Bayeux Tapestry or the Apocalypse Tapestry? I used to do crewel and needlepoint and counted cross stitch before my eyesight got too wonky for the teeny tiny stitches. If only there were a large enough magnifying glass and an embroidery kit of the Robbermice Tapestry, I’d be stitching again!
So it the ancient tapestry a depiction of how Wicket got his wing broken back in the 90s? (25 years is a LOT of generations of mice, that would be ancient times to them)
Wonderful bonus strip! Thank you so much, Georgia. Hoping for the best outcome and the rescue of Alice as soon as possible. I love the robber mice. They’re great characters. Could the brave hero in the picture be one of the mice’s great-great-grandparents?
Natasha put me in mind of Xena with her warrior *poke* prowess. I sure hope Alice is alright. I was hoping he was just bringing them to Baba Mouse as a love offering, because she would make sure they wouldn’t get hurt. Then I realized, “Wow, I’m really caught up in this story!” But that’s what a good storyteller does, she captures her readers imagination without them realizing and leaves them wanting more. The strips keep getting better and better. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent with us 🙂
Ok, forgot to add, love the sound effect when she whips out the two needles. That motion reminds me of the walking dead…The girl with the samurai sword, whose name just slipped out of my brain.
WHOO, bonus strip right as I’m about to log off! Poor Natasha… ONE DAY MAY NOT BE ENOUGH!
Errrrr… Poor *ALICE*. Did I mention being about to log off to go to bed? *g*
It is the prophecy, as foretold in the ancient tapestry!
That’s one safe, anyway. Worry, worry…
So THAT must be the infamous teeny medieval tapestry, of which you spoke!
Oooohh, the suspense!
The last panel – I am quite literally speechless. Except that I hope you get someone to needlepoint, crewel, or weave that thing (with permission and in collaboration etc.) pronto. For sale or auction. Wow. An ancient prophetic tale!
Alice is a heroine, having Natasha get free to warn the others! I love the tapestry and who is the brave mouse pictured in it?
Oh Alice! Sending Natasha to worn the others of the threat! What a changed MOUSIE you are.
Oh, my Cat, what a wonderful surprise this morning! The suspense keeps going! Wow! The plot thickens.
Wow! What a wonderful surprise to start our Sunday morning. Thank you, Georgia. May the spirit of the brave Mouse Saint encourage the girls in the urgent 1 day Quest.
Love the Bayeux tapestry tribute!
Spectacular! Thanks very much for the bonus strip. Shades of Mouse Guard!
Way to pump up the tension, Georgia! Being a mouse IS a hard business!!!
When is the next post due? Being a reader is a hard business!
This may be very niche, but does anyone else see the mice tapestry and think “Redwall”?
No, I thought of Mouse Guard.
Reminds me of the Redwall series. I’m sure Alice will survive!

WOW…just WOW
At the risk of sounding silly, is this a Redwall reference by chance?
Yes, wonderful and beautiful! The mice have a culture – and I’m wondering if the little mousie saint with the sword might be an ancestor of Natasha’s. Not to mention, someone really good with a needle did that tapestry! Thank you for the treat – it makes waiting for Monday more bearable.

Natasha the ninja mouse! love it!
And once again I am -delighted- at the parallels in naming between your story and mine, Georgia! I know it is purely coincidental but I am somehow flattered anyway. 🙂 🙂 🙂 (i.e. “Wicket” = “Wicked”)
Hmm. Is Wicket the reason these mice carry around needles? (And are they any relation to Arya Stark’s Needle?)
Hmm, I’m having a thought. If there’s a tapestry of a sainted mouse, perhaps that mouse was successful at beating Wicket off? (Was the sainted mouse’s name Joan, by chance?) Been following this story avidly. I was hoping for a solution to the Mystery of the Runcible Spoon. A guy can dream, can’t he?
😉

Gloria, thank you so much!! This comment was a wonderful thing to read first thing in the morning, I wish I could bottle it up! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday weekend!
Wicket/d is quite an infamous character. Star of both The Owl and the Pussycat AND an ancient legend!
An extra strip today, what a nice surprise. So glad one got away but poor Alice.
I’m mildly puzzled by the cast list. It has the names of all four mice, as I expected, but then also lists ‘robber mice’–isn’t that the Fierce Four? (Alice, Natasha, Agnes, and Violet)
Will Bubba Mouse make Wicket give up Alice? I don’t see how he would give Alice up except to show his love for her and he has “changed”.
Catastic!!!! What a morning to read about the mice!#
Something about this site won’t let me reply directly so to Drew B. about Redwall: Yup. Never heard of Mouse Guard but I suspect it will go on my list soon.
I like “Wicked”, because I do not like Wicket. Give him a few more pokes, Georgia!
Absolutely delightful! Love the tapestry!
Wow. !! The suspense is killing me !!

Bum Bum Bum BUMMMMMMMMMM
Love the tapestry
Is that a halo on the tapestry mouse – or a space helmet ?
I love it! My day started with a rainbow directly over my house even though the sun had yet to rise and it wasn’t raining. Now a bonus Breaking Cat News report. Can this day get any better?

I know Wicket’s gotta eat, but we know these mice…Looks like we may find out what happened to Wicket’s wing back when, too.
Maybe this is a bonus episode. On the other hand, I assumed that Georgia finished the usual next episode early, so her family could have a holiday.
So it the ancient tapestry a depiction of how Wicket got his wing broken back in the 90s? (25 years is a LOT of generations of mice, that would be ancient times to them)

Thank you, Mary!
A hero mouse in the tapestry? Could it be Martin The Warrior of Redwall Abbey?
Ok, forgot to add, love the sound effect when she whips out the two needles. That motion reminds me of the walking dead…The girl with the samurai sword, whose name just slipped out of my brain.
