I am still laughing out loud at every single thing in the strip but my fave is Elvis announcing that the baby has decided he should wear socks! Georgia, you are a genius and your cats are adorable!!!
Thank you!!! I’m super excited that it has already been running for a year (on the 12th, I think!) and a little in happy-shock too! I so, so wish I had a picture of Elvis and the socks, but it was one of those moments when the camera was out of reach. Maybe one day it will repeat itself! Elvis has accepted (with much annoyance and bewilderment) the occasional hug from the Baby. I do have a photo of that somewhere!
Haha!! It’s been in the back of my mind as a possibility… To be honest, I’m not sure, but if I can think of something good I will try and put one together! 🙂
Will there also be a strip of the kats helping make the bed after laundry? all of our cats insist on helping get the mice out of the bed as we put the sheets down.
My cats ALWAYS try to attack the sheets as I’m trying to make the bed. I’ve learned it’s way easier to just make the bed on top of them and let them find their way out than it is to have them attacking on top. At least once I contain them in the sheets I have a minute to get the next layer on.
yes, this is how we made the bed with Carmella. It was always a toss up if she was going to run around under the sheet looking for mice or climb on top of the sheet and help us get the wrinkles out before putting down the next layer.
I am not ashamed to admit that I am a grown woman and I like to play the “How many socks can I pile on the cat before he gets annoyed?” game. My cat is more like Tommy than Elvis, so sometimes I run out of socks before he runs out of patience 🙂
When I lived in the “country” with long-haired cats, they would lay in the dirt driveway and I’d see how many pebbles I could hide in Jack-kitty’s fur before she’d get up and leave. (…about a dozen or so, usually.) 🙂
Yup. That looks about right. I have a picture of Mr Squeak looking up from me out of a basket of laundry I’m pulling a sheet from, as if he’s saying, “What?” “Work around me” would probably fit, too. 🙂
I so love this comic. Thank you again for sharing with us! n__n
15 years ago when our Bat Cat was just a kitten we almost lost him when he decided to “help” when my husband and I were flipping the mattress. Fortunately I noticed that he was there, and then he wasn’t there beside the bed. Really scary … He would not have lasted very long under that very heavy matress. He still has to” help” make any bed in the house.
Work around me is the slogan of all cats! 🙂
It has now become mine too!
It is. It really is.
And yes,… The Baby laying socks across Elvis has actually happened once. (Elvis is very secretly a good, patient boy).
Very secretly. We won’t tell. It would spoil his curmudgeonly reputation. =)
I suspect that warm fluffy socks help a sleepy kitty to be patient. 🙂
PB and J. Sonny and Cher. Cats and warm laundry. Some things just go together. Love it!
My cat, Morgan, didn’t really even care if the clothes were dry yet! 🙂
“Work around me” that is just making me laugh so hard today!
“Work around me” – classic!
ETA: and T-shirt worthy!
Anyone wearing a tie *should* be wearing socks. Just sayin’, Elvis.
Look at the Woman’s serene expression in the last panel. Either she’s zen about her life or she’s taken “Mommy’s Little Helper.”
Nah… she just hasn’t heard the piles of clothes hit the floor yet 🙂
Yep…you just get used to it. Accept it. Lot in life. 🙂 Way things go! Or as Pucky himself would say, ‘Ride the tide!’ LOL
Aww, Elvis has a sweet side after all.
Yep…. “Work around me” is the *cryinglaughing* moment of this strip.
“I fluffed too hard.” I love Puck 🙂
It’s always great to have a few extra helpers when doing the household chores!
“Work around me” FTW.
Especially illustrated with Puck’s placid little face and your (the Woman’s) eternal optimism that this time it will be different 🙂
Love it. I only have the cat and, since I have got her my laundry takes twice as long to fold. She is so much fun.

Thank you, Jan!! 😀
Puck kneading the washcloth and purring <3
I want a “Work around me” tee shut for when I do not want to be interrupted. It is just perfect.
I have a running list of prints/shirts that I NEED to make happen–and I just added “Work Around Me” to it. They WILL happen, I promise!!
Need to get stuff printed on black t-shirts as well, for people like me who don’t do white 🙂
I too would love to buy a “Work Around Me” t-shirt when it’s available.
Yay! 😀
Pucky looks so stricken in the last panel, after having fluffed too hard, I just want to give him a cat-cuddle!
Earlie fluffs too hard, too. And he has a good M!
Oh, Pucky. So sweet. And please tell me you have a picture documenting when the Baby put socks on Elvis!?!?
And congratulations on your 1 year BCN anniversary! I know it is a couple days early but March 2014 – March 2015 works for me.

Do you think you’ll have a BCN year anniversary special? *hint hint*

River thinks under the sheet is a great place to hide and wait for the bedside that will be there later.
She will not be moved. You literally have to put your butt on her lump as if going to sit on her to get her out

“Work around me” – ha! Plus the accompanying visual of Puck in the laundry is so cute.

Really love your boys. So glad I found your comic. Ya ll are the highlights of my week.

Man, I must have a weird cat. He has no interest in laundry at all, clean or unclean.
It’s so cute that all of the boys have different eye colors. Sweet kitties.
I love the cats, they remind me of the cats I had growing up
