I am so thankful for your comic strip! It always makes me so happy, and this strip is no exception. I hope you and your entire family (human and feline alike), have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow!!! This year I’m grateful for my family, our cats, and all of you! Thank you so much for tuning into ‘Breaking Cat News’ week after week. Thank you for your encouragement, your support, and your kind words! It is a delight to create this comic, and check in to see what details folks have found or what people have noticed that *I* missed (yes, that has happened). I hope you have a terrific Thanksgiving, or if you live outside America, a terrific day! Feel free to eat a little extra of your favorite foods tomorrow and think of us here. This is one of Pucky’s very favorite days of the year in America. π
(Ahem. You mean like missing the “k” from ‘Thanksgiving’? )
The robber mice and their feast was a special delight– thank you!
We had Thanksgiving last month in Canada, but I have no trouble finding things to be grateful for again — you and your fabulous strip are on that list.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, from me and mine.
Thank you, Georgia! And I hope you and -all- yours have a wonderful day tomorrow too!
It is sweet, and I think typical of you, that The Robber Mice are included in this strip. Loves: the masks on the clothesline, the ‘Food Groups’ including the baby bottle in the ‘Dairy’ group, and the ‘cranberry space goo’, and especially Elvis being “solely responsible for the baby” and then allowing the baby to pull his ear. π π π
Thanu you, and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too! Around that panel I meant for Pucky’s sleeves to be gathered together in the front, blocking out the design on his sweater, but it may have come out looking differently now that I look at it again, ha!
I totally got that Pucky was cuddling whatever it is that he was cuddling. I didn’t know about the mice, because I usually follow BCN on GoComics. (I’m very disorganized, and it’s easier to keep up with all my comics if they come in a single email. Plus I feel virtuous that I resist the temptation to “read ahead” on BCN. I do come here often to read comments on old strips though, because they’re so much fun.)
Not knowing about the mice, I just assumed Puck had a new toy, like Bucky Katt has Smacky. Of course, Puck would be unabashedly affectionate to something he loved, while Bucky has to pretend to be indifferent, if not contemptuous.
(Incidentally, whenever Elvis is upset and has his ears back, he looks like Bucky’s long-lost twin.)
Yeh I already posted that for some reason the GoComics version did not put in the bottom part of the comic with the Robber Mice Ladies. I think he’s hugging the mouse toy though not one of the RML ™ π
Since the GoComics readers have not seen the robber mice until this strip, I did not want to immediately have any spoilers by revealing the robber mice are ladies in the very same strip–if they choose to only read the GoComics site, many readers there do. That’s why there was only a reveal on this site, where the timeline is a little ahead.
Yeah, I can see his little paws holding the buzzy mouse, but I’d have thought you’d be able to see the design behind his arms (which would also make it easier to make out where his arms actually are π ).
Thank you for the lovely comic, I did want to point out though, that my daily comics email feed from Go Comics did not have the robber mice ladies addendum. They seem to only have sent out the top part of today’s comic. I don’t know if that was intentional or a glitch. When I go into my account they also only seem to have the top portion as well. Just FYI
Thank you, Tana! That was intentional, I made the decision to create two slightly different strips. Since the GoComics readers had not seen the robber mice yet, I felt it would be unfair to introduce them AND reveal that more information about them all in the same strip. I debated whether or not to take them out of the GoComic’s version completely or leave them in, and ultimately left them in, but took out the little “stinger” at the end showing the ladies celebrating around their ribbon table with the dinner rolls, cranberry space goo, and sewing needle sword. Some of the GoComics readers only follow the strip there, and I didn’t want to spoil the story line for them too early!
Thank you, Georgia. When the BCN issues come out seem to be the highlights of my week all year long. Thank you for sharing your family, your art, your talent, and your imagination with all of us.
We do sometimes have it at Christmas, too! Some folks asked about it last year, and I had to include it again. All the jokes are very real: the shape, the density, and most of all the deliciousness. I genuinely adore canned cranberry sauce (as does the Man and the Toddler). The trick is to slide it out in one glorious, can shaped lump! …and then I slice it into respectable circles. It really is quite ridiculous and terribly fun!
Oh, you should have seen the look of horror on Shell’s face the first time I slid the alien space goo out of can and proceded to smush up it trying to make it some semblance of sauce, lol. (I always bought the whole berry version, but she had asked for the space goo.) She educated me on the proper extraction technique. In fact, she has taken this over as “her” contribution to the feast. Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m reminded of the old episode of “Mad About You” where Paul and Jamie were hosting Thanksgiving for the first time, and one of the older relatives was outraged that they had home-made cranberry sauce instead of the canned variety, because “I only like the kind that goes ‘sploosh’!”
Georgia, you should start to open the bottom of the can (just enough so it’s no longer air tight), then turn it over and open the top normally. If you do it this way, it lets in air as the cylinder of jelly slides out. It’ll slide out quite easily so be careful. It’ll surprise you with how fast and easily it does!
I’ve never seen cranberry sauce in a tin here in the UK, though its available in all its gooey glory in jars π I like it with all sorts of poultry and it goes well with lamb and also cheese.
That’s what surprise me too!!! And they’re all in pretty little dresses that I’m guessing have been handsewn by the little mouse with a needle hanging at her side. Makes me wonder if the Woman noticed little scraps of fabric missing too. π
I am thankful that I found BCN! Being owned by several cats myself, I enjoy every strip and often read each one several times just to make sure I haven’t missed anything.
OMG how did I ever miss that. Girl robber mice, how totally amazingly awesome is that. I love how the baby can pull cat ears and get away with it. I hope the other cats of the area are also having a good Thanksgiving, especially Tilly and her Girl.
Wait, the robber mice are ALL female? I had thought maybe one or two of them might be, but it looks like all four wear dresses when they take off their masks.
I like Puck holding buzzy mouse and being thankful for friendships. Also Elvis’ look in the third to last panel, it is hard work being so needed. Happy thanksgiving to you and your whole family, people and cats and favorite toys. π
So the Robber Mice are all girls? Didn’t see that coming! And I LOVE the kid at the cat’s table line! First panel made me think the Toddler was a guest co-anchor until I realized that was a kid’s table. The boys are adorable in their fancy outfits. Somehow I think getting Lupin to comb his hair all nice was a bit of an experience…
Do I spy Lupin wearing pink slippers in the first panel? So cute. And, I’m so in love with Pucky with his sweet little round face. Extra cute that the Man is hand feeding him. Plus, the robber mice stealing the crayons. So many wonderful things to see. Thank you Georgia, you made my Thanksgiving extra happy. May you and your family have a delicious Thanksgiving.
Something to be thankful for: the gift of laughter! ROTFL! and just lovin’ it!
Not to mention the Big Dead Bird β¦ cats admire our hunting abilities almost as much as they admire our can-opening skills.
What are the robber mice going to do with crayons? I can hardly wait to find out β¦
“Cranberry Space Goo”βused to love this stuff until I discovered real cranberry sauce. That is an excellently descriptive name.
awwww <3 is the man fingerfeeding pucky some potatoes?
i love love love seeing the robber meeces unmasked (and i keep wondering if baba mouse means she looks out for them, not attacks them. i think of baba as gramma).
eeee, pucky's favourite whipped cream in a can as part of the dairy! now i can do his little dance <3
elvis full of exhaustion and love <3
lupin grateful for being able to turn invisible.
i think someone should point out to the man that there are *two* cats at the table the people are sitting at, so they may be the ones at the cats' table *g*
i am looking forwrad to seeing if the robber mice leave notes since they stole crayons <3
This year, I’m definitely thankful for BCN. Thank you Georgia for all the wonderful laughs and the massive doses of cuteness. Here’s to an even better 2016 for BCN!
Oh my, this was pawsome. I finally have noticed the mice! !!! The ice are having rolls for Thanksgiving!! Georgia you and your family and the boys are grrr8!!! Since I found this strip I never miss reading it!! Happy Thanksgiving!
I was trying to figure out what it was so thank you for telling us and having Georgia confirm it! The place I get pizza at doesn’t use them but I do recognise it, Lisa, thanks to you. π
I do believe Ms. White Mousketeer is toasting the Chef! Perfect. It’s lovely to start this day out with a long lasting smile. Thank you so much, Georgia.
Awww! So glad you put this one up so early! Happy Thanksgiving Georgia and family and BCN friends! <3
Haha! The robber mouse trying to steal the cranberry! π And I love Lupin's thankfulness for his gift of invisibility and Pucky's sweet admission of being thankful for friendship. Aww!!! So sweet! And Elvis with his badge of loyalty and pride for being the family Protector. Just too cute! Lupin at the kid's table? Yup, more like he's at the cat's table–the man has got that right! π Oh! And the robber mouse family home! Just dying with the utter sweetness of this whole strip! I'm thankful for BCN a thousand times. π
I just noticed that the white mouse in the last panel has a sewing needle on her dress. Do we have a seamstress mouse? I always find something new each time I read the comic. Your attention to detail is fantastic. I posted this earlier but it seems to have gotten lost in the black hole of cyberspace. π
Thank you for BCN. We are a cat family (two Siamese boys) and my son and I love your site.
Reading has been a challenge for my son and your strips are helping him gain confidence. Since he loves cats and finds your comics funny, he looks forward to reading new ones. He reminded me every morning of how many days until the next Halloween installment was due to be posted. The first thing he said this morning was “why is the toddler at the desk?”
Reading BCN is our bedtime activity. The Man (my husband) joking hushes us for laughing too loud.
I love the way your cats personality comes thru in the drawings and so few words. It has been a joy to read the archives.
So on this Thanksgiving, know that a family in Pennsylvania is thankful for you and your art! (and the inspiration for your art, sorry Elvis!)
Thank you so much, Heather! Reading this makes me so happy! I’m delighted the comic can mean so much and assist in reading too, that is awesome!! Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Happy US Thanksgiving to you and yours, Georgia! I’ll be calling my family (in CA) later today, sorry to not be visiting from Canada this year, but one thing I’ll point out to them is your comic, especially today’s edition – as a family of cat people, we’re all fans {g}….
Just a thimblefull of Cranberry Space Goo, but at least 4 rolls. Robber Mice Ladies have quite a feast. Many thanks to you, Georgia. You give us so much to enjoy and be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
The Toddler is left handed and the Baby is right handed? Loved it all Georgia, agree with everyone’s comments, certainly did not see that the Robber Mice were all female, love Buzzy Mouse on the table too. Happy Thanksgiving to all of your family and to all of the Commenters too!
Love, love, love the strip, as ever. You have a tremendous talent and I am thankful that you are so generous in sharing it with us. Favorites: robber mice at home, with the laundry, Pucky and his beloved buzzy mouse, who may also be dressed up for the holiday, the new outfits for all of the kitties, Lupin with his little fur combing, lupin wearing a little vest is adorable, and Elvis going a little more casual without the suspenders, Lupin’s fur looking just like a little boy brought back very happy memories of my baby brother, and of course, Elvis working away to both make dinner and care for the baby. You guys are slave drivers ! what can one cat be expected to do, even if he is a siamese? Since we are calling out small oversights-maybe you forgot to color his lapels in the panel where he is gettting his ear pulled ? They are not the darker brown as in the other panels.
Delightful as always! Say, did the last four panels go up later than the rest? I only ask because at first there were no comments on the robber mice and then suddenly there were many…
LOVE that the four robbers are ladies! Good for them, making their own way, outside of the law, outside of the oppression of the mousey-archy. True rebels! π
Thank you so much for your art! My kids (Pedro and Angela) also love your strip, and ran over when I told them that the today’s strip was up. A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and your whole family! Love that the Toddler is at the table with Lupin — I thought for a minute that he was becoming a reporter. Love that the Baby is “playing” with Elvis. Actually, love the whole strip! Thanks! JoAnn
Like everyone else here, I am very thankful I found you! Someone at TenCats mentioned it once! How fabulous that you make time to answer some of our comments, you have no idea how special itmakes us feel! Have a wonderful day xxx
It’s true, Georgia — not only do you provide us, twice a week, with sweet heart-warming stories full of little details to happily look for but you “make time to answer some of our comments” as SheMc wrote. It really shows that we, your readers, are special to you. Thank you!!!
Happy Thanksgiving Georgia. I am grateful for so many things and always grateful for every BCN strip and to have met you and your family and all the wonderful members of the BCN communityπππ
Oh, thank you Georgia! My friend asked me if I’d seen BCN today – I immediately thought of Lupin being at the kids’ table, but he thought of it as the toddler being a guest anchor!
And is Elvis really that good with the baby? Kudos!
Happy Thanksgiving to my favorite cartoonist of all time! ! As usual I’m a day late and a dollar short. I really love that all the cats are dressed up for dinner. And, really, what WOULD you do without Elvis helping? LOL Seriously, Georgia, I am never disappointed. I’m grateful for a lot of things but the talent you have and are willing to share with all of us is high on my list. I hope your day of gratitude was lovely.
Thank you so much, Kasey! We had a lovely time yesterday, my Mom joined us for dinner and we all enjoyed the MST3K Turkey Day marathon, a tradition for us! Incidentally, all the Toddler would eat yesterday was Cranberry Space Goo. He has a sixth sense when it comes to comedy, it seems. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving too!
A bit off topic, finally did my draw-a-long Pucky picture. Great tutorial, I can’t draw for toffee, but my Pucky is perfect, so proud, my own little Puck.
I love the robber mice stealing the crayons, when my sister was in kindergarten and I was in first grade, I got a new box of crayons because I needed it. She wanted a new box but didn’t need it and when my Mom asked her why she needed a new box she said that her brown crayon was missing. When questioned on why is was missing she said that the brown crayon thief took it. So now 40+ years later, if anything is missing the brown crayon thief took it.
Thanks so much for BCN, it makes mw wish that the week only had Mondays and Thursdays! Keep up the great work!!
I read bcn on my kindle. it’s in black an white so I enjoy reading the comments. could go on the computer but perfer the convenience of my kindle.
Thank you for doing a Thanksgiving bcn. with two little ones and your cats keeping you all busy. though it looks like the cats are actually quite helpful. π
the mice enjoying thier own special dinner was the whip cream on the pumkinpie.
on a personal note I’m grateful that our eleven year old dog is still heathly and celebrating yet another holiday with us. her name is Lily and she is a Hovawart breed of dog.
Dear Lady: Glad Go Comics, through some magic, has caught up but I will continue to go to BCN for my twice weekly fix! Your drawings are pure magic and always lift my spirits when things aren’t doing so well in the shelter infirmary. Please everyone, give good thoughts for three lovely little Siamese cross kittens who came in with a whole bunch of pretty nasty stuff. We are trying our best to make them healthy. Think good thoughts about a pussycat!
Just a thought, as it’s a celebratory time of year, when did the first BCN appear? We could have an annual breaking cat day. Was it sometime around Easter?
The 12th-14th March – official breaking cat news day/s.
A retrospective look at the years events – and a look forward to more floofiness and adventure.
Oh, gosh, the robber mice having their Thanksgiving feastβ¦ that’s the kind of detail that has me so in love with your work, Georgia! May all beings, of how ever many legs, be happy and peaceful!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Georgia! We are thankful for you and your many talents!! <3
Awesome strip as always! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I am so thankful for your comic strip! It always makes me so happy, and this strip is no exception. I hope you and your entire family (human and feline alike), have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Yay! I was hoping some burglar mice would make appearances!
Love how the “burglar mice” are just taking enough to have Thanksgiving dinner too! π
Every-body, -cat, and -mouse is in fancy duds!
Happy Thanksgiving!
This is one of Pucky’s very favorite days of the year in America. π
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!
YES. Yes, like the missing “k” in Thanksgiving (OH MY, How did I do that? Thank you, Karen, I just fixed it!) And thank you so much!
Agreed. They are extremely endearing.
Thank you, Georgia! And I hope you and -all- yours have a wonderful day tomorrow too!
It is sweet, and I think typical of you, that The Robber Mice are included in this strip. Loves: the masks on the clothesline, the ‘Food Groups’ including the baby bottle in the ‘Dairy’ group, and the ‘cranberry space goo’, and especially Elvis being “solely responsible for the baby” and then allowing the baby to pull his ear. π π π
Oh, like how Puck’s sweater seems to be missing something in panel 10?
I love that all the boys are dressed up for dinner.
Thank you for the twice-weekly giggles, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!
Thanu you, and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too! Around that panel I meant for Pucky’s sleeves to be gathered together in the front, blocking out the design on his sweater, but it may have come out looking differently now that I look at it again, ha!

Yeah, I can see his little paws holding the buzzy mouse, but I’d have thought you’d be able to see the design behind his arms (which would also make it easier to make out where his arms actually are π ).
π Are you baking a ham for Puck? Every time I think of ham I imagine Puck’s delight and wildness over it. :p
Today is just turkey, alas, but Christmas will be all about the ham!! π
Ahhh well–Pucky will be through the roof with the smell of baking anyway. π
Thank you for the lovely comic, I did want to point out though, that my daily comics email feed from Go Comics did not have the robber mice ladies addendum. Thank you, Georgia. When the BCN issues come out seem to be the highlights of my week all year long. Thank you for sharing your family, your art, your talent, and your imagination with all of us.
Thank you, so much! <3
So completely cute.
Aww! Robber mice at home! Thank you for another wonderful story.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and all kitties everywhere.
Love the kids at the cats table and the mice feasting with their striped shirts and masked hung up
Happy Thanksgiving Georgia. To you and your family
Eeeeeee kyoot widdle mowsies!
Love Lupin’s pawprint turkey
I love that you showed the robber mice enjoying Thanksgiving too.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. We will be enjoying our feast tomorrow. This will be the kittens first Thanksgiving. Hope they like turkey.
Night shift tonight – 3 am GB time – what a lovely surprise for the new comic to have come up at this time. Very grateful! π
Just a quick question about the cranberry space goo, do you have this at Christmas as well, or is it just Thanksgiving?
We do sometimes have it at Christmas, too! Some folks asked about it last year, and I had to include it again. All the jokes are very real: the shape, the density, and most of all the deliciousness. “Cranberry Space-Goo” indeed. LOL!!

OMG how did I ever miss that. Girl robber mice, how totally amazingly awesome is that. I love how the baby can pull cat ears and get away with it. I hope the other cats of the area are also having a good Thanksgiving, especially Tilly and her Girl.
Did we know the robber mice were girls? (At least, they seem to be girls.) Also, love that Lupin combed his hair! π
Thanks for a great story.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family, and ALL BCN readers!
God bless,
Wait, the robber mice are ALL female? I had thought maybe one or two of them might be, but it looks like all four wear dresses when they take off their masks.
They are indeed!!
The Man is feeding puck potato salad, I believe! Elvis cuddling with the Baby, too adorable. I’m Canadian but Happy Thanksgiving, southern neighbors!
Wait, are the robber mice lady mice?
Yes, they are! π
Happy Thanksgiving, Georgia and family! I’m very thankful for BCN!
I like Puck holding buzzy mouse and being thankful for friendships. Also Elvis’ look in the third to last panel, it is hard work being so needed. Happy thanksgiving to you and your whole family, people and cats and favorite toys. π
Lovely as always- Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I adore the robber mice’s dresses. Does this mean they are all ladies?
It does indeed!! The robber mice are ladies!
Funny. I saw them all wearing dresses, and it didn’t even cross my mind that they are all women. I have interesting friends.
All the robber mices are girls !!!!
The robber mice unmasked !! I love it !! Happy Thanksgiving !!
Fantastic lol I love your Son is at the cats table lol perfect!
Happy thanksgiving to you & your terrific family!!!!!!!
I adored The Borrowers when I was a kid, and the mice are reminding me of them. π
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Thank you for bringing us all so much joy every week.

Happy turkey day! wonderful cartoon as always~
Also, Lupin has a comb over… did not see that coming XD
And, is that a pizza-box stool with the spool stools!
It is!!
I was trying to figure out what it was so thank you for telling us and having Georgia confirm it! The place I get pizza at doesn’t use them but I do recognise it, Lisa, thanks to you. π
I noticed that too!
I do believe Ms. White Mousketeer is toasting the Chef! Perfect. It’s lovely to start this day out with a long lasting smile. Thank you so much, Georgia.
I love everything about this, but Lupin’s combed hair and exhausted Elvis are priceless! And Puck with buzzy mouse… aww. π
Awww! So glad you put this one up so early! Happy Thanksgiving Georgia and family and BCN friends! <3

My son and I like to think she is using it as a sword. Mice need adventure too π
I love that the mice are drinking wine. I suspect they “borrowed” Playmobil wine glasses from some child’s pirate ship set.
Then you might love “The Tale of Despereau”βan excellent story, both the book and the animated version.
Well, the needle is hanging there sort of “sword like”, but then again, somebody’s got to make their little dresses, robber shirts and masks.
And I just noticed the thimble full of cranberry sauce . So much detail to look at.
I am thankful for Breaking Cat News and Georgia Dunn. May the feast be not only on the table, but also in our hearts.
Georgia,
Thank you for BCN. We are a cat family (two Siamese boys) and my son and I love your site.

The mice are like the Borrowers! Love that book!
Awwwwwwww! That’s so precious!π
I didn’t know the Robber Mice were all girls.
Happiest Thanksgiving wishes to you, and your beautiful family. Thank you for all the joy you bring throughout the year!
Happy Thanksgiving! Ear rubs and tiny turkey bites for the kittehs!
Happy Thanksgiving Georgia. I am grateful for so many things and always grateful for every BCN strip and to have met you and your family and all the wonderful members of the BCN communityπππ
Bahahahaha, cranberry space goo! I love it!
Hope everyone at BCN is having/had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! π
I am very amused by the Cranberry Space Goo. Heehee.
Oh, thank you Georgia! My friend asked me if I’d seen BCN today – I immediately thought of Lupin being at the kids’ table, but he thought of it as the toddler being a guest anchor!
And is Elvis really that good with the baby? Kudos!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing your day. Love it!
Love Elvis’ little elbow patches on his jacket! So sweet!
Hope it was a wonderful day for everyone.
Thank you!! We had a lovely day! As relaxing as could be after all the cooking, ha! It was wonderful though, I hope you had a good Thanksgiving too!!
I’m thankful that I’m finally able to see this strip, albeit a day later! Thanks so much for all the delight you bring, Georgia!
Thank you so much, Elayne!!
A bit off topic, finally did my draw-a-long Pucky picture. Great tutorial, I can’t draw for toffee, but my Pucky is perfect, so proud, my own little Puck.
Yay!!! I’m so glad you did, Barbara!
Has anyone else noticed that Elvis’ jacket has leather patches on the elbows? What a great detail!
Nobody can touch Elvis’s tail and I am sure that only the Baby can pull his ears. Elvis really takes his responsibilities seriously.
All the little mice are having Thanksgiving too! Aw! I love you, Georgia!
That is excellent!! May Lily celebrate many more!
“Cranberry Space Goo”, hehehe!
If I’m not mistaken, it was sometime in March of 2014. Either the 12th or the 14th, I think!
Your happy ending for (and unmasking of) the Robber Mice made a an already wonderful episode completely over-the-top with awesomeness!
Nothing says Thanksgiving more than the traditional carving of the dinner roll.
tee hee hee
This is about 2 months late, but Thank You very much for the comic. I love it. You are a wonderful artist, and great storyteller.
Thank you!!
