“…watered, placed in sunlight, and set up for failure.” Precious! I’m in awe of anyone who can grow plants, I’ve never been able to even letting the cats aside…
My cat loves flowers (sniffing, batting, but not eating) and thoroughly inspected our plants when we got him. Once inspected, he seems to leave them alone.
I don’t dare have plants inside the house, or even cut flowers – the only way they can survive the cats is if they’re very high up on a shelf, and then we can barely see them, so why bother? :->
I have one plant. At my work. I’m pretty sure I’m not allowed to have them at home. Of course, I’m not allowed a lot of things…unescorted visits to the bathroom/shower…unescorted visits to the kitchen…to sleep on the left side of the bed…eat alone without observation…hrm, beginning to feel I require a lot of supervision in my daily life….
Georgia, do the boys know that they are 3 of the most loved cats alive today? *lol* Too, too precious. Thank you for sharing them and their antics with us!
We sometimes try to explain while we are petting them, ha! I think they would be VERY surprised. Lupin would be amused, Puck would be humbled, and Elvis would be irritated–but ultimately enjoy any praise.
Hi, just curious:
Are the kitties keeping their mugs in the center of the table, not that dangerously close enough to the edge? It must be a big temptation while reading the news.
Of the three kitties I’ve had (one past, two present), none have minded African Violets. My brother’s three cats don’t seem to mind them either. Arranging 3-5 in a large pot (or one in a medium pot) makes them heavy enough to keep them from ever being knocked over. π
Great comic, Georgia! Thank you for sharing! =^_^=
I forgot it was Thursday until a friend shared this on Facebook. After scrolling through numerous political brawls and “why can’t we all just get alongs?”, BCN popped up like a beacon of ambrosial light; I threw out my arms and said “Yes, finally, something NICE!” and clicked over here. Whew!
Oh, kitties and plants. Why can’t *they* just get along? Puck tenderly cuddling his plant as he consumes it is so precious, and Elvis, as always, is a connoisieur. And Lupin, oh, what is it about scooting things off of ledges that’s so satisfying? Well, maybe we should all try it. It might be therapeutic.
Thanks for another bright spot in the week, Georgia. Adorable as always.
You could get some Museum Wax and put it on the bottom of the plant pots no cat will be able to move it. Its what we use to hold delicate object to protect them from falling over and breaking during earthquake and cheap too.
Oh my, Puck looking so humble as he accepts his & his fangs so cute. Lupin “I just got here” innocence. and i love that Elvis always has a water glass in hand everytime he throws up; thinking of when he threw up in all of the people’s shoes after you , shudder, bought the different kibble that tasted like betrayl. (one of my all time favorite lines).
My best buddy and 1/2 Siamese, Silk, used to eat rosebuds like human people eat apples. He would take a big chomp out of the tender middle, chew it up and proceed to demolish the entire bud. I couldn’t resist bringing the roses in, but had to leave them in a cheap container, in the sink. So when they got knocked over, there weren’t tears and regrets.
Despite my two feline detructobunnies, I have indeed managed to have plants and even large plants. So guess what happens to the large pots the plants are in? Yes, EXTRA LITTERBOX!! Nothing like getting home to dirt everywhere and that delightful odor that keeps on giving. I love my cats, I love my cats………!
Our kitten is so well behaved, I’m worried if she sees this strip she will learn some bad lessons.
So glad I checked back, Georgia…..needed the smile to face another hot and sultry day in S IN…..the kitties are such a joy. Thanks
Pretty much sums up the last four years of my life.
Oh that was a great one Georgia, it really made me smile – Go Lupin!
Exactly why mom has pared her plant collection down to a select few !
This is why I have zero plants at home and, like, eight at the office. π
Puck’s teeth, Elvis’ tongue, Lupin’s ‘TAP TAP TAP’, lol, just too much adorable naughtiness going on π
Lol! Puck’s expression in panel seven is priceless

I love this comic and love these cats!
One of the great mysteries of the universe; what is it with cats and houseplants?
I suspect it will never be answered, or if it is it will drive us mad.
Is that Elvis drinking water at the end? Love these details. This is the same reason I now have a lovely collection of empty flower pots.
Yes, he is!! π
Not even cacti can make it at the People’s Place!
This is why ALL of our plants are outside and also why I never ask for floral arrangements on birthdays/holidays.
LOLing at “going down and coming back up”. I am SOOOOO glad to have BCN back!
Pucky’s Fangs! Yay!

Fangy Puck Hurrah !!!
So true; you can have cats, or you can have plants, but you can’t have both, at least not at the same time and in the same place!
Lupin tests and proves the Law of Gravity!
I have not even attempted a plant since we’ve gotten my kitten Ripley…
I have lots of cut flowers in the house and none of the 4 cats in residence bother them. Just lucky I guess.
I was enjoying the strip until I saw Elvis in the ninth frame. Then I was laughing out loud too hard to read any more!
I laughed so hard at this!
I like that Lupin drinks tea.

Oh, this made me laugh! Especially after seeing this just a few days ago…

Hahaha!!! I had never thought of that, but it must be!
Oh boys!!!!
I caught my Tibs trying to give roses a bath once..

I dare not let our youngest cat read this.

Best invention: hanging plants.
For some cats, a hanging plant = a piΓ±ata! =^..^=
One for each of us — too perfect!

To most cats plants = salad. Yummy, yummy salad.
