That was Elvis completely missing that it was a rhetorical question, and waiting for someone to suggest something that didn’t involve him having to share quarters with this new “intruder”.
Foster family?? Really? Somebody had to ask??
Elvis will get over it … he puts out a tough-guy image but we all know that deep down he’s just a big ol’ softy.
Just love Tommys shirt and his drink. Perfect for the cold weather blues. Of course the kitten will be fostered there, just look into the people’s eyes. And I think Elvis is on board with the kitten staying.
This will be fun.
A precious, tiny poli-toed (temporary ?) addition to our fave family ! Oh, the feelings and the fun opportunities ! Love the way your ar-toon-istic mind works, Georgia !
Hey ! What about The Man ? I recall that His Excellency appointed himself to the position, but doesn’t poor Ryan get even a mention ? Love the little one, and can’t wait for this to finish unfolding. Tommy does have quite the wardrobe, complete with parka and goggles. Does he downhill, or cross country π ?
No words… I was just having a huge meltdown, sobbing… And burst into hysterical laughter at Elvis’ reaction to joy… Thank you SO much; I really needed that. <3
We have a new little girl joining our family in a few days, another Tuxie. My oldest boy will do an Elvis for a week or so, but the other two will, after the mandatory hissing, be happy to have her. I kind of wanted a white cat to add to the color mix, but then she licked my finger. So we all know where that leads, don’t we.
I started laughing at the first panel, continued to the second, then the third. I go back to that first panel and start laughing again. I’m sure it’s the Tommy factor.
Ummm, I think you’re all misinterpreting Elvis – I think he wants to know about another fostering family so he can get rid of the kitten! “Well, do we?” as in, get another family!!! LOL! He hasn’t had time yet to show his soft side!
While I think Elvis initially wants to get rid of the kitten, I also know he is a serious protector of at least one baby girl human. Maybe that will extend to a baby girl cat. I can easily see him being wrapped around her mini, many-toed paws. π
Georgia says on the About Elvis page that he’s great with kittens. This seems to be an issue more like “Strange cat in MY territory! Get rid of it! Scram! Wait, sick kitten who needs help recovering from cold cold weather? I volunteer for first Snuggle Shift!” Along the lines of our cat Dozer when our kitten Tigger arrived – “SCRAM STRANGE KITTEN!! Oh, you need a mommy? Why didn’t you SAY so?” After which point they were Mother and Son and Heaven help any who crossed HER little boy.
With a motor functioning that well, I think Kitten will be fine. Elvis is so cute wanting to help Kitten and not quite realizing there’s going to be a little houseguest for a while. Glad Georgia’s mentioned that Elvis is a soft touch around kittens, takes some of the worry away!
And this is a strange female. In Tabitha’s house. From her earlier declaration regarding how Tilly needed to be dealt with, this could get interesting…
Puckie on the job! Ready to get his comment for BCN! And who wants to bet that Elvis will become the kitten’s protector and the one who gets the most upset when it’s time for her to go to her ‘forever home’?
Give Elvis a break! I am sure the protectiveness he showed to Baby Gwen will come out again for the little kitten. Lupin is a party boy as well – only Puck is on the job.
Elvis was upset because he didn’t know what will happen to the little girl. I think he wants to take care of her. If he had been against keeping her, his ears would have been laid back. Also he knows what it’s like being outside in the snow. Elvis is a good boy even though he doesn’t like to show it.
Our Siamese wait by the dryer after the chime for “fresh hot laundry”. After reading this one, my son begged me to go “make hot towels” for the kittens. The same kitties warmly enconsed under the covers right now.
We are pulling for Elvis to become Dad Cat to the foster kitten!
I just love LOVE Lupin and Tommy’s expressions in the first panel! They’re so happy to be anchor-cats together! π And poor Elvis, he’s so upset about it. Glad to see the new kitten has a good appetite–that IS always a good sign for anyone who’s been through a trauma. π
“Stop being happy, everything is terrible” is another classic line, like “everything I do is dignified!” I also love that it looks like the CN group is all wearing geometric 1980s sweaters.
Sometime, several years ago folks around here found out that our farm is a foster animal soft touch. The best line we ever had was “So we thought you’d like a different color cat this time.
I think Lupin and Tommy together at the news desk is a little too much for serious reporter Elvis. π I am not quite sure if Elvis wants them to come up with another family to take care of the kitten, or he is waiting for the man and woman to volunteer. I am leaning towards Elvis being glad the kitten was rescued, but not wanting it to stay. I think he will grow to like her and maybe try to teach her about serious journalism.
So cute!!!!!!!!!!
Just like ours!
I might have to switch my avatar from Lupin saying “Guys” in the mysterious lump episode to Elvis saying “Stop being happy”, that’s a fantastic one.
Yup, that needs to be a pin or a mug.
Ooo definitely! I’d buy that! (pin or mug)
Co-signed. Or a t-shirt.
I’d go for that idea too!
Just as people have t-shirts for (let’s say the new game minecraft which has tons of fans t-shirts) what they are fans of that they wear in public.
It’s hardly a new game. It’s been out for 5 years or so.
However, it still is popular due to how much you can do.
I did that on my facebook.
Tommy with the flamingo shirt and fruity drink – love it!
Yes! There was so much in this strip that I didn’t get to mention the sweaters! Tommy wins the prize with his flamingo shirt and pineapple drink!
awwww xoxo love this!
Tommy’s shirt and drink are everything. I need a print of Tommy in the flamingo shirt!
This was great. I always love Elvis’ reactions
SO MANY TOES! And I can’t wait to see the antics in the house with a foster kitten! YAY!
Loving the toes! Bigfoot kitties are the best. Well, all kitties are the best, but I really like the polydactyls.
That’s a big nope from Elvis! Can’t wait to see how this pans out π
I thought of it as a “Yes,” but I can see how it could be interpreted as a nope.
That was Elvis completely missing that it was a rhetorical question, and waiting for someone to suggest something that didn’t involve him having to share quarters with this new “intruder”.
YES WE DO!! I’m loving this series of getting a little girl into family. Future intern?
Ooh, the boys have needed an intern!
I can hardly wait to see how many ways a kitten can make Elvis puff up! I love thisπππ
Love Tommy’s shirt and drink! And can’t wait to get a better look at this new kitty. Finding BCN in my newsfeed always makes me smile. Thank you!
“WELL DO WE?!” Best way to end the comic!
Hmm, we need another cat around too. Got any to share?
HEY!
HEY!! πΈ
HEY!
HEY!
Hey
Love the similarity (intentional, I’m sure) between the Kitten all wrapped up and the Baby.
Thank you so much for happys. We need them now more than ever! This is one of my favorites.
Foster family?? Really? Somebody had to ask??
Elvis will get over it … he puts out a tough-guy image but we all know that deep down he’s just a big ol’ softy.
Tiki Tommy is magnificent. I love the flamingos and palm trees on his sweater and his pineapple drink. That cat knows how to live!
Elvis is all CONSTERNATION! UPROAR! He’s in for a trying time, methinks.
A kitten wrapped up in a toasty, fresh-from-the-dryer towel? Yeah, that’s good livin’ there.
Ohhh goodie, The Kitty gets to stay with all of you. Wonder what The Toddler will name it!! Cuteness overload!!
I wan a kitten too! I have three Elvises – one might be happy though.
Kittens are the best.
Just love Tommys shirt and his drink. Perfect for the cold weather blues. Of course the kitten will be fostered there, just look into the people’s eyes. And I think Elvis is on board with the kitten staying.
This will be fun.
Haha, “Stop being happy, everything is terrible!!”
That panel would make an excellent T-shirt, or coffee mug! Love it.
That would make an excellent anything!
Stop being happy about your idea! Everything is terrible!
(Yes, it would make a very good T-shirt. The sentiment is pure Elvis.)
Tommy is always ready for a party! I also love the cat sweaters π
That cute little kitten sure has a big purr!
Love Elvis’s reaction in the last panel. Perfect, and oh so Elvis!
All so lovely, the kitty knew which window to tap on!!!
YAY! fostering!! (says the lady who’s been doing it for 14 years π )
ooh maybe this is the intern?
TOMMY! Of course Tommy has a flamingo sweater! Why wouldn’t he?
And, oh my god is that kitten adorably sweet.
Tommy’s pineapple drink!!
Stop being happy !!!!
Lol !!
TOESIES! (sorry.)
A precious, tiny poli-toed (temporary ?) addition to our fave family ! Oh, the feelings and the fun opportunities ! Love the way your ar-toon-istic mind works, Georgia !
My, my, my!
YAY!!!
Sometimes, fostering is a failure…it leads the foster family into permanent adoption. (Foster fail; adoption win!)
Oh man.. “hey – hey – hey – hey”…. shades of Hamilton! π
exactly what I thought! I have the Hamilton record on repeat.
Can I just say how much I love Elvis? That crusty exterior just barely manages to hide a heart of gold.
And Tommy must have the most interesting and colorful closet ever!
My goodness! How many toes does that kitten have?!?!?
Yay! I’m so glad she’s staying–and look forward to trying times, at least for Elvis!
yes yes we can foster this kitten!!!

I kind of wanted a white cat to add to the color mix, but then she licked my finger. So we all know where that leads, don’t we.
Cats know. We don’t choose them.
I am sure there is a cat loving family very close by.Listen to Elvis.
Oh purr, what a great strip
I started laughing at the first panel, continued to the second, then the third. I go back to that first panel and start laughing again. I’m sure it’s the Tommy factor.
I just noticed that Elvis covers the mic when he reprimands Lupin and Tommy. He’s such a conscientious reporter.
Ummm, I think you’re all misinterpreting Elvis – I think he wants to know about another fostering family so he can get rid of the kitten! “Well, do we?” as in, get another family!!! LOL! He hasn’t had time yet to show his soft side!
I think Elvis is completely clueless and is asking a straight question. He has no idea that the family being referred to is his own.
I think he just doesn’t understand because the Man and Woman didn’t say anything.
While I think Elvis initially wants to get rid of the kitten, I also know he is a serious protector of at least one baby girl human. Maybe that will extend to a baby girl cat. I can easily see him being wrapped around her mini, many-toed paws. π
Poor Elvis – so eager to find ANOTHER family to foster her, so unaware that he will soon be tightly twined around all those little toesies.
And the kitten is just purrrrrfectly adorable!
Stop Being Happy, Everything Is Terrible! is, well, the best teeshirt slogan ever!
With a motor functioning that well, I think Kitten will be fine. Elvis is so cute wanting to help Kitten and not quite realizing there’s going to be a little houseguest for a while. Glad Georgia’s mentioned that Elvis is a soft touch around kittens, takes some of the worry away!

Cuteness abounds!
Puckie on the job! Ready to get his comment for BCN! And who wants to bet that Elvis will become the kitten’s protector and the one who gets the most upset when it’s time for her to go to her ‘forever home’?
that’s exactly what’s going to happen!
“Well, do we?” LOL! Sorry, Elvis. I think you’re going to have a baby sister – for a while, anyway. Looking forward to seeing them ALL fall in love.
It’s obvious who that family is.
Oh Elvis. Watch out or cupid will get you.
Elvis! Be nice! You were a needy kitten once, too!
Of course.
Give Elvis a break! I am sure the protectiveness he showed to Baby Gwen will come out again for the little kitten. Lupin is a party boy as well – only Puck is on the job.
Where is The Toddler? Also, I really want a Flamingo sweater.
YES! Tommy’s back! I have a feeling this little kitten is going to be a foster fail
Elvis was upset because he didn’t know what will happen to the little girl. I think he wants to take care of her. If he had been against keeping her, his ears would have been laid back. Also he knows what it’s like being outside in the snow. Elvis is a good boy even though he doesn’t like to show it.
Yes Elvis is a good boy, he’ll be fine π
So many feels!
I have a polydactyl kitten and he is so sweet. Love this story line!!
Oh! I hope she will be a regular BCN character! I love Breaking Cat News and all your characters.
OMG, the pineapple drinks, the “hey’s”!!!! “Stop being Happy!” and “Well, do we?”. Oh, the joy!
Elvis covering his microphone so he can yell at the others. Yes, I want that.
Sometime, several years ago folks around here found out that our farm is a foster animal soft touch. The best line we ever had was “So we thought you’d like a different color cat this time.
I am very curious as to what her name is going to be. Something significant hinting at lots of toes.
I suggest Polly.
“Stop being happy, everything is terrible” !! I love it! My new saying. I need a t-shirt
The “Characters” section of the post needs to include “Mystery Kitten” until we get a name.
I vote for “Toby”. That’s the name of one of my polydactyls.
We have TWO very cute kittens and they are only 7/8 months old.
One is very shy (tabby) and one wakes me up sometimes (black).
Yay, a new friend! I can’t wait to see the kitten as an intern for CN!
Elvis, yes we do, but not the one you think
I said an “aww” that went so high I think only dogs would have been able to hear it…
