Our IX Lives Christmas Special Part Twelve
on December 25, 2016
at 12:00 am
Chapter: Our IX Lives
Characters: Angora Taggart, Bandit Chase, Beatrix, Brad, Burt, Captain Nimble, Dr. Mittens, Elvis, Father O'Kittery, Kit Chase, Lord Crabbington, Lupin, Natasha, Paisley Nimble, Princess Taggart, Puck, Rascal Taggart, Rogue Taggart, Rowdy Taggart, Snowball Taggart, Snowbelle Taggart, Sophie, Sweetheart Taggart, Tommy, Trevor
So much and not enough! Paisley is Father McKittery’s and Snowbelle’s (she really is alive!) daughter (hiding from Snowball) as a nun – oh good for them! Invisible Lupin finally makes his appearance, everyone matched up as they should be and and and. Oh my. Happy holidays to all and may all of Georgia’s dreams come true. Which would be the most wonderful thing for her fan base ever.
Oh my cat! This was the best soap opera ever. Beautiful ending. Merry Christmas Georgia and the rest of your family.
Merry Christmas to everyone and it’s great to see the whole crew there celebrating the Season. I love that Sweetheart still has her piece of cake!
Oh my gosh, this was so perfect! Is Puck petting Natasha in the Lupin reveal frame? And “Our” daughter — was that being figurative or literal? Does Cat require a vow of celibacy in his clergy? And what of the third kitten in the picture Princess had? Was s/he just a cousin or something, or will we be hearing back from Viejo Gato? Oh, and did Snowbelle hear that her father was still alive? Perhaps another reunion is in the making! I wonder how Princess will keep Captain Nimble from the Sea’s siren call. Not that I’m hooked or anything.
Oh, and was that scarf Bandit pulled from the Fourth Doctor?
I hope so! π Doctor Who is after all now associated with Christmas Specials. Merry Christmas and Merry Catmas!
Lucky O’Kittery! What a wonderful ending- or, sort of ending, since there are more questions to untangle, or it wouldn’t be a good soap. Thank you, Georgia, for such a great present! And Merry Christmas to you and all your family.
:::sniff::: sniff:::, oh Georgia, that was a wonderful “Our IX Lives”! I did so love the ending! Thank you for sharing that story with us! A very Merry Christmas to you, The Man, The Toddler, The Baby, Lupin, Puck, and Elvis!
Tommy got out his old Tree π
And Sophie is helping him to decorate it! You can hardly tell it’s artificial!
Woke up at 2:30 and could NOT get back to sleep. I decided to sign on and see the conclusion of this story. Happy endings for everyone (except our two villains) even Snowball looks delighted surrounded by grandchildren! Merry, merry Catmas to all and Cat bless us, every one.
Merry Christmas to all the BBC addicts and their feline newscasters. May your New Year be joyous and furry!
You have to make this into a book, and sell it on your website, like the Shelter print.
Oh, my Gouda. This is so wonderful! Now I have to go back through the old episodes to pick up the various clues I missed at the time. You know that’s half the fun!
And a very Merry Christmas to you and your family, Georgia, and to all the wonderful people who enjoy Breaking Cat News each day of the year!
Merry Christmas to Georgia, the Man, and your family (flesh & fur). What a sweet ending to the series. Hugs all around, please!
Thank you Georgia for a wonderful Christmas gift. I loved every bit of it. I will be re-reading it over the next few days. Happy, happy Christmas to you and to your family. See you and your terrific comic strip in the new year. And, a very Merry Christmas to all the posters. Hope it’s the best ever.
The sudden appearance of Invisible Lupin brought a long laugh. And ending the special on the Star of Second Chances was beautiful. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and joyous holiday season to all of you.
Wow, Angora looks just like her mother. Another brilliant series, Georgia. All of your Christmas series are equally magnificent. I hope some day Snowbelle reclaims her fish oil distributor ship and rejoins the girls. Lucky needs to stay in the priesthood, though.
Magic of justice !!!! pawcuffs !! Tears Elvis!!! That old softy.
Tommy and Sophie decorating the traditional traffic cone! Little Bea cuddled up with Trevor ! Pucky petting Natasha ! Could not have asked for a better ending.
Merry Catmass to you all, and to those who are cats, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Joyous Kwanzaa, or what ever it is you celebrate at this time of year.
Best. Soap opera. Ever!
What? He’s Lucky? But… I’M Lucky! Lucky Wing!
Oh well, secret’s out. Guess that means it’s the end! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
Wonderful. Just wonderful. Can’t wait until March! Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all….two-legged, three-legged, and four-legged creatures!!
Super! Wonderful Christmas present! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
Ah, the contrast of the sweet, not-quite-saccharine ending of this story and what is next in store for our characters in _Our IX Lives_ …
Georgia, you are going to have to work hard to top this one! That was brilliant!
Thank you, Gene!!
Thanks for another year of fantastic and heartwarming stories!
Merry Christmas one and all, especially the furry members of our families.
Thank you , Georgia, for this Christmas special.
You’re welcome, Henry!! Merry Christmas!
Georgia, you, with connivance from Ryan, examples from Puck, Elvis, and sometimes-invisible Lupin, along with Toddler and Baby, have given us a wonderful gift these 12 days. I hope the Dunn family’s Christmas is as wonderful as mine has been, or even better.
And do remember, now you’re back in the Northwet, to sing:
“I’m dreaming of a wet Christmas…”
Much joy to you and yours.
Thank you, Denny!! Merry Christmas!
Loved every panel especially little Bea and Trevor snuggled up together and Tommy and Sophie decorating Tommy’s tree. And Invisible Lupin is the best! Merry Christmas Georgia to you and your family!
Notice Father O’Kittery says “Our daughter” But Sister Snowbelle says “my girls”
Loved! π
Thank you so much for the Christmas special, Georgia.
I hope BCN makes it to many, many newspapers in 2017.
Merry Christmas!!
Thank you, Nicki!! Merry Christmas to you too!
Georgia, what an ending! All the loose ends are tied up with Christmas bows. And Lucky the priest and Snowbelle had a kitten together— Princess! Maybe that explains her spunk. Captain Nimble has been reunited with Princess and all4 kittens are together. Kit has been invited to Christmas dinner, Elvis is loving the soap ( although he will never admit it) That little tear he’s wiping away tells the tale! Bravo for another great Christmas story!
Wait… Two cats deeply in love with one another run off to secretly be together — as a priest and a nun? I hope for their sakes they’re Episcopalian or Orthodox, not Catholic.
Oh! I just realized! THAT’S why Snowball and Angora are pure white, but Princess has a little color to her. I’d noticed that a while ago and dismissed it as recessive genes. I shoulda knowed better.
I’ve SO enjoyed this Christmas Special. BCN, even when it was in reruns, has been a welcome distraction the last few months.
*crys* Oh Georgia, I got your book today. This one was lovely. Invis-lupin
Thank you!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Georgia. I enjoyed reading Breaking Cat News. You are awesome.
Thank you!! Merry Christmas and a happy new year’s to you and yours too!
Oh, that is adorable. End the soap here, let everyone be happy. …We know that doesn’t happen…
No one tell Snowball about Princess’s parentage and I’ll be okay with it, though.
The kittens are just PRECIOUS!
OK, now that I know that Lupin was invisible, I went back through the old strips. In part 3 panel one, is that ‘invisible” Lupin next to Elvis, or is it steam from the coffee? In part 6 on the last panel, is that “invisible” Lupin just above Puck’s ears or just just expression lines to emphasize Puck’s shock and surprise. In part 11 panel 2 is that mysterious white spot next to Puck “invisible” Lupin, or just a printing error?
Lupin is running around naked again!
Georgia, thank you. Thank you for this ray of sunshine in my life. This comic is the reason that I thought that having a cat might not be that bad, which is what brought Smores into my life. Thank you. So much.
That’s amazing!! I’m so glad it did, may you and S’mores enjoy many happy years together!!!
We will! Thank you!
What a treat! I love the name of the church! You are a wonderful write Georgia, thanks for everything you gave us throughout the year ‘‘‘!!! X
Smores and her girl: If you think one cat makes life more fun get Smores a partner and see how much more fun two cats can bring you as they usually compliment each other. I am shared by six that get along fine as they are all neutered and the house is big enough that each one has his/her own territory although they share a common XL litter box and a common feeding area.
BTW: with more than one cat, and sharing food/litter areas, they are all vaccinated and not one of them is autistic (a problem many associate with vaccinations)
Ha ha, I’ll be sure to consider it. Smores actually doesn’t get along with other cats to well, they scare her, but i will be sure to see if she gets along with one.
That claim of vaccinations causing autism was debunked years ago.
I made sure to give my cats their own area when giving treats. It helped keep them calmer.
This Christmas special was Jingle Belle Katt approved! Please, Georgia, either package all Christmas specials together in a book or put together all the Our IX Lives episodes in a book! I would buy either and I bet lots of other fans would as well… Still have your first book and page through it from time to time (when I’m not online revisiting the archives)!
I believe what was shown here is that Princess’s real father is Father O’Kittery, but Angora is Snowball’s daughter. So they are really half sisters. Snowbelle is the mother of both.
“The magic of JUSTICE!” And Lupin have watched in invisible mode. Newspapers are cool but what we really need is for BCN and/or Our IX Lives to be made into an animated series. Are you listening Cartoon Network?
YEEEEEEESSSSS
I was thinking about the invisible Lupin, and the question popped up, does Lupin ever “hide” near or in white places and if so, do you and the Man ever act like he has disappeared, like in the these:
http://www.breakingcatnews.com/comic/the-tub-has-a-new-bathmat/
http://www.breakingcatnews.com/comic/lupin-is-invisible-when-hes-in-the-sink/
Yes! This gag began in the comic because we do this when he is in the sink and in the bathtub. π
ohhh i have something in my eye too… *sniffle* So lovely, well done Georgia!!
Came back this morning to read the whole Christmas Special at once.
You, Georgia, are a genius.
Thank you!!! <3 I am so happy you liked it!
!!!!!!!!!!!
A couple of things:
1. I’m glad the little ones still love their Grandfather, even though he’s been a jerk.
2. Is Bandit a “full-figured” lad? Or is he wearing an absorbent vest to counter No-No Spray Bottles?
I’ve loved this run; and I can hardly wait for the new stuff to start up. (More ‘Our IX Lives’ sometime down the road will always be welcome.)
Thank you Georgia for the Special Our IX Lives. What a nice Christmas present.
Hmmm. (1) Snowball says he married Snowbelle after faking her father’s death (part 10). (2) Dr. Mittens and That Guy Brad were planning to keep Snowball captive in their rich guy basement lair, for his savvy business advice (part 5).
Does this mean, in some later episode, we will see Snowbelle’s father rescued from Snowball’s basement lair?
That would be telling. Maybe, Georgia will tell. Maybe, later.
Georgia seems to have a very good understanding of how to string us along cruelly^W^W^W^W^Wsoap operas work.
Georgia, I am so disappointed in the new GoComics website! It is impossible to see any of Breaking Cat News beyond the first panel! The “expand” feature does not work. Other commenters say that the new site is not compatible with Internet Explorer. I don’t want to have to get a new browser just so I can read BCN. I know the strips are reruns, but I love them. Can you plead with GoComics to make your strips available to everyone?
I know this is something they are working on. The Man works in a similar field, and often times until something goes “live” there are certain problems that won’t show up, even in beta testing. This creates an awful Catch 22 for folks who work in tech, because the only way to get a site up to snuff is to make it live, but making it live will for a short time expose all the little things that won’t be caught until that happens. In the Man’s job in the similar field, he carries a lot of these worries home with him when something goes live. He checks in on comments throughout the night and worries until they can correct the things that come to the surface. It’s a very anxious thing. I imagine it like Burt trying to make the station’s site work better, and then having to deal with Elvis, Tabitha, and Baba Mouse all letting him know everything he feared could go wrong is going wrong.
I very much believe they can do this! And I know they care very much. It may take a little time to hammer out, but I urge you and everyone reading this to give them a little patience while they work out the kinks.
This whole christmas special has been breath-taking. Georgia your insight into cats, your humor, and your art are incredible. Now that I have a newspaper subscription again, I’m going to start bugging them to carry your strip.
Thank you, Carol!
Georgia, now that the new format has launched at Go Comics, I can no longer view your entire strip. Today’s episode, “The People Have Abandoned the Children,” is only letting me see the first panel. Even though there’s a link that says “expand,” when I click it, nothing happens. I know every new “improvement” comes with some bugs, but if you have some way of passing this information along to the techie folks at Go Comics, I would appreciate it. It could just be because I have an older computer, but I’m not having problems viewing the other comics. TIA!
Hello Sue Ellen! I know they’ve been getting some feedback on this, and they’re working on addressing some of the bugs. For some reason ‘expand’ does not seem to work with Internet Explorer, but works in Mozilla and Chrome. I know they’re working hard to get it all up to snuff! The Man has worked in a similar field with computers, and some of the trouble is that even with beta testing some bugs ONLY emerge once a new site is “live.” It’s a terrible Catch 22 for people who work in tech, because the only way to begin the process to hammer the site out perfectly is to finally make it live and brace for the worst, and I can’t imagine doing that for an audience of thousands. I’d be so anxious, lol!! I have a hard enough time just getting this one comic to post right. I know they’ve been hurrying to get it all working right, I have every confidence in them. …And I’ve seen the Man come home from his own tech related job when things first go live, and the worries he carries and how he feels reading all the angry comments throughout the night. I’ve been trying to leave a lot of encouraging comments that it will all work out, in case their tech people are peeking in after hours.
Take heart, everyone. The GoComics site is already (from my perspective) easier to use than it was on Monday. It is running previously reveled- in strips until March-which are also available here using the arrows way up top. The new ones will run in a newspaper, too, so if your local paper does not carry it I bet comments in this site will help you find one online that does. Please hang in there, and do not abandon out little community out here.
Thanks. I’m using Safari. I read one of the comments on the Go Comics site that said they could get expand to work in Firefox, so I tried that and it worked for me. I hope they can get if fixed for Safari since that’s where most of my bookmarks are located. BTW, the failure to expand is also affecting Cattitude-Doggone It and @ Tavicat, so the BCN cats aren’t the only ones affected.
Just an update. I think they fixed it! :::knocking wood::: I just tried again a few minutes ago, and I could expand BCN and the other long tall cats. So excited to see the introduction of the barn cats all over again! I would love it if, once the new strips launch, Go Comics would continue to rerun the loop of the “classics” along side the new, newspaper friendly strips the way they are now doing with Garfield and Garfield Classics.
I am so happy it is fixed! Yay!! And that is an excellent idea on the classics, I will pass that on!
Georgia, as to the new GoComics set-up, I miss the comments being under the comic as they were often as much fun as the comic itself. I have a story about how God created ‘Kitten’ that I would like to e-mail you to see if you could illustrate it, but I need your e-mail address or some other way to reach you.
Hello Joseph! I’m so sorry, between taking care of the kiddos during the day and writing the comic at night, I haven’t been able to take on commissions for a couple of years now. I’m very lucky if I can keep up with the comic. I wish there were at least 36 hours in the day!
Joseph, it took me awhile to find them, but the comments are still there. You just have to look for them. There are a whole bunch of icons under the comic strip. Among them is one that looks like a cartoon text balloon. If you click on that, you will see the comments. If there is a way to permanently enable them, I haven’t found it yet.
I wasn’t suggesting a commission, Georgia. The story is called a fable as to how God, in His spare time, created a being which He called “KITTEN”, but it is too long for my computer ignorant mind to load on this site. I’m sure your cat loving fans would enjoy reading it, but how do I get it to you?
Hi, Georgia. I’m new to reading BCN. A new favorite, right up there with 9 Chickweed Lane. I rewound to day 1, back in 2014, and am binging forward. Having to Expand each strip is very annoying. Very annoying. Might you tell the gocomics people that your readers are complaining, and the Expand feature should be removed entirely? There is no good reason to have it. I tried using Feedback, and got nowhere. Mahalo.
In the Church of Cat, celibacy is not required, but spaying and neutering is strongly encouraged!
Jan, be sure to check out
http://www.breakingcatnews.com/comic/local-reporter-seeks-baba-mouse/
to see how Georgia and Baba Mouse have advocated for neutering!
Jan Brown; spaying/neutering automatically leads to celibacy, required or not.
Georgia, please, stop putting your comics on GoComix, or at least duplicate comix here too. For me GoComix had two horible things:
1. After 5 seconds on this site its redirect me into some strange viruses websites!! It’s ok, if it on my computer (antiviruses, adblock etc), but on phone… It’s horrible!!!
2. In GoComix all pictures on png extension! And very hard to download into phone… For me, like for translator, become imposible to translate and handle comics on phone, and now russian community left without BCN since Christmas special. Yes, you can tell me starts to work on computer, but for me it will be mean that I’ll have to spend all day or maybe few days to translate your comic strip and not 30 min after your new part posting…
Please, for us, continue posting BCN here…
I’m sorry, the comic has been syndicated through GoComics for a while now, and the traffic on this site got to a point where I could not keep up. Even when the comic does return, we are going to try and redirect the daily comic page to their page, because I can’t post the strip daily it would be too much for me. I’m not technology inclined, and I have enough errors when I post here as it is.
Marusya, I had a similar experience on the GoComics site. I got a pop up warning that a serious attack had been detected and my IP address was being accessed from multiple different locations. Then it gave me a phone number that was supposed to be for Apple Support. Fortunately, I’m familiar with the real Apple tech support number and immediately suspected it was fake. I quickly took a screen shot of the fake warning then pulled the cable from the computer. One of the reasons I don’t want wi-fi is because it’s so quick to disconnect if something suspicious occurs. Needless to say, I did not call the fake Apple Support number. I cleared my browser cache and history and restarted the computer. I got back online and a little research quickly assured me that this was, as I suspected, a hoax. In some cases this same scam is able to download malware directly to the computer. Fortunately, my firewall held it off. Getting fake warnings was a regular occurrence on another comics website I used to visit so I stopped going to that one, but this is the first time it has happened at GoComics. Unfortunately, I no longer consider GoComics a safe site. I’m thinking perhaps all the work they’ve done to “improve” the site has left open some holes in their security network. I hope that by the time new BCN strips arrive they will have plugged those holes. I’m certainly missing all my other favorite comics from that site. I’m even afraid to go back there to try to find a way to notify them about what happened.
I just need to make clear that the message saying my computer was under attack was a hoax, but the phone number on that message was not a hoax. The hoax is an attempt to scare you into calling the phone number. The phone number leads you into very dangerous territory. If you get that warning and call the number, they will ask to have access to your computer where they will then plant the malware that will cause all sorts of havoc and then they will charge you to remove the very malware that they install.
Please know that those messages and redirects are not the fault of GoComics. They can (and do) come from any site. Use your anti virus software to deep scan your computer and then open the site from a different browser and reset your password.
Sometimes the redirects are hard to shake.

Hi, Georgia,
You were so kind to express your sympathy when I lost Maggie and Ozzie. I just wanted you to know I have adopted litter mates, age 7 months, Gracie Mae West and Thomas Benedict Cumbercat. Chewie is loving it.
That is awesome!!! Yay!!!! I hope all are getting along and that you all enjoy many, many years together!
Hi Georgia! Thanks for introducing me to BCN. I’m a cat lover, though i don’t have one. I appreciate all things cats, cause i know who really rules the world! Met you at the PO today, w/your card loving daughter. You have my email (not my screen name)l, if you are reading comments, perhaps you could reach out to me w/someone who does web sites…
Yay! Hello! It was wonderful to chat with you today! I’m not sure myself, but if any of the readers reading this knows someone who is good with websites, maybe they will make a suggestion?
Say, is there going to be a Valentine’s Day special? It would be cute if someone played a “secret admirer” prank on grumpy ol’ Elvis.
February starts tomorrow, can you say when BCN will resume here and/or on GoComics?
The last week of March, the comic will resume on GoComics! We’re trying to work out a way to connect this page to that site, because the servers we use for this site can’t handle the traffic numbers anymore without slowing down considerably. It’s a good problem to have! I should have more information soon!
I guess the posting times listed here are local to the west coast as it was almost 2:00 am on the morning of the 31st my time when I made the comment above.
In any case, we miss you and the boys.
is something going on?havent seen much in a while.
Hello Georgia! And all BCN followers. Georgia, how is the newspaper syndication going? Will there be any new BCN broadcasts now that we’re into the new year? Are the boys Pats fans? Inquiring minds want to know. All the best…
Well, my face is red indeed! Should have read the above comment from you, Georgia. I am SOOOOOO looking forward to new comix from you! I await the last week of March with great anticipation and “baited breath”(must be that captain’s feast food) See you all soon…
Was there ever a BCN Christmas Carol that I tragically missed reading? Where do the seemingly related coloring pages come from?
Not yet! I may one day to a Dickens inspired special, but these were just for fun!
Georgia: Thank you for running the “Robber Mice” Christmas storyline on GoComics. As you may have guessed I am a Professional Santa Claus(30 years!) and as I tell my “children” at the holidays, we all must try to keep a little bit of the Christmas Spirit in our hearts all year so that Hope, Joy and Happiness will not depart from us. Thank you and the Boys for doing just that. Your comics do bring the gift of Joy and Laughter to us every day! All the best to you and all…
That is awesome, Santa Michael! The Man sometimes has considered becoming a professional Santa one day (should he have the beard and hair for it in the future!) We have a great respect for professional Santas, you bring so many happiness!
Dear Georgia, We loved the story about the Robber Mice giving gifts to everyone! Mom reads your comic to us every day! We think Puck is so brave to hug The Terrible Awful Sucky Machine! Gracie Mae slaps it when it is asleep, but then runs fast! We have Mice too, and Thomas B. caught one, but we don’t think it wanted to play much. We were sad. We love you because you make our Mom smile everyday.
Love to everyone at CN, Stubby Kay, Chewie, Thomas B, & Gracie Mae
I’ll miss this site, but I understand the necessity to move. See you on GoComics.
Hello, Everyone!!
Tomorrow (Friday, February 17th) at noon Pacific time I will be opening up my Etsy shop (link here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GeorgiaDunnStudio ) and offering ten commission spots for a 5×7 inch original watercolor painting of your pets as BCN reporters at a desk! I’ll have some original paintings for sale, too!
Here’s a blog post with all the details! http://www.georgiadunnstudio.com/2017/02/ten-commission-spots-opening-up-and.html
Hope you’re having a great evening!
The Etsy shop is open! https://www.etsy.com/shop/GeorgiaDunnStudio
Today, SophieCat, my loving and devoted partner of 12 years left me.
May our furry little friends keep us strong.
I’m so sorry to hear this, Jeff. π Wishing you lots of comfort and healing today!
Jeff, I too had a Sophie. She passed nearly ten years ago, but I still miss her. I believe there is some special attribute shared by cats with the same name. I am sure your Sophie was an amazing girl. Thoughts and prayers with you.
The Etsy shop is open! https://www.etsy.com/shop/GeorgiaDunnStudio
Otter on a Laptop! Eeeeeeee!
I checked the etsy store . . . couldn’t find the place for commissioning a painting of my own news reporters. Are the commissioned paintings all gone, or am I just “looking with my eyes closed”? If so, I understand . . .
Hello Jessie!
I’m sorry, they are all gone for the moment. I hope to offer more in the future!
So happy to see how well your sale went. As soon as I pay off what I bought I’m starting to save up for the next time!
Also, I can’t wait for the end of March for the dailies to get rolling again. I miss the adventures of our intrepid kitty reporters and their People. Not to mention all their friends.
Just ordered my second mug from zazzle. Had to get the Elvis coal for Christmas card, too. That is going in a frame!
have not been able to find posts strips anything since Christmas. Any suggestions?
I just read on your Twitter feed that we have to wait another month for new content. I thought you were starting in the beginning of March. This hiatus has gone on too long. Seriously. And I know you say it will be worth the wait and all that, but TOO LONG!
I’m sorry you feel that way, Jenna, it was always the end of March as far as I know when I’ve stated it. If I misspoke, I apologize.
I’m not mad, just frustrated! You didn’t misspeak, I misread. But I WANT BREAKING CAT NEWS! That’s not a bad thing, is it? I still love you and the guys. I’m sorry. I won’t make any comments that may be interpreted as anything except adoration from now on. I don’t want you upset. *hugs*
It looks like my comment was deemed not suitable for posting. That’s never happened to me before here on BCN. Have things gotten too big for us little people?
There have not been many comments during the hiatus. I try to check 1-3 times a week to see if any new ones have popped up. Usually there aren’t any new ones. Tech stuff is just not my strong point, I’m sorry if there was a delay this time.
Georgia,
Thank you for the 3-1-17 Go Comics strip.
Of the ten cats I have had, eight were recues, one bought at a pet store because she needed to be rescued from the terrible conditions. Rescue cats are the most wonderful. They are grateful and loving. Some have problems that only love and time can cure, but worth the time.
Carolyn
You’re welcome, Carolyn! Puck and Lupin are rescues, and I have to agree!
I can’t wait for the new strips! I love the ‘classic’ ones (especially the Tillie/Freddie run, and the rescue of Beatrix) but I miss the boys and crew. We’re getting closer every day…
I’ve given several BCN books to fam&friends and they all love them. Not to pile more on you….. but….. are there plans for another? My crowd still likes books (they hold body heat and smell like the past).
I have not heard anything on that front myself, but I hope so too!
One month to go! Yea!
YAY!! I cannot WAIT!
My fiancee and I enjoy your comics greatly, and while we are still in the beginning I wanted to comment on the latest and tell you how much we enjoy them, they are great to read together while cuddling in bed π
Earlier in the comments section, it was mentioned that there was a Christmas episode starring the mice. Is there anyway to get that episode?
It starts here, http://www.breakingcatnews.com/comic/puckys-purrfect-christmas-tips-part-one/. FYI if you click on the names below the comic it will take you to a page were you can find all the strips that character has been in. After you read the Chistmas special you might want to look up last summer’s special that featured the mice if you haven’t read that yet.
Just saw the calendar on Amazon! OMC! Yes. Must have one. Folks, it’s available on preorder at Amazon and it is adorable.
I preordered my Breaking Cat News Calendar today. I am so happy to see that it has a painting of the whole gang for September-December of 2017 so I won’t have to wait until 2018 to start using it. It will be like Christmas in July! Thank you, Georgia!
I am SO GLAD I checked back here at the comments, because I wouldn’t have known that there will be a Calendar!! I am so excited! I have a list of people that I want to send them to. π I recently contacted GoComics/Andrews McMeel (sp?) begging them for another BCN book, so I hope they will get that going sometime soon. Cannot wait for new dailies, but I still get my fix with the archives. There is always something new to see. Hope you are having a great week!
Likewise, I wouldn’t even have looked for a calendar, without re-reading some comments! Thank you!
Georgia, please consider adding (robber) mouse pads to your Zazzle merchandise. I refuse to replace my worn out one until I can get one (okay, 3 or 4) of the BCN crew.
That is a great idea!! If I get a chance, I will!
Tommy (or really any of ’em, I just like Tommy) splayed on his back so you’re scratching his belly with the mouse would be cool as heck….. Robber Mouse mouse-covers to go with!
Dear Georgia:
I’m so excited I can hardly wait until your comic debuts in the San Antonio (Texas) ‘Express-News’. That event is scheduled for March 27th, as was announced in the paper this week! I stumbled across your strip and fell in love with it and ‘the boys’. We are down to one cat, Maxx age 14, whom we address as ‘Your Royal Highness’ and for whom my wife and I are staff.
Hello Jim! I’m so excited myself, I cannot wait! It feels a bit like waiting for Christmas! I have to ask with the two x’s… Was Maxx named after The Maxx? That’s one of my favorite comics of all time, I love Sam Kieth! Either way, thank you for reading and for taking the time to leave me some kind words!
I just recently started reading BCN and I must say that in the few hours it took me to read through the archives I fell in love with the characters. I particularly loved the ghost in the house arc and the Christmas arcs. I was just curious, the last comic shown on this website is from December 25, 2016, and it is nearing April of 2017 I was just wondering if and when the BCN website was going to be updated?
Best Wishes for you and your fur-bearing companions
Hello! I’m thrilled you like the comic, thank you! Next Monday–March 27th–it will be launching in newspapers around the country. There will be new, daily strips in newspapers and on GoComics, and we’re working on creating a link here to connect the daily comic to GoComics. So,… Very soon!
Yay!!!! *happy jig* I can’t wait! π
Really enjoying Our IX Lives! Have you considered a Real House Cat story line? A take off on the Real Housewives would be a hoot!
That is an EXCELLENT idea!! Maybe one day! (Also, I would totally watch that, lol!)
Do it ! Real housecats of Redmond! Or Providence ! Or where ever. What a great idea.
Yayyyyy!!!! BCN in papers ! The boys are getting the attention they dΓ¨serve and you are getting some long overdue recognition and financial reward. I can’t comment on the other sites as I do not have facebook, twitter (why do birds get their own website anyway ?) etc., but wanted to add my voice to the many and tell you how much the site and this little community mean to me, and how happy I am at your success. Please do not fret over any perceived loss of community since we are all still here, and growing larger by the day. With broader exposure we may all see the occasional snide remark, but we all have sense enough to ignore the nastiness and embrace the warmth, poignancy and humor that is Breaking Cat News. In all seriousness, you have a very special set of skills and I am grateful that you share this this excellent, free content. I fear that most of my friends, acquaintances and even some perfect strangers are getting BCN calendars to put with the book, prints, and greeting cards I have already foisted upon them…Sometimes BCN is the only bright spot in my day.
Thank you so much, Martha!! Your kind words continue to make my day, they are so appreciated!
I checked in with this discussion today and read that there is a 2018 calendar. I immediately went on Amazon and ordered three. It’s great news and gives me a uplift. A few days ago one of my cats ran out. A friend is taking care of them and me because I have some mobility issues (can’t walk without pain). Anyway, she didn’t close the door properly and two cats got out. One was easily retrievable but the other not at all. She’s a former feral and has been living with me for almost three years. However, she still has feral tendencies. I am helpless in trying to find her so depending on others. I afraid she won’t come back. Two traps are being set up. Please everyone, wish me good luck in getting back my Torrie. She’s a beautiful semi long hair tortie and I love her.
Oh, no!! I hope she is found soon Linda, I’m so sorry!
Pls do more BCN I don’t want you stop them! There so good and it makes me tell happy when I read them. π

=^+^=
Hello! The comic will be launching in newspapers this Monday! π We will be creating a link here to read it on GoComics, but the troubles explained in one of the emails this summer have continued–this site is very slow when new comics post due to the traffic. GoComics has more servers and can handle the traffic.
Plz don’t stop making these comics! There so cute and fun to readπ
