We now return to Our IX Lives!

Chapter: Our IX Lives
Characters: Angora Taggart, Brad, Burt, Captain Nimble, Dr. Mittens, Elvis, Kit Chase, Natasha, Princess Taggart, Puck, Snowball Taggart, Sweetheart Taggart, Violet
Great, you got me addicted to a cat soap opera that doesn’t even exist! What did I do to deserve that? *sad music*
Same! XD
I was already waiting when we’d find more about it, especially after the cliffhanger with Captain Nimble getting a letter through to Princess!
I’m especially invested in the story of Princess and Captain Nimble. In the first strip I thought he was lost at sea, leaving Princess and their kitten behind. But now it looks more like the entire family lived on a ship which was lost at sea and they got separated. Nimbles and three of their kittens were stranded on a deserted island maybe, while Princess and one kitten were rescued and brought back to civilization. Princess must not only have thought that Captain Nimbles was dead, but her other kittens too, which makes the entire story even more tragic! At least that’s what I’m getting from the hints of their history we have seen so far.
OK, now I’m addicted to a soap opera that isn’t real. Few comics have that power, but BCN is definitely one of them.
Burt agrees with Puck.
Today is the 200th strip!!! Can you believe it? And today is also the first day that this site and the GoComics site are synced up! We did it! If you get a chance, please take a moment today to say hi to each other in the comments sections!
I already have had folks ask here and elsewhere why the GoComics site posted this strip first. Honestly, this site was not going to post to this strip until the morning, but I was up with Baby and now she’s back to sleep and here I am posting the strip at 2:02 am by coincidence. …I can’t do this every night, and I know a lot of you totally understand that, but I’ll explain how things work behind the scenes for those that asked or are wondering.
The GoComics strips post around midnight, automatically, through their system. I post the strips here myself, after manually updating the subscription lists. Then I email the notifications out after copying and pasting the link, etc. This is a lot to do around midnight for a mother of a 1 and 3 year old. Most days, GoComics will post first, because this site is updated by one person, me. You may be thinking, “Georgia, why don’t you set the comic to update automatically here?” and I’ll gently reply, “because I am no good with computers and they make me crazy.”
Also–and this is a wonderful problem to have, but–I can’t keep up. The subscription numbers are about to surpass my notification service and the servers often crash right after a strip is posted here (this is why sometimes right after a notification email the page does not load). One reason why I wanted to sync the site to GoComics is because they can support the amount of traffic the comic is getting now. This gives everyone here a back up if the page is not loading. And if you want to see the comic right away, around midnight central time, that is possible now! These are good things, wonderful things. I feel incredibly fortunate that GoComics loves ‘Breaking Cat News’ the way it does. They’ve given us a site with a fantastic subscription system, great servers–they published a BCN book… They have been amazing.
I love our community here, and I feel so blessed that we have the comments, commentators and threads that we have on these pages. I’ve always been honest that this site is a Mom & Pop type set up. No one posts these for me here, it is actually me sitting at my desk at home hitting the “publish” button. I have no tech support and I am terrible with computers. So many of you have been wonderfully patient while I hammered out why subscriptions were not working or posts were blank. I am really happy to have the GoComics site as an option now, because I know that they have people who understand this stuff and can publish the comic properly every time.
OH MY CAT IT IS 2:24 AM… Okay, I’m off to bed–(no joke, Elvis is curled in a tight angry ball at my side, waiting for me). This may have many typos because it is so late, but basically… This site is run by me, and many times I will be posting the comic when I can in the morning. I have to give the kids and cats breakfast, and usually I have a moment when Baby takes her morning nap. That’s why the comic goes up around 10 am pacific time a lot right now. However, from now on, the comic will be up on GoComics just after midnight central time AND THAT IS AWESOME!!! Please, never, ever feel like you are cheating on this site by taking a peek over there! In fact, it REALLY helps me! The more people who visit the GoComics site, the more likely they will keep BCN there, hopefully offer other books, etc. I haven’t mentioned it yet, but they just offered a calendar for 2018! The more people who visit that site, the more opportunities for the comic.
“Georgia, are you letting GoComics post first in the hopes of driving the numbers up there?” No, I don’t think I have to argue very hard that when midnight rolls around, I want and deserve to be in bed sleeping. It’s a long day with two small children, and I spend my evenings working hard on the comic. However, truthfully, I really hope that it does get people over to the GoComics site, because that helps me a lot and I’ll be honest about that. It’s a win/win. There’s a way to see the comic earlier that helps out our family, and this site will still be here in the morning!
It’s 2:32, Elvis is going to have a fit. Okay! Until tomorrow morning! Please forgive me if this comment is a bit rambling, and I hope you enjoy the 200th strip!!!
I loved it. With a doomed love crushed by the disappointment of my cat that I chose to read this before giving him a treat *over dramatic music*. Congratulations on getting to 200. Here’s to the next few thousand (whenever you can do them – family comes first) xxx
Georgia, I just wanted to say that I have never worried if the strip posted early or late (or when the strip went on vacation for a bit). To me whenever this strip posts it is like a blessing, and who am I to complain about a blessing? If it makes your life easier to have me read the strip at Go Comics, that is the least I can do in return for all the blessings you have given me. Thanks for all your hard work (now get some rest while you can! π
Congratulations. I have a paid Go Comics subscription so I get Breaking Cat News in my daily email (the minute you went there, I added it to my feed.) It’s a great strip and I’m so glad that the problems you’re having are “too many people.” Isn’t that a lovely problem to have (even if it’s a pain in the keester?)
I was thrilled when Go Comics picked up the strip! Was fun to reread all the previous BCN strips as things caught up. Keep up the great work!
Completely understand! Computers are rarely my friend…you should see how long it takes me to sync up my computer and my printer. I had to post a “cheat sheet” so I wouldn’t feel inclined to tear out my hair!
Happy 200th! Thank you for all your hard work, the laughs, tears, and good feels. πΈ
I am already on gocomics, but I know I will have a hard time checking them first… I just love the ambiance here and the commenters are all so sweet and supportive! Plus it is so nice to see that I have an email from “Beatrix” and I know my day is going to be a little brighter. It feels so much more personal to get that email, no matter what time of day.
Will definitely give the Breaking Cats News page on gocomics a view after i have received notification here, if that helps with numbers over there. We definitely want to see more books published and a calendar! How exciting!
And congrats on the success of this sweet comic. I love that my whole family can read it… Not many comics these days that I can let my kids look at with me instead of me having to preview the content first.
I’ve been a subscriber with GoComics for too many years to remember. The moment I saw BCN was on there I immediately added it to my daily email, and throughly enjoyed reading it in both places. I’m also not awake in the middle of the night, so I love seeing both emails in my inbox when I get to them. Still working on getting more friends to this. I am also addicted to Our IX Lives. I’ll thow in that I work in IT but I’m also terrible at updating my sewing blog. I’m trying for once-a-month at the moment – and failing. Family definately comes first. π
Too bad Beatrix is employed at the book store. You really need an intern. Congrats on your 200th opus of BCN. Each new creation is a work of art by a gifted artist.
I’m so looking forward to the calendar! I love calendars. I’ll be first in line for the preorder.
Georgia, congratulations on the 200th strip and on the tremendous growth of BCN. I can only imagine it will continue to grow thanks to your amazing talent.
And if you ever have computer questions, don’t hesitate to ask. π
Re: “OH MY CAT IT IS 2:24 AM”
Considering that you are polyfelinic, what exactly doyou mean by this?
Wow. It took Al Capp years to do what you’ve already done. You’ve got a successful comic strip WITHIN a comic strip! Hope to see more of both!
Although…shouldn’t the doctor’s name be Dr. Kilmouse maybe? π Or if you don’t want to scare the robber mouse gang, Dr. Kilpatient?
Kilmouse, Kilpatient….what a hoot. I wonder how many readers are old enough to catch the reference. On the other hand, Kil-patient? might not inspire confidence all that much.
If you are trying to create a variation of Dr. Kildare (Richard Chamberlain, SIGH!) , my vote is for Dr. Kilpounce or maybe Dr. Kilpaws.
How about Ben Kitty?
It is lovely to see that the universal television lanugage of the telenovela applies also to cats.
Thank you, Georgia, for the 200 strips. They have made my life a little sweeter, my vision a little brighter.
Hilarious! I love Natasha pressing up to tv screen saying ” We’ll get through this, Kit!”. I love “Our 9 Lives” almost as much as Puck does, insipid though it might be!
I love this strip in particular and the whole comic in general! The sync with GoComics is very exciting. I’m in the UK so I never know what time it is in the USA anyway, I generally get alerted by Twitter that there’s a new comic.
Congratulations on 200 strips of fantastic art work and brilliant story telling. Needless to say, we are all looking forward the next 200.
I just randomly check in on Mondays and Thursdays until a new strip appears – I’m still not sure how UK time relates to Californian time (though its Busy Mum time that I really have no idea about π ). I’m sure we all totally understand why its a bit random, though I’ll try to check on go comics now to give a little more support to you over there!
Jim — California time is 8 hours behind UK time. The switch to/from Summer Time (as you call it) is slightly different, but that’s the best answer.
Could this have been any more hilarious? Are you a genius or what? Ma’am, you continue to add a little sunshine whenever you hit that send key. Muchisimas gracias por todo y suerte para ti y toda tu familia.
I would never had guessed Puck liked soaps. Funny! I guess Lupin would like all comedy shows. He seems like a Mork and Mindy kind of guy. Elvis… Not to sure. What do you think?
I’d guess Elvis would probably be a fan of documentaries and news programs. He’s probably a huge fan of the History Channel, Animal Planet, and CNN.
I will continue to keep BCN in my GoComics list to give you all the support I can. Being the night owl that I am, I usually see those comics shortly after midnight CT when they post. I will also check this site daily for all the wonderful fan comments which add so much to my enjoyment of the strip.
Congrats on 200- we know it is just the beginning.
Yesterday evening, some young idiot in a souped up truck tboned my car, totaling it and sending me to the ER with busted up ribs, bruised chest and wrist now splinted. So the snorting, giggling noises I made when I read this had to be restrained. But inside? I was full out belly laughing. ‘Amateur mandolin player’? Hahaha! So great that Puck defends the soap from a cynical Elvis. Well done as always and congrats on the 200th strip!
Thank you, Christina! And I’m sorry to hear about your car accident and your injuries! π
I wonder why only Sweetheart of the kittens ended up with Princess. Were the others on an outing with the Captain when his ship supposedly went down? Or, why am I pondering the minute details of a character in a soap opera within a comic at 4:45am?
First off, CONGRATS FOR THE 200TH STRIP! Yay!!! π Secondly, I love LOVE that the gocomics site and the BCN home page are now in sync and I can read it first thing when I get into work in the morning whilst having my cup of coffee (on Mondays and Thursdays). Thirdly, I WANT A BCN CALENDAR! Woohoo! *happy jig* And last but not least, it totally made my day to get to read the newest comic this morning. I just love Our IX Lives! π
Oh my cat!! I’m addicted to BCN, and now a kitty soap opera!! Meow!! Love this comic strip since the day I found it!! Georgia, it just makes my day to not only read the comic, but also the comments and more so that you share so much of us. Thank you all the time you out into taking care of your family, and all of us, your extended family!! Pawsome!!
I think a “Dr. Catatonic” needs to join the cast–perhaps a sleep disorder specialist that helps cats get back to sleeping more than 20 hours a day? He could carry a large pocket watch that he waves in front of the cat saying ‘you are getting sleepy’ but ends up falling asleep himself? And prescribes catnip for ‘relaxation therapy’… Oh, and don’t EVER apologize for posting late–you work hard for your family–that’s reason enough to have most getting their ‘fix’ at the Go Comics site! (I go there every day for my 20 or so favorites that I follow…)
What a wonderful way to wake up!
So many little details, I will read this over and over.
Georgia, you are truly amazing
A big CONCATULATIONS on your 200th strip *and* on your success on GoComics! I’m so glad you’re getting the accolades and recognition that you so richly deserve.
I generally read each strip 2 or 3 times so it won’t be a problem to make sure one of those is at go comics. Love Our IX Lives!!
It must be a broken heart. It’s never lupus. Dr. Gregory Housecat needs to come in and motivate Mr. Taggart.
I love the idea of a Dr Gregory Housecat, he’d soon sort Father Taggert out – oh yes he would !!! By the way Taggert always reminds me of the Scottish detective – probably no relation
Happy 200th and wishing you many more π !!!
Yayyy!!! Another episode of My 9 Lives! So. Much. Awesome.
Georgia I know this will be a longshot but I still think that you should make a BCN Bowling Ball! It would be pretty cool!
That’d have to be decorated with a picture of Baba Mouse.
Dr. Honeycatt may make an appearance? (A shout out to the 70’s MASH series). Love the strip. Actually my day doesn’t start unti I read what Lupin, Puck and Beatrice are up to.
Sleep, may you get lots of good sleep.
Wow Georgia…200 strips! Congrats. Hopefully the sync will bring you many more followers… ans perhaps some help… you can’t do everything everything yourself, dear.
Congratulations on number 200, that is awesome. You deserve a great deal of credit putting out such a great strip by yourself. The attention to detail you give the strip is one of the many reasons it is so great.
Whenever it gets posted I am happy. π»
Georgia, I subscribe to Go Comics and have my choices sent to me by email. I would think that means you get credit for a fan. However, if you would prefer I go read it on that website rather than this one, please let me know. Whatever is best for BCN.
Is Snowball Taggart Faking??
Will Kit outsmart Brad to win Angoras heart??
Is Dr. Mittens related to Puck??
Will there ever be another cat to join the BCN crew in real life???
Stay tuned for another 200 episodes of Breakingcatnews!!!
*** Greetings to everyone around the world from Daytona Beach, Florida!
I enjoy reading every time it comes up even as we decide what to do with my friends cats here… ( they went outside to play now…) Thank you Georgia for drawing many great cartoons and inspiring so many people in your lives..
I just now realized… 200 comics and NOT one article featuring
Fish or a fish tank..
Im sure, we’re all wondering if the BCN crew will
play ( holds back laughter ) nicely in front of the fish tank or
Will they be their usual selves???
I can see Lupin wanting to dive in, puck would swat at the water, and Elvis would be poofy, screaming at the fish…
Oh, don’t worry! It’s coming… π
Wow, Georgia, your life right now reminds me of one of those old acts where the performer has to keep all the plates spinning on sticks. If you need a break from the strip every now and then, please don’t hesitate to take one; we fans will totally understand. Your family and your health must always take precedence over your work.
Epic. Simply epic.
Congratulations Georgia and thank you for sharing these wonderful characters with us!
Georgia,
Can those of us who are tech literate help in any way?
I too would much rather you were in bed at midnight and free to work on your comics rather than being your own tech support
Does anyone know the plot of “Our IX Lives”? I seem to be a bit behind.
Ok, Jennith, here is a capsule summary. Our hero Kit Chase is an impoverished but dashing alley cat/adventurer who pines for Angora Taggart. Snowball Taggart is the richest cat in town, and father of Angora and Princess. Princess ran off with a captains cat who was lost at sea but is now apparently shipwrecked, and she returned, wrapped in a fishnet, with a kitten. When last we saw them, all four were all having dinner and Princess was arguing with her father, Snowball. Snowball faked a heart attack and took kitty treats, saying those were his heart pills. Apparently they all rushed to the hospital, which is why the ladies are still wearing their dinner gowns and the kitten is up past her bedtime (what conscious cat is NOT ?). Kit climbed the balcony and pleaded with Angora to run away with him, to live the stray life. He also delivered a letter “from the sea” and we learned he and his brother are friends of the now shipwrecked sea cat.
Wow!!! Yes, that’s it! π
Thank you, Martha! Classic telenovela (or soap opera, if you prefer). I would NEVER have figured that out on my own.
OK, confession time – in my morning list of sites to check, I actually always visit both here and GoComics just in case I might have missed something. I love this strip…it’s a wonderful bright spot in the mornings. Here’s to many more!
Congratulations Georgia on this site, the Gocomics syndication, the book, and keeping it all together for your kids and your cats! You’re a very talented lady, with a lot of people cheering for you! I hope you can take a nap with your little ones today. π
Ch ch ch changes π
I thought I was totally in love with Lupin, but… Dr. Mittens!! Too cuuuuute for words! Me-ow am I ever hooked on “Our IX Lives” and BCN!
My human says your talent totally rocks Georgia and I wholeheartedly agree – congratulations on all of your successes!
PS How do I get my photo to show up next to my post? I want to show Lupin (and Dr. Mittens) that I’m not just any cat…
When you comment, next to the box for your email, there’s a green link “Get a Gravatar”–that’s where you do it.
(please don’t ask why I haven’t–I really don’t know)
Awesome strip! The hospital slippers are hilariously accurate.
Georgia, Thank you for bringing joy to us over 200 times. That’s because I read them more than once and have read the book twice. You are so talented and amazing. I will order the calendar too.
Family & your health first Georgia!!! We love you and understand there are not enough hours in the day to do everything. Perhaps instead of everyone subscribing for notifications, everyone could just all check in until it appears. that is the way i do it, i think it’s more fun to suddenly find it there. you could still have people subscribe to keep track of your fan base, but just for special announcements, info about the Etsy shop, etc.
200th strip is amaaazing! Congratulations!
Since BCN started on GoComics have been reading the strip at least twice, once here, once there. One thing I’ve noticed is that commenters on GoComics have become nicer when commenting on BCN, approaching the quality of commenters here. That’s quite a miracle!
So anyhow, keep up the good strip and rest when you can. BCN keeps the two Texans here happy!!
“Our Nine Lives” is the only “soap” I will ever watchβand I love it, especially the viewers’ reactions.
Georgia, you already know what I think of your work and your stature as a cartoonist. Congratulations on reaching 200, and here’s to the next 2000!
As for when and where they get posted, my attitude is “any time, any where.” BCN posts, whether a new strip or reader post notifications get read as they occur, and always brighten my day. They have their own mailbox on my computer, so I can ignore everything else and go straight to the important stuff. ;oD
Hurrah! One of the reasons I never got into soaps is I could never keep everybody straight, and I’m one of those compulsives that have to start at the beginning of anything. Well I have that now, and I’m still confused! But that means I get to read the comic over and over and it is still new! (see the advantage of having short term memory loss:) You and your family are amazing Georgia and congratulations from one of your (er, hem!) elder fans:)
so much to love in this! i think the robber mouse hugging the TV is just the my favourite. Congratulations on the 200th strip of amazingness!
Did you see the crab on top of the captains hat! LOL! LOVE BCN!
Brava, Georgia, for jobs well-done! Congrats for the sync and the 200th strip–and thank you for all the time you spend doing your site. My hubby and I have been running a home-based internet business since 1997, so I can identify with your challenges. Know that you have a legion of fans who support your work and appreciate all that you do! We’ll ALL “get through this, Kit!”
Does Elvis have a package of Cheese Ball Yummy Nom Nom Kitty Treats? I remember there being speculation in the comments that Princess might have other kittens. They are SO cute! Burt was left off the cast list?! Burt introduced us to “Our IX Lives”! π I’m not really complaining. I just figured you would want to know so this strip will be listed with the Burt strips whenever someone clicks on his name.
Oops!! Thank you, that was just an error. Adding Burt now!
Re: soap operas that don’t exist. Phil Foglio’s early “Buck Godot at the Gallimaufrey” webcomic (he’s better known nowadays for “Girl Genius”) is interspersed with a soap opera for aliens, running along the bottom margins usually. (Update: it’s currently offline, or I would provide a link.)
Example:
“My eggs! You ate my EGGS?!”
“Oh, sorry. I thought you ordered the waffles.”
(Sending you a virtual dozen red roses in thanks for your wonderful work)
HELLO to everyone on this side!
Georgia, I am delighted that GoComics has syndicated BCN. I think it’s an advantage to have access in more than one space. Do what you need to. We’re here, waiting and enjoying.
Congratulations on your 200th strip. May you have 2000 more. And it figures that Elvis would be the Grumpy Cat regarding the soap opera.
Congratulations, Georgia! I’ve always read the strip here, and I love the little extras, like the list of characters at the bottom. I love the community here, and the astute comments of sharp-eyed fans have helped me to spot delightful details I may have missed. But now that I know it helps drive your numbers up on GoComics, I will make a point to read the strip there AS WELL, with my ad blocker turned off. I always read each strip several times to savor all the details anyway! Thank you for your lovely work!
Thank you, Judy!! π
Schnarf, that “Get a Gravatar” link on the EMAIL line of the section where you write your comments takes you to a WordPress related site that hosts avatar pictures for use in quite a few sites (blogs, comics, etc.) You’ll need a picture to upload to them, a Google or Bing image search for “avatars” or “forum avatars” should give you a ridiculously huge selection. Just click on one you like, then do the right-mouse-button click on the picture, and select “Save image as” and save the image file to someplace on your computer (WHERE YOU CAN FIND IT AGAIN! [you’d be surprised how many times that one trips-up even seasoned nerds!]) Or, if you know any computer-savvy types, they can help you make your own, even from a save BCN comic. I’m working on one of Puck’s “Stop being happy! Everything is terrible forever!” rant myself.
Ohhhh, an extra long strip, to celebrate with and savor. LOVE the little totes type non skid slippers, the paw print hospital bed (of course it would be-you always think of everything), the wavy “fur” of the handsome business partner, Brad, the pointy ears under the surgical cap of the disguised Kit, and every other adorable detail (the crab on the hat and the little darts for the cat ears in the surgical cap, just to name two).
Congratulations on strip 200, which has brought me at least 20000 strips worth of joy. Stop fretting about posting times and ignore those who fuss about it. This is exceptional and free content, and I am grateful for it, whenever it arrives and in whatever format. Part of the fun is logging in to see what awaits me on Monday and Thursday-sort of like a birthday plus Christmas twice a week. Some days it is the only thing I can look forward to and motivates me out of bed. I’ll try to make a point of also visiting the go comics site, now that I know it may favorably impact you. Thank you again, so, so much, for this brightest of spots
Thank you, Martha! This comment made me very happy, good advice!!
Martha, you summed up the feelings of thousands of fans perfectly!
Congratulations to you Georgia on this 200th strip and to all of us your faithful readers. I hope we can go at least for 200 more!
I absolutely am Natasha. I just want to tell Kit that it’ll be ok. *starts tearing up*
And, well, now I am addicted to a cat soap opera that doesn’t actually exist…. <3 XD
Speaking as someone who grew up watching All My Children since I was a few days old, I absolutely understand what Puck is talking about. Great job on this soap and on this strip! <3
Oh, my Cat!! The robber mouse hugging Kit on the TV!! LOL!! Congrats on 200. I’m hoping for many, many more adventures with these wonderful cats!
Congrats on number 200!!
CONGRATS ON 200 WONDERFUL STRIPS GEORGIA!!! Each and every one of them a classic IMHO. Love them all!
This one is also great! Love how Puck watches the show with the robber mice. π
If you need time off now and then, or a strip is posted late, no worries. I totally understand the demands of small children, home, and the time it takes to make this strip the fantastic read that it is. Even Patrick McDonnell of Mutts takes time off from time to time and reruns a week of his strips and he’s been at it for over 20 years and counting.
Congratulations on #200! Prepare yourself for a Pulitzer one of these days. Seriously.
I wonder if Beatrix isn’t your secret dream – you are the one who needs a tech savvy intern. Bet the Bookstore Lady wouldn’t give her up for a zillion $$.
Never signed into GoComics so I bet my thousands of rereads don’t count. Rats. I’ll sign in today just to make sure.
Dear Ma’am- I have followed independent webcomics for over a decade but never commented…. It has been a joy to watch you expand your characters, your universe, your family, and your skills ever since I found BCN. Thank you, and congratulations on every accomplishment you have had until now. I look forward to following you for many years to come.
~Kit (and Kaboodle)
I also subscribe to GoComics, so I will see BCN in my morning e-mails, but I will still need to come here (and your Facebook page) to get all the extras from the comments (especially the posts about all the little details I missed on the first reading), and to keep up with the real life cats (and People).

For the past two months or so, GoComics has had daily BCN strips to catch up to this site. And now that it’s over, I’m going to miss BCN every day. It was really nice to check in every afternoon and see people reading and discussing the strips. And I got to see how people would react to having ‘Breaking Cat News’ every day, and it seemed to make people really happy. That made me happy too.
It has me thinking about how I could possibly begin daily strips. It’d be a compromise–the strips would be shorter, but there would be a new one every day and you could follow reports and story lines over a week or two, rather than waiting for Mondays and Thursdays whenever there is a cliff hanger. That is planned for the future, because as many of you already know I have been developing the comic to pitch to newspapers with my editor at GoComics–but I’m thinking about starting it sooner rather than later.
I KNOW. I know that thinking about the comic changing at all might feel bad–however, I ask that everyone give me a chance first before they decide they will not like it. The people who have wanted to visit BCN every day are hopefully reading this with some excitement, but I know it’s a big thing.
I’m writing out some notes for a possible fun special to run with daily strips in a couple of weeks… If I write something good, I’m going to try it out. Which means in a few weeks, you might get to try out having BCN every day. We’ll see! I wanted to let you know what I’m thinking before I just suddenly start posting a BCN strip every day (I know some people are REALLY excited to read that as a possibility, I hope so much you are one of them). And gently ask for folks to keep an open mind until they see and read it.
Congrats on the 200th, the book, and the GoComics sync! π I’ve never signed up for email notifications here, I like just checking in and then finding the new one! And I’ll certainly go to the GoComic site and reread it to help you out!
Doing a daily strip is something you’ve mentioned for a quite awhile and that’s been a long term goal for you. I would assume most people understand that daily strips are smaller, just 3-4 panels. If people complain, refer yourself to your Sunday with Sophie strip!
Don’t worry about your email notifications. As someone above suggested, maybe just send them out when the etsy store is open or there’s a special announcement. You have your work time and family time to juggle. I’m sure you’ve thought of the time daily strips would take right now.
As you said on twitter yesterday, you’re sort of going without a safety net now with them being synced. But it will be okay! You’ll find a good work groove and will accomplish everything you want! If daily strips have to wait, don’t fret. It will only allow people to want them MORE and build interest in past strips and your book (and future calendar!) You WILL soar! π
Thank you for Breaking Cat News!! I am so glad I found this strip. I actually found it on GoComics one evening looking for an interesting comic! I love the details, and how you have to go back and reread/look to catch them all. I know that can’t be done in a daily strip and that’s okay by me. We’d have Sundays. π This strip so reminds me Calvin and Hobbes. So realistic, whimsical, touching, and at times, giving out messages. Thank you!!
Tia, I can’t thank you enough for this comment. It gave me a lot of calm and comfort and happiness to read it. Thank you!
You’re very welcome! Just keep in mind, it’ll be okay! Go at your own pace and everything will fall into place, as it has been! π
With the talk of change Sophie’s art installation from last week seems appropriate. It is probably making some people fell like the shredded paper towels. π But this is your art, your baby so to speak, and we have to realize you are not going to abandon the things that make this comic so great and that we all love. I am sure there will be those little details we will miss the first time around, the humor, the companion, the sweetness. We have to trust that you won’t ruin this because you love it as much as we do and probably more.
One funny thought I had one of the first times I read about you looking to go to shorter daily strips was thinking I wasn’t sure I would like it because it would take longer to get the whole story, but then I thought that was just silly because we would get to read it every day. π
The traditional formats for comics has been short, B&W strips during the week, then a long color one on Sunday. Some strips only ran weekdays; others (Prince Valiant) only on Sun. And beautifully colored. Doonesbury usually had an ongoing story during the week and an unrelated story on Sunday. I can’t see you painting even small strips but your stories are so good that I’d be willing to give up color. BTW, :: fanning self :: HOW CAN ANGORA BE SO FICKLE?!? :: clutching pearls :: (And yes it’s hysterical that we’re all hooked on a fictional soap within a comic about talking cats!)
Congratulations on 200! I second the comment about them bringing 2,000 strips worth of joy and entertainment. And I always check the strip out on gocomics as well as here. It never fails that another sharp-eyed reader will point out a detail I completely missed. The other readers/commenters are the second best thing about the strip!
“oh, this life of lavish refinement and indecision” now playing at Read news by topic/Select Chapter, see at top of page. There was a screen shot of just the title “Our IX Lives” in a previous BCN strip, I don’t remember when…
My fellow tech Dinosaurs: read *more* discussions by clicking the # ! I just tried it, trying to reply to another post. I haven’t yet figured out how to connect my response to a previous post.
Squee! More kittens! Can’t wait to see Snowball’s reaction to all the “new” grandkittens.
Dearest Georgia, thank you, and thank the Man and the Toddler and Baby, for the sacrifice in family time and your time that you all have made to bring us Lupin, Elvis, Pucky, and the rest of your wonderful cast of characters through 200 delightful comics.Personally, my life has been that much brighter with BCN to look forward to,and begrudging a moment if the time you’ve needed to take to produce has never once crossed my mind. I’ve enjoyed the live webcasts, appreciated the te you’be taken to read and reply in the forums, and overall just been so blown away by your willingness to to give of yourself and by your graciousness with your thousands of fans. You are a class act, lady, and only getting classier with success, which is a phenomenal achieved. In the words of some member of the Rat Pack, I’m sure, “don’t ever change”! Love you! Pebblesmom
Thank you, Christine!! π I read this comment and Tia’s one after the other, and wow, you ladies gave me a lot of joy, thank you.
as always, is the little details. I love that old man Taggart is wearing “grip” or “anti-slip” socks.
Naaaw. I like this show within a comic strip.
Congratulations on strip 200 πΎ I haven’t had time in the last 2 weeks to do more than catch up on BCN. It’s been one of the few good things for me. My “Man” has been reminding me to take a look. Our beautiful big boy Bixby was injured while we were out and was rushed, as in 10 minutes from finding where he had denned himself, to our specialty vet ER. It was obvious when we located him that he was going to have to lose his left eye. He spent a miserable 2 weeks in an e-collar. He got his sutures out yesterday, and while he is doing well, is still adjusting. Thankfully our wee Brianna is helping to make him happy.
I stopped watching soap operas years ago, but for you, I will read everything. I love your artwork, humor and wit.
I hope so much that Bixby is healing well! He is lucky to have you all to take good care of him!
Congrats on the Sync and your 200th episode…You know I love that Elvis might be complaining about everyone else loves the show too much..But I bet he would be the saddest if it ever went off the air…He’s such a softy…Thanks for another awesome strip, may there be many, many more π
Congratulations on your 200th strip! Thank you so much for all your hard work. I know that between your family, your furry family, and the strip you can hardly cope with it all. But it brings me a broad smile, and a hearty laugh many times, again thank you so much. I, as a lowly fan, truly appreciate it. I look forward to the strips each week, and the NEXT BREAKING CAT NEWS BOOK!.
Congratulations on 200, the book, GoComics and everything! You deserve it, this is a happy, wonderful creation.
For some reason the confluence of medicine and cats makes me think of my dyslexic mother’s pronounciation of comatose. She called it catamouse, and if challenged she justified it by pointing to how soundly cats sleep!
I love that!
Honestly? The number of people who complain is tiny compared to the number of people who read and enjoy your comic. The large majority of us love BCN, laugh and share it with friends, maybe don’t comment terribly often, and always, always understand that this is free entertainment that you gift to the world.
And it is truly a gift.
Please stop worrying and apologizing so much about the complaints. You can’t please everyone. You make a gigantic majority of us incredibly happy. We’ll be laughing and enjoying BCN through varying posting times, all the upcoming changes, and whatever else may happen as time goes on wherever BCN happens to be published.
Thank you for sharing the antics of Elvis, Puck, Lupin, and all the rest of the BCN family with us. <3
Thank you!! I am hoping that the majority of readers will love what is to come, and it means a lot to me to read this! π
Congratulations on making it to 200! This is indeed a milestone. Here’s to 200 more! Bless you and your family for making it so!
Thank you!!
We have 8 kitties of our own and I believe you will never run out of material!
Dear Georgia,
Beware of burnout. It has ruined many a good cartoonist before now. More is NOT better, no matter how greedy people may be for something that brings a little joy to their day. Yes, I said greedy. Just because I want to have a new BCN every day, doesn’t mean I need it, or that you do. I’d rather have them twice a week, or even once a week, than have you burn out, and then we all have nothing but memories (even if we have the books of everything you’ve ever done.)
Thee are but young. You may not think it could possibly happen, but you should consider the possibility very carefully.
Thank you! One of the strange things about this is that a smaller daily strip would be much easier for me to take on than the two giant strips each week. The current strips break down into 4-5 strips when I have taken them and written them into a daily format. These two big strips each week actually equal about 7-10 smaller strips, if I were to switch to dailies. One of my biggest hesitations was I believed it would be more work to have a strip every day, but now that I have been writing daily strips it turns out it’s easier to balance 6 small strips and one Sunday instead of 2 huge strips.
I love the large strips, and I’d love to still do them sometimes, but I cannot sustain this amount of work each week. (For example, today’s strip was 4 pages, written, inked, and painted over 3 days… I honestly don’t know how, and I’m so happy I got it done, but a lot goes into it and I need to pace myself). I think that smaller strips will keep me sane and ensure that ‘Breaking Cat News’ will last longer than if I continue at the current rate.
Ross has a good point about burnout. If smaller strips work better for you, then you’re heading in the right direction with going to daily strips. IIRC you said awhile back you had a few hundred daily strips ready–I could have sworn I saw that. Maybe build up a year’s worth? Then you have a little bit of a real life cushion? ALWAYS make time for yourself! With BCN, The Toddler and The Baby, The Man, The Boys (of course), don’t forget about YOU! Keep your sanity and keep pacing yourself at the pace YOU want! If it works for you and your family, let any complaints be dealt with by Elvis!
Maybe the next, or 3rd or 4th π BCN book could just be unreleased large strips that you do at your pace and when you have the time!
Thank you, Tia! And yes! While this is the 200th web strip, believe it or not there are currently 276 daily/Sunday strips that only myself, my editor, a handful of folks at GoComics, and the Man have seen! Right now in total 476 BCN strips exist!
I knew I saw that #!! YEAH!!
I was worried about burn-out too, Georgia, which is why I said get more sleep and don’t fret. So I’m VERY glad to read doing daily strips will be easier for you. When you do daily strips, will you still post them here? I just might save up a few days worth each time and read them that way. I’ll have to see when they start. π
Yes, I will! And honestly–that’s how I read a lot of webcomics myself! Ha!
Congrats on #200! I generally go through my GoComics when I go to bed (2-3 am); unfortunately, about half the time BCN shows up blank on my phone, so I still have to wait until I get around to getting on the computer to see it!
BCN often doesn’t show up for me on gocomics. I actually did a support request. After trying the standard remedies in the Book of Standard Remedies and having nothing work, a support person advised me that nobody else has reported a problem with BCN. I said to myself “Oh, yeah sure.” and gave up.
I’ll send in a support request then. I know, thanks to you, I won’t get a resolution; but at least they’ll have another report!! It’s so weird it showed this morning for me, then I went and signed up for a GC account and poof! BCN was gone! I clicked on some other comics and they all showed! ::swish:: GoComics ::swish::
I sent in a support request, got a response asking for clarification, and sent in a bunch of screenshots (basically, every blank one going back to April 30th) in response. I made sure that the strips’ dates were included in the screenshot, and the pics themselves were time-stamped from yesterday afternoon.
“I was unable to replicate this issue with the examples you provided. That said, it’s very possible that you are checking this feature either; A. Before the creator has uploaded her art for the day, or B. Your device is saving the cache for the page prior to the upload, and showing you old data even when the file is present.”
Now, I’m willing to give them the cache one (although I cleared the cache and nothing changed) but the pics were clearly time-stamped 6/6 and the strips were clearly dated going back to 4/30… *shakes head*
That’s now happened to me on GoComics! I viewed it just fine this morning and now when I went back and even signed up for an account, the comic won’t load! Just wanted to let you know you’re not the only one! I’m on a PC!
I bet Elvis records “Our IX Lives” and watches it later when he thinks no one is looking.
I’ve been reading BCN since April 2014 and NEVER miss an episode. Congratulations on 200! I suggested/requested a BCN calendar sometime in 2014. I’m so excited that it will happen! The question is…can I wait until 2018?
Right?? I did get an okay from GoComics to allow me to draw and paint some of the calendar pages on my live stream, so there will be peeks into the progress! And thank you!
Re “Oh my cat.” I’m probably overthinking this but it makes me think about feline religion. I know, it’s a dangerous subject to bring up, but the human analogue expression mentions a supreme being. Seems to me that any feline religion would naturally have solipsistic roots. If cats worship a kind of ideal cat it’s obvious who they’d choose. Both our cats have often told me who the ideal cat is.
I think it might refer to the “higher self”…what we “wanna, shoulda, coulda been”. The inner guide, or moral compass.
It’s Bast. Always has been, always will be–and since every cat is an avatar of Bast, that means each cat is his or her own god. Which should surprise absolutely nobody.
Before I add to the many, very well deserved comments and congratulations, I miss Bee-Tricks!!!
I was so hoping she would be a regular character. What a personality! If people can talk about liking a soap opera within a comic strip, then I can emphasize that I Miss Her! Thank you, Gerorgia, for all the love and humour your wonderful BCN gives me. Can we preorder the next book soon? πππ
Neither I, nor most others I’m willing to bet, realize how much work goes into each of these. I should know better from my own experience in CG. I’m also used to hearing cartoonists and others with daily deadlines moaning about the daily grind. Perhaps, also based on years of experience with outrageous deadlines, I lend too sympathetic an ear to such complaints. If going daily reduces your workload, I’m all for it. So now I don’t have to feel guilty about being greedy for more BCN and Our Nine Lives. =^D
Never fear! She will be back plenty. π
Yes!! These would be a welcome change for me. I’m not sure why I began making these weekly strips so large. An exception for a slightly longer story was made over and over until suddenly each Monday/Thursday strip was about the size and effort of 2-2.5 traditional Sunday strips. I love creating them! I feel a need to pace myself though.
I resemble these remarks.π

Congratulations Georgia, I am still addicted, I did read this on GoComics but I also love to see all the personal remarks on here! Its always a treat! Thanks xxx
Georgia β
Huge congrats on this milestone.
Also, I trust you implicitly. Whatever you produce, on whatever schedule, will bring me joy, I know. Just take care of yourself. I wonder if there is anything you might delegate? I would happily donate a few dollars a month on Patreon to hire you an assistant. I bet I’m not the only one.
Georgia, I know I won’t be disappointed if you post a strip daily since when have I EVER been disappointed or not enjoyed your writings and art? So don’t think of this as criticism in the SLIGHTEST – promise? But I’m the sort who’s patient and more than happy to wait for a nice long piece (like today’s which is absolutely adorable and packed with goodies to pore over).
It’s just me and you’re not writing for one reader only but trying to make everyone happy. And I know I’ll be happy and not disappointed. I don’t pass judgement ever on good intentions. I just enjoy when things go on for a while to fully savour it whether it’s a nice long British show, a book, a meal, a visit or in this case, your twice a week strips.
I just want you to know that I’m sure there are others who loved and perhaps preferred the long twice weekly strips BUT I want you to know none of your loyal readers will (I’ll repeat it again) ever ever be disappointed in what you do! I’m looking forward to the story regarding a fish tank and the Boys!
Now a bit of advice. Get to bed earlier rather than fretting over getting the strip out on time (and I know GoComics will tend to that now). Your sleep and your family will always come first!!
Thank you, Jude! π This was all good to hear–er, read!
200 wonderful strips! Thank you for your gift to all of us! I adore what you have don – and am in awe for what you WILL do. Also, please do what is best for YOU. I would rather have one strip a week, if it was easier for you …. or as much as you are comfortable with. I just love what you do!
CCongratulations! (Not a typo – CC=200 in Roman numerals.)
The whole deathbed scene reminds me of an old Benny Hill sketch, part of which went like:
PATIENT: Doctor, am I dying?
DOCTOR: Of course not. You’re gonna be fine. Just fine. (To Patient’s wife) How the hell are they gonna get the coffin up these stairs?
HAHAHAHA!!!!!
That’s so funny!!
Ha ha! Denny, I love that, “Ben Kitty”! Sigh, guess I’m showing my age by knowing that you’re referring to Ben Casey! By the way, much congratulations to Georgia on BCN’s 200th strip!!!!
This was a really weird strip today. The first time I didn’t laugh or even chuckle. I hope this isn’t the direction the comics will go in. Anyways, congrats on 200 strips!
When I first read this I missed that the hospital name was Viejo Gato. I wasn’t sure why Elvis was speaking Spanish. I thought maybe he was learning Spanish to impress Tabitha. π
Snowball needs a good thaw. Think of the drama of him losing everything. Would his family stand by him? Possibly. It does make it easier to stick the knife in.
Congratulations on 200.
Miss Georgia: everything will be fine. Do what works best for you, long, short or in between, encapsulated or serial, or mix it up. We have seen, and loved, all of the above from you, and I am sure we will follow right along. You are the artist, create what you like, when you like, in whatever format or mixed medium (including paper towels and found items) you want. Simple or elaborate, You have been there, and I can say that I have loved them all. A daily strip would be, as His Excellency Elvis says, excellent, especially if it easier on you. Sounds like a win-win. Stop fretting, be peaceful like Pucky.
Ps…no one else said it, so I will…love the little cat ears on the hospital.
First appearance of Kit Chase, December 11, 2015 on robber mice tv/cel phone… Kit Chase emotes with Angora Taggart while Baba Mouse watches part of the show with a robber mouse Dec 21, 2015.
After the Taggart family dinner February 14th, 2016, they all go to the hospital, and are still there three and a half months later. Princess took time to write and mail a letter to her family, so perhaps this is a week or two later after all.
By a stroke of extremely good luck, I found BCN on Go Comics some time ago…weeks if not months. But up until today (6/3/2016) I had no idea that your site existed.
It is with mixed feelings that I decided to put my email on your list because it then became part of your “computer problem,” making matters worse for you. On the other hand, I don’t want to miss out.
I am so happy for all of your success. Anyone who has had a baby knows that they have to come first especially when they are sick. But you must take care of yourself too. I don’t know how you do it all. If I sound like your mother, I’m sorry but I’m old enough to be your mother maybe even grandmother. So forgive me. I will read BCN on gocomics but I like this sight best. I haven’t watched a soap in a long time. ” Our IX Lives ” is one I will watch.
Oh my cat…a calendar!! How great is that?? Cool!
There need to be CN mugs, too, with each anchor on them. π
Congrats! I’m so glad for your success.
Loved Father’s little hospital anti-slip socks.
Also loved: ” My dear girl . . . Yes.”
How can a cat play the mandolin?
…maybe not very well; hence “amateur” player?

Both glad and sorry it’s not just me! Just sent in a support request (via the Contact Us button) of my own, so hopefully they’ll realize that it’s not an isolated case.
Seems to just be using the app; yesterday’s comic showed up just fine via Firefox on my laptop just now, though it’s still blank in the app.
OMC! I just looked back at the Feb. 11 strip and noticed that Sophie painted the portrait of Captain Nimble! She is a versatile artist! And you are amazing to keep such continuity in the details. Do you script?
I keep a few notebooks with outlines/future ideas and possible story lines and plots. It helps me to write a plot out and add or scribble-delete with a pen. π
Good Morning, Georgia: On the GoComics site, someone in the comment section mentioned Dark Shadows. PLEASE, what a great Halloween story line this would make for the month of October! I would love to see what your mind and talent would come up with!
Did I miss an episode? Who’s the cat on the beach?
Feb 11th, 2016
That’s Captain Nimble, the sailor’s cat that Princess ran away with.
I love this soap opera. And I love that it moves at the same pace as people soap operas. Back in the days before kids, when I had time to watch TV, I once went 4 or 5 months without a chance to see Days of Our Lives, but when I saw it again, Roman and Marlena were still just as unsure of each other as they had always been. And judging by the headlines on “Soap Opera Digest” (I glance at the cover while waiting in the checkout line) some 30 years later they STILL haven’t figured out what they mean to each other.
I’m hoping that Angora and Kit are better at relationships than Roman and Marlena.
That’s exactly the pace I am trying to recreate here, thank you!! When I was a kid I would get to watch Soap Operas on whenever I happened to be home from school–sick days, Christmas vacation, glorious summer vacation, etc–and whenever I returned to ‘All My Children’ or ‘Days of Our Lives’ I could sense I had missed a few things (like Snowball going to the hospital, who is Brad? And such) but I had enough to infer what generally what was going on and was sometimes lucky enough to stumble onto a major reveal. Whenever I write these glimpses into ‘Our IX Lives,’ I kind of want it to feel like we all just happened to wander into the BCN break room after missing a month or two and we’re all filling in the gaps.
Thank you for the info! I can’t believe I forgot Capt Nimble!
Congratulations on number 200! And congratulations on the success of the strip! Think of how many days you are brightening. π Now may I (ever so) gently suggest that you obtain some help with the things you like less (e.g. the computer part) and have more time for things you like more (e.g. human and feline family members, creating/composing the strip, naps with the kitties, etc)? No one wants to see you burn out.
Thank you, Cynthia! This may be very needed in the future. π Also, on a random note, I adore your name; I have a cousin Cynthia who is dear to me.
How nice to be thought of in context of your dear cousinπ. Also think of what they say on airplanes: “in the event of an emergency place the oxygen mask over your mouth and nose and THEN assist others.” Basically you are no good to others if you can’t breath. So think of that if you ever are tempted to skimp on taking care of yourself! Love love love the strip. Just got my print from GoComics of Sunday with Sophie. It is going in my studio (art quilts) for daily inspiration.
Lynn Johnston did this kind of thing with a team of about five people
And congrats on BCN 200!
P.S I think you deserve a Ruben Award (the comic strip version of the oscars)!
Thank you!! <3
Hi, Georgia,
If it helps at all, you can drop me from the notification listing…not because I M no longer interested, but because I eagerly await every strip, so can look for it myself. I will miss the notes from Beatrix, but can make up for it…
Thank you, Martha–but then I’m afraid I would have to learn how to edit or delete from the list, and I just don’t know how to. I am happy that folks are on the list, and I use an email notification service for the list currently that seems to be working. However, while I have to pay for the notification service in place here, in contrast GoComics pays me to have the comic there and handles all of the subscriptions and notifications for me on their site. The salary is a blessing, but even more than that is the hope that one day I won’t have to deal with computers anymore. A lot of folks here are suggesting I hire someone, but that’s exactly where GoComics comes in, they handle everything that I don’t know how to do. We never would have had a book if it were left up to me, I would not have known where to start.
Georgia, you are a treasure and so is BCN. I’ll be reading both here and at GoComics.
*whispers* There should be another ‘r’ in Princess’ “Inappropriate.”
Oops! That’s a good example of me dropping a letter in the pencil-to-inking phase! Thank you!
When I go to GoComics I can’t see anywhere to subscribe or anywhere to view comments or leave comments. Is this because I only access the strip using my iPhone 6s?
Any tips would be gratefully received.
It may be because you are using your phone. GoComics has an app which works well on phones, or you can scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and it should say “Switch to desktop version.” I hope that helps!
Yeah, you can’t really do much of anything through the app. You *can* add a comic to your comics if you’re logged in, and favorite/share a particular strip, but that’s about it. I find the app to be easier for viewing several comics at a go than the website (which I think is VERY clunky, especially if you’re catching up on a few days’ worth of comics), but you lose the conversation, which is sad.
I have received my copy of the book today and it is indeed a thing of beauty. It will have pride of place on the cluttered pile of stuff that passes for a bookshelf in my den. Looking forward to the next!
Thank you, Lee! π
It’s “Reuben”βand I absolutely agree.
No need for proof readers when you have dedicated fans π
the power you wield as a cartoonist is great. keep using that power for th good of cats.
I will, and do, read BCN on the GoComics site–but I *VASTLY* prefer reading it here on the BCN site. I’m curious, though–Georgia, it seems you have someone on-hand who might be able to help you automate some of the computer tasks. Isn’t The Man a bit of a computer whiz? If he’s that involved with gaming/gamers, I’d expect him to be.
I found BCN by referral–one of my GF’s coworkers mentioned it as one of two cat-centered comics she liked (I forget the other), so I went looking. Immediately went back to the beginning, and read my way from there to current, enjoying the comments on each strip. And that’s largely why I prefer this site. We have a fun commenting community, which includes dear talented Georgia, we have a cast list for each strip, etc.
I, too, support Georgia’s doing what works best for her time-wise.
Hmph. Comments time-stamped in EDT. Why doesn’t the US just adopt EDT/EST as the standard for the country? Then I could claim I get up at 6:15 and I wouldn’t seem such a vampire.
He has explained that there is a way to automate the posts. With help, I could probably learn how to do it, but I am overwhelmed by the computer side of things even with help. And if I automate the links, the notifications still rely on me copying the links which are generated once the post is created, and I would have to copy and paste the generated link in the middle of the night to send out the notifications… Even if I do all of that, I still am running out of server support to handle the traffic here when new posts first appear.
Or, it’s all done for me at GoComics. And instead of me paying anyone or trying to manage anyone, they pay me and handle everything for me.
I’ve read this strip a few times now and only just realized – the hospital bed is actually a cat bed π How did I miss that?
Congrats on 200. That means you made me and others happy 200 times. Thank you.
I just love your drawings of kittens. They are so cute. Example: the kittens on the beach with their little striped shirts. Adorable.
I wrote a blog post today going into some of the things that have been discussed since the two sites synced! This explains a little bit about how I came to be syndicated and what it has meant to ‘Breaking Cat News,’ and also a bit about each site, the daily strips I’ve been working on, and such… http://www.georgiadunnstudio.com/2016/06/behind-scenes-of-what-goes-into-making.html
The hospital is named the “pretty cat hospital” why?
Based on the Pucky-Elvis conversation, I think it’s the name of their town. And what’s wrong with “pretty cat”???
I may be wrong KatTheFirst and Denny, but, doesn’t Viejo Gato mean “old cat”?
UrbanDictionary.com; Viejo=old, masculine form; vieja=Baba Mouse. Are the street and hospital named fpr Snowball?
Georgia, in the 13th panel, is that Princess’ sailor hubby and she has more kittens that just the one she brought back??!
Yes! It would seem that in the confusion of the shipwreck she could save one and he could save three!
Awww! π Poor Princess–it must have been even more agonising for her not knowing how the other three came out! I wonder what Daddy Taggart will react to having not just one but four grandkittens!
